Yes, hopefully sooner rather than later. I see so many comments where people are trying so hard to like the game and basically begging Respawn to give them a reason to stay and not get bored with the game. Hopefully there will be enough new maps (anything less than 3 is not enough). Hopefully there will be a coop mode like Frontier Defense. Hopefully there will be Generations 11 through 15 unlocked with challenges required to be completed before regenerating. None of these are asking for the world, because they are all things that were done in TF1. I would also like to see a multiplayer campaign or at least a mode where it is mixed half attrition/half amped hardpoint in a predictable pattern where I could still have a way of playing Amped Hardpoint even though the lobby is dead for the PC already. I mean, Ronin Prime? Really? Pfft These skins and camos do nothing for me. Forget the cosmetics, we need some meat in this game or people are going to get bored and walk away.

Gens 11-15 have to come eventually, there's currently no way to get the Stoic Dark skin for pilots because it's a G11 unlock and the cap is G10. If the other gens aren't coming this patch, they're coming the next.

I think there's a very fair amount of meat to the game already, but you don't really get to see any of it because of the balance issues. Yes, you see good variety of titans, but let's be honest, casual matches of Attrition are really decided by which team drops Tone first. That means the meta is about getting your meter filled as fast as possible, which means getting as many kills (minion or not) as possible, and sadly the most effective ways to get kills from a risk/reward perspective are with cheesy loadouts like A-Wall & Devotion/Hemlock. Who's actually gonna use the Spitfire or L-STAR over the Devotion, y'know? And sadly, the gamemodes that reward you for PTFO and going fast like Capture the Flag are really inactive.

I do agree we need more maps ASAP though. I think with a lot of changes the ones we have right now can be good, and maps like Eden and Exoplanet are actually pretty conducive to a healthy meta in some gamemodes, but maps like Crash Site or Complex are simply unsalvageable. I think the best we can realistically hope for is for Respawn to just make some good maps with fun parkour routes and less spots for pilot sentries already.

You make some very good points Funky.

I especially agree about Eden and Exoplanet being really good, but Crash Site and Complex being unsalvagable. I think this is something that is kind of overlooked when you look at the whole context of where the game stands. I think map-wise it is much worse than most even realize.

By the time they put out the next DLC, TF1 would have put out it's first DLC after it's launch in the same time frame, but let's say TF2's next DLC has 3 maps, if you really look at things it is still way behind.

15 = large, well designed maps (TF1 launch)
    +3 = large, well designed maps (TF1 DLC1)
18 = large, well designed maps

9 = small maps with choke points (TF2 launch)
-2 = maps that never should have made it out of concept phase (Crash Point and Complex)
7 = small maps with choke points (Actual launch #)
+1 = large, well designed map stolen from TF1 (First patch)
8 = (7 small maps with choke points, 1 large, well designed map)
+3* = small maps with choke points or large stolen from TF1 (TF2 DLC1)
11 (mix of small maps with choke points or stolen from TF1)
Please notice that even if they put out 3 maps, we are still 7 maps behind TF1.
And even if you want to give them credit for Crash Point and Complex, we are still 5 maps behind.
And, other than any stolen from TF1, they are smaller maps.

    * There is a caveat here. I'm assuming 3, because I think that should be the bare minimum. Personally, I think they should include 10 maps (even if they are all stolen from TF1) to at least get us back to where TF1 was at this point. However, in all honesty, I think they are going to go the other way and we will probably only get 1 or 2 maps and be expected to be excited about skins and camos. I sure hope I'm wrong, but that is the feeling I get from the lack of urgency I've felt so far from them.

I was never here for Titanfall 1, so I can't speak for its map quality except for Angel City, which is undeniably the best map in the game as it stands, despite its issues with things like A-Walls and Pilot Sentries. At its core, it's just a very very solid map. It has a lot of parkour routes with some very deliberately placed lanes for Titans to go down. You never really see those two things at the same time in Titanfall 2, it's like they decided that it should be a mutually exclusive concept. The new map design can still be acceptable, it's just that I notice that everyone's favorites are the ones that come closest to Titanfall 1's map design, and everyone's least favorites are the ones that stray the farthest, so... hope Respawn can find a nice in-between if they insist on sticking to this new lane centric style.

