I don't think it is appropriately named. It should be called the "Titanfall 2 - LA-Z-BOY Edition". :) It's basically for those who don't want to have to do the work to unlock anything. I don't see what's so "Ultimate" about that.

how much more great dlc you figure will be out by xmas.
you think i 2018 the full potential will be out if so then all good.

only time will tell as focus has been changed to other projects .

you tend to see editions like this close to the end cycle of a game i could be wrong but it may be more of a push to gain some extra steam .

    other projects,
Star Wars, there are already other teams working on SW games, why Respawn too!? :(
Respawn should stay focused on TF

I agree with you there Derrame, but I don't think they are. Respawn is working on the 3rd person Star Wars game and their big brains had to probably put in at least a lot of consulting time into the mobile 3rd person game Titanfall: Assault being created by Particle City. None of that time adds anything to the Titanfall 1st person world now or gains any knowledge to help it in the future. I think they are spreading themselves too thin. Focus on the Titanfall 1st person franchise and make the best game you can. Let the Star Wars games, mobile games and 3rd person games to someone else.

    If they don't release a bunch more maps...and I mean a bunch...it's bad..very very bad....

I consider the game to be a failure.

I've been trying to show patience with this game....but the boredom I get from not having enough maps kills the game for me..

Respawn has made a huge mistake not creating enough maps...

For them to think it's acceptable having as few maps as they do tells me they are simply just not smart........

i totally agree, i was waiting for more, and bigger, maps since months
i think, in all the remaining dlc's maybe they add one more map

i hope im wrong, and they add at least 10 new maps
    brand new maps
i accept Fracture, Swampland and Overlook from tf1 :)

    edit
i dont see the game as failure, most of the players love it, but im disappointed with quality and amount of maps

that article says only one new thing: probably there won't be new content for TF2

and Respawn does not know if there will be a new game

    sad, sad news :(

    i want TF3!

Well, there you have it, out of the CEO's mouth (VZ = Vince Zampella):

"So with Frontier Defense out the door, can we expect to see more Titanfall 2 content like this after the release of the Ultimate Edition?
VZ: Probably not. We want to work on new stuff."

OK, so now I want to remind everyone that at the 1 year mark, which will be 10/28/17, the "free DLC" argument flies out the window, because on it's 1 year anniversary everyone received all TF1 DLC for free if they had not already bought it. At that time, TF1 had 24 large, well designed maps. What will TF2 have at that point? Maybe 15 if we're lucky. That's what TF1 had at launch. So what exactly was "free" here when you got 9 less maps? AND, out of the 15 (if we get one more yet), 5 will have been TF1 maps, 1 was a mish mash of "The Gauntlet" training ground, and the other 9 were small, choked-pointed maps that were not designed or engineered very well. Heck Complex and Crash Point should have never made it out of the concept phase. So, as far as new creations of maps go, you had maybe 7 playable, but still sub par actual new creations. So, again, what exactly was "free" here? But yet they sure got the ride the hell of that "free DLC" sales pitch horse, didn't they?

I didn't get that out of it Derrame.

VZ: "It's important for us to keep the franchise going. "We're doing more Titanfall," which is the quote I'm supposed to say. We have our franchise creative director, who's in charge of safeguarding the franchise in multiple formats and making sure it continues to grow. There's some other things we're doing that haven't been announced just yet, but we're heavily invested in the Titanfall universe."

