I cannot kill anybody in this game now, i shoot an enemy with sniper twice only for them to shoot me from the other side of the map and kill me with 3 bullets from the Hemlok, i then changed my gun to a LMG and still couldnt kill anybody seem to be a second behind a fuckin gen, getting pretty sick and tired of this shite on Xbox One, Titans really seem useless in this game. Having played T1 for a long time the hit detection for that was no problem but this is just a big let down, seems a waste of money yet again because of the issues online i keep experiencing.
Please can somebody shed some light on this big problem for me.
    Thanks.

This seems to happen frequently and I have no idea why. I cannot believe that it is lag, but on the replay I am lagging at times. So...I have to be quicker, better, use more powerful guns and and go for the head shots. The Devotion is lumbering, but it certainly takes care of the problem of the guy killing me from a distance after I pelted him with a 201 with what seem like rubber bullets.

No something is wrong. I believe it's lag. I usually average 12 kills but for the last few games something is seriously off. I can't figure it out. My sight on my hemlock is really really slow. I've had point blank shots miss even in my titan. I rarely had lag issues with TF1

I found my settings, sensitivity on high, stick deadzone none. Feels nice. I'm actually enjoying the game.

This is almost certainly a connection issue, not sure about other platforms but I have found the hit detection to be quite consistent on X1. Additionally the netcode of TF1 certainly dealt with poor connections quite well compared with CoD. The TTK in this game is a little quicker but that it is in part due to amped weapons which whilst they are active are over powered for mine. This is offset by the time limited nature of them to degree but I wouldn't be surprised if amped weapons get a nerf somewhere along the line. You can call your ISP and ask for a low latency profile which makes your download slower but will sharpen your ping.

Just to throw a spin ball on this one - valid point mate, and I too barked up about the R-207 I for a bit there thought it was like the new SP, nobody seems to die with it, and they sure as hell don't have a problem killing with it either. I've since realized it wasn't the case 'I think'. I still think it's a bit of a bro weapon.

Hemlok, you'd be dropping like a fly maybe because the other player has lined you up right, center of mass and the three shots will hit you, if only two or one then another burst will finish you off and that's a given. The Hemlok is a deadly rifle although not auto (so CQB isn't great) but you'll see a lot of players have cottoned on to this - especially in the open maps when distance between affords distance engagement.

LMG - absolute tits unless you're on to them before they you, and you can keep them in your spray. I'm not even going to bother with the LMG until I've cracked level 50 - waste of time, stupid gun may have been good in TF1 but like the SMG it's gone to the gutter TF2.

The other 2 LMG's on the other hand. Nice, when applied sparingly.

Titans, well I can't really say - used the ION since day 1 he's getting all leveled up. I have good days and bad days - one thing I can say is the ordnance difference makes for trouble if you decide to take on 3 different class Titans at once.

While it could be a connectivity thing, just to shed some light on playing for the hell of it - I often spend a lot of time on the US servers pinging well out to 250 - 260, 180 on wifi if lucky. Some games not so great, but others top of the charts, lot's of pilot kills, and all that good stuff. I must admit same as with TF1 I've always been going on the US servers from NZ, pinging over 200 which some people say isn't worth playing.

I don't find it's a matter of connectivity to be honest, I think the quick draw mod will help you heaps.

Don't forget there are some crack squad players that been playing it before it released too. And many just aggro (in a good way) amazing shooter players who are natural I hate those types (haha) they're probably laughing as they jump over your dead body onto the next poor pilot.

Find a weapon (for me it's the Hemlok & G2, now the Flatliner) and stick with it. Snipers in TF2? seem to be a bit of a target more than anything - they were good stuff in TF1, TF2 might be a little fast paced for snipers now. Don't know, I hate sniping I can't shoot for peanuts, but I love them in TF2 they give themselves away straight away.

Keep going at it, and don't forget the other modes. Attrition is great testing ground as was with TF1, but it's pretty standard, bounty is a great mode to keep you on your toes - non stop distance engaging and CQB when it's payment time.

Good luck, feel your pain - TF2 is nothing like TF1, but I am starting to enjoy it more and more each day and hope others will too.

Because the pissy Aussie/NZ server/following is already down to about 300 in the afternoon, declining to 100 odd at night.....I'll be on those 250 ping US servers all the time pretty soon!

Better than TF1 though - only about 30 odd on Aussie server some nights lol.

Otherwise, like Sgt Rawk says - call your ISP.

    Peace!

Yes to this! Soooo painful!!! I believe it is some sort of networking issue. I consistently play with the same group of people and we love the game; however, we are getting super sick of this problem. Tonight is the first time we rage quit due to the consistency of this issue. Out of 5 games, 4 of them were latency city. All of our pings were in the bright to light green., so it doesn't seem to be our connection to the server (assuming those numbers and colors are accurate).

Respawn, please make investigating this issue a priority. My friends and I would love to continue to poor our free time into this game, but this network issue is a complete drag (more so than the one that kicks the party from the lead and sends the lead into battle alone. yeah, worse than that). We know these issues take time to identify and fix, but please take steps towards isolating and resolving the problems with the network.

The Data Centers we bounce between are Salt Lake, Dallas, and the 3 Oregon locations (why are there that many there?). Not sure if that is relevant. We have tried jumping around and it doesn't seem to help.

P.S. I don't remember this being an issue at launch.

P.S.S Thanks for all the hard work! We can't wait for the new DLC and Premium Aesthetic Content!

Perhaps there are lag issues, and if there are, of course those should be addressed. However, I think there is a more fundamental problem with this game that might be getting ignored because this entire lag problem is being used as the scape goat for it.

There is a serious problem with this game, which is one of the things that causes me the most frustration and causes me to go, "Screw this! I'm going to just go play TF1, because it is as far better and more enjoyable game." It is a combination of situational awareness and the weapon strength/pilot health ratio.

Situational Awareness - In TF1, the mini map and sound effects were extremely helpful to the point where, for me at least, I could ALWAYS tell when I was being attacked, which direction it was coming from and, in most cases, even know what weapon I was being attacked with.

Weapon Strength/Pilot Health Ratio - In TF1, not only could I tell when, where and how I was being attacked, but the weapon strength/pilot health ratio allowed me to take some damage and react and make use of the situational awareness, jump out of the way, find some cover, lick any wounds and then go make the guy pay for even daring to think he could mess with me.

With TF2, the mini map is useless, the sounds effects don't help very much and the weapon strength/pilot health ratio only makes this lack of situational awareness exponentially worse. In many cases, you have no idea you were even being attacked, much less from what direction or with what weapon, and then BOOM, white shock flash and you're dead,

Perhaps there may be lag issues, but I think this HORRENDOUS design is being blamed on lag in large part.

And PLEASE Respawn, that BOOM white shock flash death thing has got to go. So annoying!