Ultimately, I don't mind the sheer volume of maps that may or may not come, just how good they are. Counter Strike players can play on dust2 for literal years without getting bored (okay, well, without getting very bored.) I still don't think Angel City would be our analogue to that, even if we could select maps on our own, with the aforementioned issues with A-Walls and sentries. I think maps without workable sightlines to roofs are gonna prove to be an issue unless they are seriously, seriously retooled, which I don't see happening, considering how secretive and resistant Respawn has been about simple stat changes to a few guns and titans. There's got to be a solution somewhere in there, though.

Yes, Angel City is a gem. There were some really beautifully designed maps in TF1. Even after playing the game for 2 years and 9 months, I still stumble across something I either never noticed, or I new it was there, but I neglected to realize what a beautiful purpose it served. For example, the map called Sand Trap has an entire sub level canal you can use to quickly get across the entire map without having to risk getting killed on the surface. Conversely, the map called Rise has an entire upper level extending up into the skies that you can also use to quickly get from one end of the map to the other virtually unseen. The map Nexus has a giant tower in the middle with zip lines extending out to the edges of the map in about 6 different directions. I have often mentioned that TF2 should have raised it up a notch with wallrunning titans. There were actually some maps that almost would have allowed this already in TF1. Training Ground (if you removed the ribbing around the edges), War Games, Zone 18, actually even parts of Angel City now that I think of it.

Respawn would be doing themselves a favor by releasing all the T1 maps into T2. They should create 5 new maps and then re release 5 T1 maps......at the same time.

They are just too nice to not be included.......

Yes, there is a thin channel that runs from one end of the map to the other, from where Hardpoints A and C would be. It's probably the equivalent of 8 to 10 feet wide and you can wallrun all the way across, but you have to be careful, because if you mess up and miss a wall, you drop to your death in a bottomless pit.

Ah! I know where it is! I've always given it a miss as I figured with my skills it would be a quick death!

None of the new maps deserve to even be mentioned in the same breath as Rise, Zone 18, War Games, or Sand Trap. I personally never liked Fracture and played it reluctantly. And what about all the sub level stuff in Overlook, and the different levels in Air Base, and the ability of a map like Swampland to allow for close quarters players, campers, and the like. Just thinking about those maps now makes me jones for going back to TF1. Anyone who even remotely likes TF2 and hasn't played TF1 will be amazed with it.

Oh, you are so right. These new maps don't even belong in the same universe as the maps from TF1. Yes, Overlook had some very cool sub level design and it has awesome zip lines that worked perfect for CTF. Oh, Air Base was beautifully designed. It is one of my favorite Attrition maps. And the trees in Swampland, oh man so much fun using wallrun to bounce from tree to tree.

Oh, I've never left TF1 my friend. And with TF2 being as pathetic as it is, it's been all the more reason to stay in TF1.

I really hope that someday it could be a silver lining of all of this, that perhaps enough players that like TF2 will get curious and go and try TF1 and realize what a far superior game it is, and then maybe enough people will lobby Respawn to make TF3 be created with TF1 as it's basis rather than TF2. That would be a sweet day if that were to happen.

As much as I would like to see them trash Complex and Crash Site, it won't happen and I would make you a bet that if we are lucky they will give us one map! Just don't see the energy or commitment from Respawn to do more.

Sorry to be such a negative "nanny" but just look at past performance (TF2 only) as a predictor of the future.

I agree.......I'm not seeing the love from Respawn on the game as a whole.....content....maps.......everything is just so empty feeling.......

In T1 I felt like I was submerged in the game....like I was part of it. The maps got better and better........it seemed like they had a INDEPTH plan..T2 lacks that..

I hear you, my word to describe the game is "shallow" to me it is not empty there are some good parts I really enjoy but it has no depth.

No need to apologize DARK. I agree 1000%. I think 1 map as well and we will be expected to be OH SO EXCITED about Prime Titan Skins and camos that aren't we so lucky that we can pay them money for. Your perception is spot on. There is no sense of urgency or concern about the success, health or life of this game.

Yes, 2 years and 9 months later, after having played TF1 daily, I am still amazed at how I still find or notice new things I never saw before. The TF1 maps were designed for freedom as a pilot or titan. The TF2 maps make me feel so boxed in.
