Titan Brawl is Awesome!

I agree 1000% Derrame!!! It was really fun brawling on the same team.

 

Absolutely love the enthusiasm, but I'll be one that has to say - what the heeeell??

Titan brawl? so far first thoughts are they are stabbing at the dark, if there was a boring mode that's been introduced, then I must be bored. Nothing wrong with LTS, this, which just never seems to timer out to end, seems to just be exactly as they call it, brawling.....

I was expecting something fantastic...what happened!!

(I feel the sights training upon me as I sign out.....lol)

 

Neither do I sometimes, so I feel ya. I personally think it's a bit of a mash up and for the hell of it. Spawn, smash, die, respawn, do it all again, how was that an improvement?. While many might think it's cool, does it not take away the skill factor in that 1 or 2 pilots are left with having survived at the end of a round? There is no governing in Titan Brawl, whereas LTS shows you up if your good, or needing improvement. You either have bad days, or have a good day.

Titan brawl is too easy for everyone to be common, how accurate is the scoring going to be when 1 titan is being snotted by 4 titans at the same time? then you respawn and walla!!! the camping campers that have figured out the spawn areas are waiting while you stand up on creaky titan legs from the overly fast orbital drop.

Basically, what I am saying is, I thought new maps was a great idea. New modes? I'm still having terms coming to grips with Live Fire (which I do like I guess) which I think is a cheap adaption of CTF after really going at it.

Live Fire is cool though, in short doses. A real challenge lays ahead of the true CTF matches though, depending on who's playing, many dropping out of those now too.

LTS must be upset about Titan Brawl, while it might be cool to smash the crap out of each other and respawn over and over, I have to admit after reading all the negativity and nit picking here on the forum of late, that I would have thought many would have been disappointment at such a mindless mode against LTS and the point of Titan warfare.

Doesn't seem you have to be a good titan pilot in Titan brawl, it's all on all over the place. You do in LTS or Attrition though.

Forgive me, I do play for more hours a day than a man should be allowed, I'm no expert or gaming guru that's for sure, but I'm going to make it to level 100. I know nothing of many other games Titanfall is my bread. My titanfall credentials of today vs a year ago now I believe give me the opportunity to do as many others do here, and speak the mind - whereas earlier days I would have not, just being a grasshopper and just glad to be here.

However I appreciate the fact they dropped it, and will play it. Some days I just select all and rotate through everything. Just believe maybe they are listening to the negative just a bit too much.....I feel Titan Brawl is a bit of a band aid to keep people happy, and if it's intention is just to beat the crap and no skill intended, then they got it right.

Yes, you nailed it Derrame! This is exactly why I love it. It allows you to play your true style without having to worry about your titan getting killed.

I personally feel everyone's opinion is good to hear even if they have only been playing 1 day. Sometimes the best wisdom comes from the mouths of babes. When you are so locked in like some of us are, it is easy to get blinders on. It's nice to have some fresh perspective from the outside.

I can certainly understand why those who love LTS might be very upset about even the existence of Titan Brawl and if LTS is their thing, I am not going to begrudge them being upset about it. I'm sure I would be furious if LTS was my thing.

I would like to just lay out some reasons why I believe Titan Brawl is beneficial:
1) *Gives brand new players a place to exclusively work on their titan fighting skills.
2) *Gives veterans who suck at titan fighting (such as myself) a place to exclusively work on their titan fighting skills.
3) *Gives all players a place to exclusively try out and learn how to fight in different titans or new ones that will come out.
4) Recreates the best part of the Single Player Campaign, "Trial By Fire", where you fought along side Sarah in her red titan.
5) Puts the titan back as the centerpiece in a game called Titanfall.

* The reason the first 3 are important is because in normal modes you have to wait TOO LONG to get a titan and then if you are not good, you lose it immediately and you never have much time in a titan to get to learn. Also, for those of us who suck at fighting in titans, LTS is actually worse. You have all of the hardcore LTS players in there who play it all the time, so an unskilled titan fighting veteran (like me) or a brand new player dies immediately and then has waste 5 minutes of their life (on each round) watching a TV show of hardcore titan fighters that we are not interested in watching. That does not help you learn. Only time in a titan helps you learn. Even if you die 15 times. At least you can get right back on that bike immediately and try again.

I personally believe this mode could be a magnet for new players, because Titan Brawl is fun even if you lose and even if you die 15 times. It's still a TON OF FUN. I don't believe it can be understimated how beneficial this mode could be to the Titanfall brand as a whole. This mode even offsets the non-existent matchmaking algroithm. Like I said, no matter what, it's still fun. I believe this mode will attract new players, keep them around, which will good for the user base for all other modes, and I believe this mode could unseat Attrition as the most popular mode.

 

First off, I've had fun in this mode.

However, how does this mode off-set the "non existent matchmaking algorithm"? All I've faced recently is clans and when it's 5v5 Titans it's much easier to dominate a team that isn't working together than it would be to in a game mode like Attrition.

 

Good point Ik0n. It was not a good choice of words or at least I didn't explain it well. Here is what I meant by that: In modes where I really care about winning (especially Amped Hardpoint), the non-existent matchmaking algroithm really bugs the crap out of me. You are correct that the non-existent matchmaking algorithm is still a problem in Titan Brawl and you are probably right that it may be even worse at times. I guess what I meant for me personally, as well as how it probably would feel for a newer player, the effects of the non-existent matchmaking algrorithm don't bother me as much in this mode, because even if I die 15 times and my team loses badly, this mode is still really fun to me. I think this is how new players would feel as well. So, I guess a better way to say it would have been to say that this mode makes me not care about the non-existent matchmaking algorithm rather than saying that it offsets the non-existent matchmaking algorithm.

 

Yeah, I'm with you there Derrame.

Here is the beautiful thing to me about this mode. I have already learned more about fighting in a titan in the last 24 hours than I had learned in the entire prior 6 months, because I've actually gotten to spend quality consecutive time in a titan.

Yes, it is a beautiful thing. And it is so simple. It is like, "Why wasn't this even a mode right out of the gate in TF1?" Speaking of that, if you really want to make me happy Respawn, please go back and add this mode to TF1.