VZ:"We're working on more Titanfall--we're not announcing what that is yet, but there's a few other things in the works"

It sounds like there will be more Titanfall, which might be good. The big problem with his statements there is "We have our franchise creative director, who's in charge of safeguarding the franchise in multiple formats and making sure it continues to grow." This means Steve Fukuda and I will never forgive him for what he did to TF2. He actually believes the design changes were good. Unless he admits they were wrong and goes back to TF1 as the base to build from, I'm not really going to be interested. I want any shred of traditional FPS stuff ripped out of the game and put back to the uniqueness that was TF1. I want any cartooniness ripped out of the game and put back to the adult battlefield feel of TF1. Unfortunately, I think Steve is not one who is willing to admit mistakes, so he will want to consider TF2 as a good base and build from there and just push it even less Titanfall-like and more traditional FPS-like. And having his hands in the mobile game will probably just influence pushing the cartooniness of Titanfall even more. More traditional FPS and more cartoony. NO THANKS!!! You can keep it if that's where you're going.

that can be the mobile game Titanfall: Assault or a new mobile game,
there was a previous mobile game canceled. Titanfall: Frontline

    .
i agree that the game is not a failure to a certain extent.
but it had some epic decisions the held back the game . all of this was made clear from the beginning , from when they launch the test.
and how long they took to give out info.
many of us here have even foreseen the outcome or very close , like i said only time would tell and so said so done.
hopefully tf3 will be better and the devs learn from there mistakes and lessons learned which worked in tf1 and tf2 .

am not surprised by the article as some if not most i was expecting to happen.

if only the pc mod community could have gotten a crack at the code to mode the game the community would have done wonders i believe .

You're right Derrame. We just don't know and I really don't like them spreading themselves thin. They have people making excuses for them not solving major things like lag, matchmaking and cheaters because they are a "small shop". Well then why the hell are you sticking your hands in all of these other cookie jars (Star Wars, consulting for mobile game, and who knows what else). You don't get to have it both ways. You don't get excused from solving major issues for being small, but then get to take on multiple other projects that will not directly improve your core game.

Yeah Trini, man do I wish there was a way for those who truly loved TF1 to somehow band together and obtain the rights to TF1 (code and all) through crowdfunding or something and build out from the beautiful, unique masterpiece the way it should have been done.

At this point I am not even considering purchasing T3 if it ever comes out.

I feel so ripped off by T2 it's left a very poor taste in my mouth..

The game itself is ok...I've Learned to accept it as what it is..........

    That being said.......

The amount of Maps is disgraceful and all parties involved in the development of the game should be ashamed of themselves to think that having as few maps as they do is acceptable.

The Live Fire Mode in my opinion is another disgrace. It's small...cramped...and it's a shell of the real game attrition. Imho I think they didn't want to put time and effort into big luxurious maps............instead they made a bunch of little shitty ones shorten the time limit..make it like last Titan standing and all the fanboys on the frontier have rushed to the front to give props on a less than subpar game..

The game as a whole is a fail...

    I know some will disagree...

Don't even get me started on Coliseum...seriously? Respawn should be ashamed of themselves.

The game is NOT an extension of T1 it's nothing like the game. It's two different things.

Yah the concept of robots and pilots is the same but the gameplay is undeniably two different things...

    Lack of maps......

Even the new maps are shitty.........none of them are great......

    Exoplanet
    Black water canal...

    Game is a failure...

I agree with a lot of what you said Kernel and especially this:

That is my biggest problem. TF1 was my favorite video game of all time and I just wanted more of it. There are thousands of DIFFERENT games out there I could play. I was not looking for a DIFFERENT game.

What was actually 90% of the problem was that in making TF2 they primarily listened to those who hated TF1 instead of listening to those who absolutely loved and embraced the beautiful piece of art they had created called Titanfall, so what you ended up with was an enormous waste of resources to make unnecessary changes to create an inferior product that lacks the beauty and uniqueness of the original and would probably be more appropriately named "Call of Duty: Titan Edition". Thats the root source of 90% of the problems.

    @KernelClamjuice

    i agree with you

please consider to post that in the official forum, so maybe Respawn read it and take that feedback into account,
i'm the only one giving realistic feedback there, and not praising the mistakes

I can vouch for Derrame taking bullets over there. I've played in TF1 and TF2 with Derrame and love watching him, because his play style in game is exactly as in the forums, honest and right in their faces. No fear. :)
