i agree in a big way. i don't think it's just Respawn choice to make , EA has a lot of control so it seem .
more weapons and titans , not just the skins but some different Titans classes . being that they went the route with locked in titan loadout guns choices are limited and will get boring very fast , in a way we have lest choice from the first . i am still on the fence on the weapon locked in in the beginning before the game info was launched i figured we would have gotten more guns or even variants of weapons, but this is not the direction they took.

i love the concept of the complete different look to a titan class example the current ION and SCORCH both have a completely different look and am excited to see what the others will look like. this was the concept i would have like to have seen in part 1 and the ability to change my main gun as i please with each titan having there own core.
i really would like to have to experience how this would have played out.

    1. ION Class laser core , ION will still have his ION blast and his laser shot with a choice of laser based weapon variants , we seen the splinter rifle , how about a laser Titan size SMG or even a different laser rifle , look sound and feel of different guns .
    2. Scorch , fire core , as it's fiction game why not have the same concept of guns based on the core , a SMG class gun shooting fire rounds that could spark off your gas canisters and so fort. even an assault titan rifle .
would like to see different faction pilots and titans , example play as the 6/4 and unlock a titan skin not camo if a player desires to play in that faction. the titan will still be locked in it's class but just have a faction based look .

Maps are a big thing and a must . that and modes .
pilot guns want to see a variaty of different weapons different look and sound and feel it could have the same damage model and range / specs but just a different look and sound will make a world of difference example the R101C , bring back the gun model , with a bit of a different sound and give the gun burst fire like the hemlock ,

at the end of the day simple visuals and sound can make a difference in giving a simple way of variety.

Derrame is exactly right. This is why I'm not of fan of free DLC. No incentive to make the core game good, because don't need to keep people around to buy future DLCs. No incentive to put DLCs out or make them good, because your not getting any money for them anyway. Therefore, it naturally results in no sense of urgency, which is exactly what we are feeling. The maps are a perfect example.

I think the focus needs to be on maps, because this determines the size of our playground. Therefore, with having no incentive to keep players around to buy future DLC packs, TF2 launched with 60% of the maps that TF1 did and they were smaller (9 instead of 15). Again, with no incentive to have people buy the first DLC, TF2 released it's DLC1 with 33% of the maps that TF1 did (1 instead of 3). Not to mention, they didn't even have to create it, but actually stole it from TF1.

You can just see the blatant lack of urgency that free DLC spawns. I'd much rather pay for DLC if I am going to get a better core game, more of a sense of urgency to improve the game, and better DLC content.

Not to mention that the lack of content and lack of attention kills what little user base you have. You have to give players a reason to want to stick around and they are just not doing it. Heck, I even saw some slightly negative comments today on here from some members that I NEVER thought would even consider doing so. I mean, they are some super nice, optimistic members and even they are getting tired of where things are at right now. That is not good Respawn. You are even starting to lose people who I've seen defend you to the hilt.

they won't get money from free dlc, and that is the biggest problem here, there is no urgency, that's corect,
but for me free dlc is mey best option (i cannot buy dlc's from my country, merchants have base games only, ) so i was very happy to know all dlc's will be free, i won't be left out of the new content
and we alread payed for the dlc's the base gae was 70 isntead of 60

anyway, Respawn is loosing veteran players and newcomers, if they don't release new content, like maps, titans, pilots, weapons for pilots (rigt now there are too fw for an fpcs game!) this will bet boring fast and few peple will but tf3, if there is a thrd game..

and i persnally would like a coop mode, like fronteer defense,
this game has potential, Respawn has good concept ideas, they have a powerful publisher, there are lot of people wanting more, they have all they need to make things right for everyone, don't waste that chance Respawn..

Ok but here's the thing. They would have commenced development on DLC before the game even released. Its not like they went gold with the game a month before release, halted production to see how sales would be, and now are deciding to not begin working on it. There must have been at least a sizeable chunk completed before the disappointing sales were reported.

I understand it may have slowed development as they reassigned personnel to other projects but even just some news about what will be coming along the way for those of us who truly enjoy the game but are getting bored of some of the maps? something? anything?

The game has more than "potential". Critically its the best shooter released for holiday season. The really frustrating part is the COD zombies who refuse to try something different.

