Hi mate, bit late to that party, knew that all along, and speak for yourself, I haven't been wasting my time here as I didn't join here to yell at respawn.

 

Thanks Derrame! I kind of knew this wasn't the official forum either. I just liked this forum very much. I didn't come here to specifically yell at respawn either, but to talk about the good and the bad with other people who play the games. Does part of that end up voicing unhappiness with some things Respawn has done? Sure, and it is nice to have others to commisserate with, even if it is just 1 or 2 people that understand what you are going through. It is nice to be there for them and nice for them to be there for you.

I've got to tell you though, Respawn should really be ashamed of themselves for at least 3 reasons:
1) I know how you are Derrame. You are a very thoughtful and reasonable person. You are very passionate about the game(s) and you are not one sided. You will share what you think is good and what you think is bad, but you try to do it in a constructive way. If they are in fact deleting your posts, because they don't line up with the propoganda they are trying to push, that is censorship.
2) It is shameful, because it proves they did not learn their lesson. The problem with TF2 was that they listened to everyone who hated TF1 (their COD buddies) and not anyone who truly loved TF1, which is why we ended up with Call of Duty: Titan Edition. So now what are they doing on their official forum? From what you are saying, it sounds like they are quashing all ideas that don't think CODified Titanfall is great. So they are still listening to the same people that drove them to make all of the horrendous decisions. Shameful!!!
3) It is shameful if they are not poking around in here every day. There are so many good ideas that fly around in here. Is it really asking too much to take 5 or 10 minutes a day and just browse the site (that is dedicated to your games) to see if there are any interesting ideas? If I was a developer, I would be doing that.

Actually - your posts didn't get deleted. You got railed because you came in and, when people expressed an opinion different than yours, you started calling people names and being insulting, and then you just never came back.

I will give you some of the benefit of the doubt, in that with any of the EA official forums, there's a bug that if you go back and edit a post, it tends to get lost or gets moved to an "awaiting approval" queue somewhere that the mods don't have access to. It's happened to most of us in the official forums.

As to the rest of it, I don't know if they come in here or not - I know that the CM reads and filters a ton of stuff from a ton of sources to the devs and whatnot, so it's possible, but I couldn't tell you for sure.

But to say your posts are being deleted is simply untrue.

Yes Magik, I agree with you. I joined the official forum about a week ago, because I wanted to see if what Derrame was saying was true and:
1) I saw Derrame's post was still there.
2) Even though I have been on for only about a week, what you are describing has already happened to me as well.

Sounds like it was a misunderstanding, but as Sgt said, thank you for clearing that up.

 

If @Magikf1ngers or myself didn't delete your posts, they either got caught in the spam/mod queue as he mentioned, or Jay deleted them. I don't think he did, but the forums are very tempomental at times. Several people have noticed their posts/threads mysteriously disappearing, they are not being deleted! If a post is breaking forum rules or is inappropriate or incredibly aggressive, yes, we remove them. We generally leave you a note stating it was and why we deleted it.

No, these are not the official forums, but it's a great community, most of us have been here from the beginning with Titanfall 1. @Magikf1ngers and I are an extra set of eyes to Respawn. I'm a mod at the official forums, Reddit, and here, if I see something that needs brought to Jay/Respawn's attention here, or at Reddit, we make sure they are aware.

Also, I don't feel things that happen at the official forums necessarily need to be brought up here, or at Reddit.

 

@Laddie13 makes a good point. Maybe just bring it up with the official forum, you may just find a solution to the problem.

 

@Derrame. I just learned something, there's a verification tool at the official forums, until a user is verified, your posts are susceptible to being caught by the spam filter. I've gone ahead and verified you, I don't think you should see any of your posts disappearing now.

@Derrame - @Laddie13 is correct - what happens over there doesn't need to be brought in here. However, since you did, I called you on it. Basically - you made a long review post that no one responded to (that I saw) and then you posted up something else about how the game is now for COD players, the smart pistol should be made primary, and a lot of stuff like that.

People disagreed, you got on them basically telling them that they were A: not taking them seriously, B: wrong because they didn't agree with you, so they responded in kind. I'm not defending any name calling, but the fact of the matter is this: You have to respect others opinions if you want yours to be respected.

Fact is- I've been working to get the official forums to be more welcoming and whatnot. You posted there, came back here all indignant because you got caught in a bug in the software, and because people, essentially, didn't agree with you.

Without getting into the details of that thread, because they are all items that have been debated to death since day one of TF2's launch - I'm going to address this the way I do with the folks in those forums:

Just because Respawn went a different direction than you might like doesn't mean the game is broken, screwed up, or any other adjective like that you care to name. It means they took a risk and went a different direction. That's it. MANY of the changes from 1 I didn't like at the beginning. A few I still don't, but in time, many grew on me, and i see what the vision was. That's MY opinion. However, I'm not going to belittle you or anyone else on having differing opinions, and I'm sure as hell not going to fault Respawn for going in a bold, new direction. Additionally - to say they don't care, and that they don't listen, is 100% incorrect. After becoming Mod and getting to know Jay at a different level - I can see that they absolutely do care and listen.

I tell people that all the time in the official forums. I also tell them this: It's okay to disagree. It's okay to be passionate about it. It's NOT okay to insult someone else's opinion just because you don't agree with it - and when you DO insult someone else's opinion, then you have to expect to get it in return.

That's all I'm saying. If people want to get the truth, they can go over and read those threads and posts and draw their own conclusions.

 

@Magikf1ngers: awesome response. It is nice to hear the inside view on things. Thank you from an unbiased observer.

 

Please don't speak for everyone who absolutely loved Titanfall. I loved Titanfall and I'm happy with Titanfall 2.

Did you not read what I said? There's a forum bug that causes messages to get deleted. No one deleted it. You got caught in a software bug. It happens to a lot of people there until EA fixes their forum software.

You are completely wrong about the devs not caring. That's your perception, and you're entitled to it, but it's wrong. They've demonstrated over and over again that they do listen.

It's comments like the last part of your post here that got folks riled up over there anyhow. Or can you not see how insulting it is to insult folks' intelligence because they like a game?

If you're not happy - it's very simple. Don't play it, and don't complain about it. Bonus points for not getting mad and / or insulted when the people that like it disagree with you.
