like i said Respawn has gone to EA's route, a sell out a cash cow oriented focus on making their game decision a total bad route to take, developers and designer should never ever use the mentality of a board of director that focus on profit only, they need to listen to their loyal fans that actually pay cash and time to support them , take Cdprojek for instant, small studio , their support is truly passionate towards their fans listen to feedback and patch the game weekly basis even, to support the fans. truly is by a gamers for a gamers....

sure respawn wants to grow, but following EA's business model is totally the worse choice they can ever take, you will isolate your loyal fans and turn your IP into just another generic mindless shooter with another skin and texture , no edge, no finest no charm at all , the reason we like titan1 is because its totally NOT like COD or CS or BF , nor its as extreme like quake or unreal but rather a middle ground..... that ,my friend is an INNOVATIVE REVOLUTION in FPS genre.... instead of growing through your roots ,u abandon it to follow the mass of zombie fps out there.... well respawn only signing their own death contract... pc population is so dead it wont survive 2017, i dont think it gonna survive mid year... there is however still some hope, if they release all old maps , give us custom titan load out etc... and balance back what makes titanfall unique... NOT RELEASING COD or CS like mode or maps..... dont be that dumb kid that try to act cool to fit the mass of dumb kids... be yourself RESPAWN... be odd, be BOLD... be UNIQUE

God how I love a dreamer, unfortunately dreams will not solve this situation. EN if you think for one moment that EA does not have Respawn tied up in an iron clad contract with performance deliverables then you are not dreaming you are delusional. The sad thing is I suspect that Respawn have not met those deliverables and now EA is forcing them to do what they want!

Now I don't mean to be insulting or disrespectful it is just that the reality is that EA have been at this a while and appear to be pretty ruthless and even Machiavellian in their business dealings. If you think for one moment that Respawn can just pick up their toys and move on you are sadly mistaken.

I am the first one to believe in positive thinking, hell I have spoken to audiences throughout the US and Canada with that as the theme message, but you first have to be in control of your decisions. It is sad to say that Respawn probably gave up much of that control when they signed on with EA.

In a perfect world Respawn should have done what you say before entering into any agreement with EA, then they could have given them the "finger" and continue to have control on their future.

I am an optimist and believe the game is strong enough that given a couple of good breaks things will turn around for the better...

Hwoarang5 you are absolutely correct in all that you say. Unfortunately it is too late because they are tied into a contract with EA who I suspect are pretty much calling the shots and as I said above Respawn is locked in - for now!

One thing that surprises me is that with all the positive support TF1 is getting why has there not been a migration back to that game - the numbers are worse than before. Just a thought.

It is interesting to me because have you ever played Unreal Tournament? It was a very fast-paced, unique FPS. It's the game I came up on more than anything else.

Don't worry DARK. I respect you very much and you don't have to worry about insulting me. I am a dreamer and I am proud of it and embrace it. Believe it or not, I am a very positive person as well unless I am not happy with the direction something has taken (such as TF2). It has been pointed out to me by a Pastor I had and a boss that I've had, that I am what you would call a "Validator". When everyone else is questioning themselves, I point out what makes them special and important. I am a huge fan of Tony Robbins and have listened to his original "Personal Power" program all the way through at least 3 times. I used to listen to so many self help books that I started sounding like a walking, talking self help book, so I had to stop, because I was driving myself crazy. :)

Anyway, I get what you are saying about the fact that the ship has already sailed and they gave up control a long time ago to EA.

Maybe I didn't explain what I meant clearly enough. What I meant, is that even if that is the case, I would rather have had them break their contract and go through what ever legal battles they had to in order to retain the rights to the Titanfall brand name, even if that took a couple of years. Then, use crowdfunding and create what would be the best video game of all time. I truly believe if they had done that, it would have been not only the best video game of all time, but the most successful financially of all time, so all of the waiting and legal pain in the short term would have been totally worth it. The reason I think that is because, like I said before, even gamers who never played Titanfall, even gamers who have no intention of playing the new game, even people outside of the gaming community, are all going to be willing to support them for giving EA the big middle finger, especially if they were willing to go slug it out in court with them.