They have said that there is no new DLC until the new year. It's the holiday season and they just got done working on a game for quite some time. Let them get a bit of rest and time with their families, TF2 isn't going anywhere. Low player counts don't bother me, Titanfall is a niche game and it will always remain that way in America, mech games just don't translate well.

    what's brother, Season greetings.

Mate while the low player count may not bother you , it does bother many others meaning that the game that they invested money and time in as a gamer and a consumer is showing signs that in a short time the game will be unplayable for their console of choice .
As a fan yourself and as a gamer that clearly has ties with respawn should be concerned for their current state and future .

Mech games are always been wanted and the first did translate very well , and this was on a limited demographic on a limited console launch and also due to their core concept that they had which was and is a first of it's kind.
which has changed in the second game from the first , as many have stressed on multiple social media outlets , granted Titanfall 2 has a lot of new and interesting things to it and is a great game for what it is , but like you and many gamers out there know the potential of what could be and what should be , many know what they like in a game and have been gaming for a long time to know what they want out of the Titanfall franchise and hope betterment for the future .

yes it is the holiday season and they and any one around this time of year need their rest and have and like many on here would wish them and anyone especially the makers of the game they are fan's off a merry christmas to them and their families .

your statement / TF2 isn't going anywhere . If for the new year things don't turn around to how current things are , before summer many will be playing other games and for any company that is trying to build their user base and fan base current stats on the game is not good so your statement may be true even if not ment in that context . I for one want respawn and titanfall to become a part 3 and even a BAR to be set for future MECH games.

I hope that there planned DLC for 2017 make a grand entrance in the first 2 weeks of the new year or at least show what is in store for the future to keep their customers and fans interested and excited.

cheers mate , hope you had a great XMAS and have a great NEW YEAR and hope to see new and better content for Titanfall sooner rather than later .

Not sure what you mean by I have "ties" with Respawn. The only ties I have is that I'm a super fan. The game not being playable would really suck but even I noticed when the game even dipped below 800 players on console I would still find a game with no problems. Yes I had to play Attrition but it is what it is, I enjoy Attrition.

You have to remember that Titanfall 1 had everything going for it. Call of Duty was stale, it was the very first game that the EX developers of Call of Duty were creating so there a TON of hype around that. It was released in March with absolutely no other competitive MP shooters released around it, it was THE game to have if you wanted to play MP during that specific time period. It was also a launch title and exclusive for the Xbox One, it had everything in it's favor. I still don't think mech games translate well. Sure it sold well but that's because of the reasons I just laid out to you. The player count drastically decreased in that game as well.

They have stated that they are introducing new and constant DLC in the new year, we'll just have to see if that's true or not. That's why I'm saying we have to give them time. Give them some time off and let them come back at the game with some new passion. For me personally I think the game is amazing and hands down the best game to come out this holiday season. However, you have to take that into account as well. Not only did EA make them release in the holiday season, they made them release in between two already giant following competitive MP games in Battlefield 1 and Infinite Warfare. Not a lot of people are going to buy multiple games, they just don't have money like that (which is why that 1st one sold well, no other game to compete) because if you look the majority of the sales didn't happen later, they happened at the beginning.

Don't get me wrong, every game has room to improve and that's true with Titanfall 2 as well, there was even 40k players the other day on Xbox. I'm gonna wait and see what happens instead of being all doom and gloom.

Cheers! I did have a great XMAS, I hope you had an awesome one as well and wish you the best in the NEW YEAR and I agree with your last statement as well. I have faith in Respawn.

Ik, you are right on and I agree with everything you said. This is a great game yes like every game it could use some enhancements but it is by far the best game this season (I have BF1 and IW/MW so I can compare). No it is not TF1 but I don't think that is necessary. I hope the hit us with some great new DLC's in the new year with some great maps and not just rehashed TF1 maps, something original.

One point about the timing it is not just money, people don't have the time to try and master 2 games much less 3 so they either stay with COD or BF.