    Here are some examples:

Wasteland 2 - this was a sequel to a 1988 video game - won Game of the Year and was #1 on Steam Sales
    https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/inxile/wasteland-2

Star Citizen - this is probably going to be the best PC game ever
    https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/cig/star-citizen

My point is that both of these had goals of well short of $1 million and exceeded that to well over $2 million, but neither of them were riding that extra wave that Respawn would of having given EA the middle finger. I truly believe if they set a goal of say $3 million, they would probably get $20 million.

I think I did play the original version of that game Ik0n and it was pretty good. I enjoyed it. I don't know why I never got back to it.

alas ... that's what i suspect too., its far too late for respawn, ever since the beta i knew they were dogs under the leash of EA.... so sad... i suspect too the reason the break off from COD team wasnt for creative purposes but rather cash cowing for EA ,hoping for a big break.. too bad no good can come from EA's concept of business model.. it truly is a sad day for all gamers.. when good developers sell out their soul.... instead of gamers/fans oriented,

as for titan1 , my party did visit it back the problem that plague still exist for pc, esp unstable ping, and lack of gamemode and population, while on console its still very much alive i heard...

I'm actually surprised though DARK in the other direction. I was affraid TF2 would pull so many people from TF1 that it would be unplayable. I still play it every day on the PC and can get a Campaign or Attrition game any time I want. I even played the Hardpoint Domination lobby for 2 hours yesterday. Man was that fun, because that is what I cut my teeth on for the first 6 months.

Why am I not surprised, I too am a big fan of Tony and in fact took my management team (21 managers) to see him when he was in Toronto several years ago. This was after I traveled to Chicago to attend his Fire Walk Weekend. Yes I did do the fire walk, and it had a huge impact on my life.

For years I had a personal goal to read one business management book and one motivational book/tape program every month. I did this for over 20 years, so I hear you.

    Now back to TF2:
It would be nice if they could challenge EA in court but this isn't EA's first rodeo and you can bet they have Respawn in an iron clad contract that would bankrupt them and cause the loss of rights to the game and its concept. Perhaps I am wrong but I can tell you I have put contracts in place that would be like that and no one ever won against us. Remember EA has vast resources to fight a legal challenge and they can just play the waiting game and let Respawn run out of resources. Pretty common strategy of major corporations with the resources and will to take a hard nosed approach.

I could be all wet and lets hope I am, if so why haven't Respawn acted...

I don't share you view; we have had many instances where Respawn has been listening, the question is are they really able to address things. Let's give them the benefit of the doubt and see what comes out with the next DLC and the announced path forward message. I have hope!

listening? before the two beta trial there were already massive complains from fans and new players alike of the dumb down system, and the same complain AFTER both trials......spread across a loooooooooong time........ yet i dont see them listening, wild life interaction and level details has always been severely mention many times in titan1, dont see them listen too, the only thing the listen to is cry babies COD or CS players over weapon nerv , smart pistol nerv locked as default weapon, they still ignoring the fact of t he microstutters happening and audio cracking randomly on several maps, and yeah the acknowledge these bugs but still no action being taken, instead... releasing patch to nerv weapon and makes COD/CS kiddies happy with stupid COD/CS like maps and mode..... that is not listening bro.... they didnt even bother to reply us either.. and were are in their official forum.........facepalm..

Well, I think you are right and EA has been this way for a long, long time, so I don't blame them at all. Vince should have done his research and known this right from the start and frankly I find it very inappropriate for him to now be acting like anything is EA's fault. He made his bed and now he doesn't want to sleep in it. He has no right to be upset with them. He knew exactly who he was getting into bed with just like everyone with half a brain did.