Despite network and lag issues that I have experienced with this game , this has been the most fun and brilliant online game out there. I have played all the call of dutys and this game is superior in every way . I have almost 4 days played and it's such an addicting game. The advanced movements and gun mechanics and hit detection (when network runs good) is by far superior to the call of duty games out there. I have noticed a lot of complaints about this game on this site and while I haven't played Tf1 I think we are not doing this game justice . Maybe Tf1 was better but as it stands right now this is such a great game and I'm looking forward to playing his for a long time.

TF1 was an amazing game and I'm a HUGE fan. I think a lot of it is nostalgia factor. Personally, I'm not a fan of developers just re-hashing / re-skinning old games when it comes to a sequel and I actually think Respawn did an amazing job of keeping the core gamplay Titanfall while adding more depth and substance as well. Most people on here disagree and that's fine, everyone has a different opinion.

My response was only pointing out that sales/population have a LOT of different things factor into it and you have to take every single one of those things into consideration.

    Hello .
no gamer or consumer will do any game justice if as a gamer and a consumer don't point out the bad and the good, most comments on this site and the official and other media outlets tend to say the same thing Bad and Good .

I and most gamers don't need to read reviews to know what i like and enjoy , i can tell the difference on what is good what works and what doesn't and even then it's a matter of an opinion from me or anyone that express their view , IMO it is better to try to express one's view the best they can rather than say notting . granted some views and comments are to be taken with a grain of salt but there are great point when readers and members like yourself take the time to understand where gamers are coming from , not all will agree and many views are different hence this is a forum were gamers all around the world get together to voice their views on the game or anything in the matter.
as far as comparing COD to Titanfall as some do , there are only a few thing that can be compared physically and some are theory , as for TitanFall being a better game in multiplayer that is an understatement as the gameplay and i agree is better than COD games . as far being a FPS multiplayer game and i as a gamer hope that COD and other company's make a game that is fluid with mech's fluid like a human movement like how Titanfall 1 is .

the complaints you are reading are in a way directed towards the game and with that ideas will follow some are good some are ok but a view nonetheless .
i too am looking to play this game for a long time but if gamers don't speak up and give there views on the topics on hand towards the game for what it is then we will not have a better product for the future. so give your view on what you like about the game what works and what does not , always keep your view coming .
    Cheers .

agree with you on the sales part of the game . as there are many different things to factor in that can change the course of how a game can turn out , but in the end the core concept titanfall 1 had pretty much the product sold itself and just needed more support at launch sooner rather than later .
also agree with you on re-hashin / re-skinning old games but what titanfall 2 did from the first was too fast to soon and what they changed was not a great decision to make the game better as they changed too many of the good things that made the first game different to other FPS on the market at the time and current .

tell me in detail what depth did titanfall 2 have that is groundbreaking as in a way titanfall 2 has a lot of rehash concepts that other games on the market which gamers are tired off , in your view point out what titanfall 2 did better than part one .

Well like I said I never played Tf1 but I read something respawn said about Tf2 and they said they opened up the aiming part of the game to make the shooter elements more precise. They felt Tf1 had to many random kills and they wanted the more skilled player to be able to out shoot and out aim his opponent in Tf2. That is ALL I need to know to realize they did the right thing with this game. This is a perfect hybrid of the crazy titanfall fast gameplay mixed with enough traditional fps mechanics to make this a perfect blend of gameplay. There is literally no reason someone should go and buy call of duty with this game out on the market now. Today for instance I have basically been playing all day , it is so fun and addicting I can't get enough. I think it's TERRIBLE that this game is not doing well with sales , this I hope can change. I want to see this game make a huge comeback and I want titanfall to be the blockbuster hit it deserves to be. Also a lot of the complaints on here I think also is because there has been a small pool of players online , the more players that join the community and play it the bigger and better this game will get.

Ik0n and DARK, you both make some very good arguments. This is probably the best valid new argument I've seen in ahwile DARK:
Now Ik0n, as much as I try really hard to re-read your posts and always tell myself that he and I have agreed to disagree, I can't leave my boy Trini hanging out to dry on some of these things.

I remember you saying on different occasions that you have played in games and chatted with someone from Respawn. Also, before you ever even said that, it at least felt like you were always the first to run to Respawn's defense. So, when I saw you say that, it was kind of like, "Ahh, OK, now I get it.", so Trini sees the same posts I do, so perhaps that's what he means.

There's a difference between being "doom and gloom" and trying to express valid concerns, which is what I believe Trini and I both try to do. If I see a canary in the coal mine, I want to bring it to everyone's attention so that they are not all walking around thinking everything is rainbows and lollipops when there is something that may be very concerning.

Maybe this doesn't bother you, but I only play on the PC and the player counts are alarmingly low already. DARK shared some XBox One and PS4 player counts with me the other day, so I can see why console players would not be concerned, but for PC players it is a completely different story.

I don't enjoy Attrition in TF2. I only want to play Amped Hardpoint and less than 2 months after launch the Amped Hardpoint lobby is already dead on PC. This is one of the canaries in the coal mine I am talking about. It took about 9 months for the Hardpoint lobby to die on the PC in TF1, but if the Amped Hardpoint lobby is dead in less than 2 months, that should be concerning to everyone.

I would argue that TF1 did not have everything in it's favor compared to TF2. In March of 2014, no one had even heard of Titanfall or knew what it was. In October 2016, the name had been out there for 2 years and 7 months. Also, TF1 was not available to PS4 gamers, but TF2 was.

You are right about that, but you have to look at the reasons why. There are 2 reasons TF1 player count decreased, which were no matchmaking algorithm and no anti-cheat system.

Despite any claims they might like to make, it is evident by the results that nothing was done effectively to change those 2 issues in TF2. However, they've done other things to make it worse. The game is now a traditional FPS clan magnet, which only exacerbates the already non-existent matchmaking algorithm. Even after a DLC, it has 66% of the maps that TF1 had at launch. On top of that, the new "matchmaking system" pulls you from the game you were just in back into the entire user pool and creates a new game with no regard to the map you just played, the mode you just played or the players who were on both teams. This creates 3 issues: 1) you can get the same map 3, 4 or 5 times in a row, which makes the already limited playground of 10 maps seem even smaller.; 2) in a variety mode like "Angel City 24/7", you can get Bounty Hunt 3 times in a row, which makes things boring for someone who thought they entered a variety lobby.; 3) you lose the continuity and connectivity with the players on both teams between games (you cannot give atta boys or talk smack between games or have a chance to get revenge or possibly develop a relationship and add a new friend).

Bottom Line: TF2 still has same issues that drove users from TF1, but now the matchmaking imbalance is worse because they are coordinated FPS clans on one side, you've got a smaller playground with less variety, and you've lost an important social connection between games. If TF1's player count decreased drastically, then without urgent and drastic attention, TF2's player count is going to crash and burn. <<< I believe this is what those like Trini and I are trying to shout from the rooftops (this is not doom and gloom, these are valid concerns) At this point, compared to what I saw in TF1, I don't see or feel any urgency, which is what really concerns me.

There is another thing that could drive players away, including myself. When the Hardpoint lobby died in TF1, I had the Multiplayer Campaign to go to, which had 4 out of the 9 games being Hardpoint in a predictable pattern. In TF2, if the Amped Hardpoint lobby is dead, I have nowhere to go. Even the "Angel City 24/7" does not give me Amped Hardpoint, because it jams 3 games of Bounty Hunt in a row down my throat. If I play 10 games, I might get one game of Amped Hardpoint.

You see, you say this as if it is a good thing for TF2 (and that this was exclusive to TF1), but this is another one of those canaries in the coal mine, because this is typical of most games no matter what their launch conditions. That is why I believe the exact opposite of this: "Low player counts don't bother me", If the majority of your sales don't happen later, then if your player counts get low, you are never going to be able to get them back.

Well I definitely respect your opinion and I do agree constructive criticism is needed for anything to improve and evolve. I do not know all the complaints people have HOWEVER if someone complains about them opening up the game to more of traditional fps mechanics I'm sorry to say that I definitely disagree. It is a necessity to be able to pick up a gun and have precision and the freedom to out shoot the opposing player. And again I'm just going off what respawn has said about that. To me that is a much needed and welcomed change. Sure it can lead to more camping but this game still moves fast enough and fluid enough to do whatever you want . I think we should all focus on the bright side to this amazing game and try to help it become more popular and successful to the masses. Constantly complaining when the game is not doing well I don't think will help anything , considering a lot of the complaints might just be subjective.
