I very much agree with you about the minion detector and sp, but I hated the arc cannon and triple threat, but see I am willing to compromise. I would be happy for you to have the arc cannon and triple threat in order to have the sp and minion detector back. :)

And yes, I liked the Rank system too.

Absolutely agree with you on TF2 titan play. It is the biggest thing that makes it unenjoyable to me.

Glad you are enjoying some LTS in TF1 Battle.

Battle, can you imagine how fun Titan Brawl would be in TF1 with those titans? I would probably lose my job, because I would never want to stop playing it. :)

Must admit I did not read the long list of posts. But the main point is addressed here. In short I love TF2, just like I loved TF1. For me it is all about learning new tricks, combinations and skills. Playing with more skillful and mismatched opponents only challenges me more and forces me to be more aggressive in my learning and strategy building. It will be impossible for me to ever get bored as there is no ceiling on what new things you can learn. Even though there are numerous features I hate about TF2, I must admit that the opportunities to do cool things are infinitely greater. I still wish I could grapple on to a 40 mm she'll and fly across the map, But just do not think it will ever happen. Ha ha.

    point exactly.
if you did read the post you would see that the talking points reflects to what you are trying to point out. fact with customizing weapons and Titans with weapons rather than locked in class systems would give like you said , an infinite amount and greater amount of opportunity.
to your point it would be even impossible to get bored with different weapon load outs. hence the design of titanfall ,it is the opposite to what you seem to be pointing out as the titans were designed in part 2 to be predictive. hence the orange glow hence the titan class cores hence the locked in weapons.

this is not what you just like or hate . but also what can be improved or new ideas.
while the class system is a good concept. to make it work with just one thing but to have a variety, and tf2 does not have that.
there are a lot of little things that would make it a whole lot better that how it is currently .

mismatched games i agree in time will force a player f played enough to get better and possible play more aggressive. agreed.
but take into account not all players may have that time or drive like you do. hence the limited player base in the game now.
eventually you would end up playing by your self or a different game because of the said mismatched system which is flawed.

so why don't you talk more about the grapple system , it can possible be a new feature to be improved.
to fly across the map. how about a titan toss. via team effort. or possible an eject system choice in load outs. instead of just up and out your titan can toss you towards a target or a selected direction.

finish your idea by having that conversation. it could be the next great thing to come.

the question is , if given the opportunity, what would you have from part 1 part 2 and new possible ideas you have that could be combined together to make a better titanfall game.

1.what would you remove or add to make it better and why?
    2. what worked and what did not in both games ?
    3. what do you enjoy the most of the both game and what do you not ?
    4. what are the unique things that make both game play the way they are ?
    5. what can the DEV's do to appeal to a variety of gamer's ?
    6. can it all be implemented and function to the core system ?

these are just a few questions i also ask my self , and have read from or view from others. i would like to read what your views are on them..

Thanks for the thoughtful response. Lots of good points and I agree. Certainly there are things to wish for, especially in the Titan options. I have really enjoyed playing FD lately, but only because of the Aegis upgrades. I wish they would incorporate more Titan flexibility in the other modes. But in the end I can say that I am enjoying the game for what it is given the amount of time I have to spend with it. As long as the franchise is not abandoned and as long as they keep trying to bolster the game it is alright with me of they explore options and be creative at their own pace. They will do things that piss is off and disappoint, and they will please too. Despite going into left field a bit, they have managed not to totally kill the soul of the game....yet. Kernel always says he wants more maps and I agree. Now, back to my day job.

yes, the game should have had more games already at launch

and free dlc should add more new maps, maps from first game is ok, but brand new maps are needed,

and titans in tf2 are already taking damage from the moment you get in, and no regenerating shields, and they are slow, so, get in, shoot something, and eject, in few seconds, they are totally expendable, like a burn card

Great description. TF2 titans are like having a burn card that gives you a short-lived titan.

    Yes, I agree.

You are so right Derrame. When I look at TF1 and everything they did, especially being that it was their first game they ever created, it is absolutely impressive about how they did almost everything right. It just makes it that much more upsetting that they chose to unnecessarily take steps backwards in so many areas in TF2.

    How does that saying go?

Burn me once shame on you......

Burn me twice shame on me....

I can't believe anyone would even consider buying a 3rd version of this game....

I think they really wanted and tried to push Live Fire....

A train and I tried to get into a match yesterday ......peak hours on a Friday night! It never happened........it simply said...searching....searching........searching.......

We ultimately decided to just move on....

Too many things were and are wrong with this game........for it to be good. A very few amount of people are digging it..

Only a Moron would buy camo skins with real money in a game where you can't even see them.....

I've never been able to get over the Glowing red light skipping acrossed the screen..

    Idiots....at Respawn.....

I believe you are absolutely right about that Kernel. I remember when they first included Live Fire, I saw it mentioned that it was something they were playing in-house that they really enjoyed so they wanted to put it in the game.

I personally believe that is a microcosm that sums up what TF2 is as a whole. It was a complete and thorough exercise in self indulgence with complete disregard for the identity and uniqueness created in the first game and those who had fallen in love with it.

We heard cries that TF1 lacked content part of which was that it did not have a SPC, so we are going to create a SPC even though our CEO has made the case that including a SPC exhausts 80% of your resources and leaves the MP being bare bones.

We heard cries that only 2 titan loadouts were used and it was boring, so we are going to create 6 preset loadouts and try to create hero personalities because we think that is cool in other games. Forget the fact that you could completely customize all of the important stuff and take the gear you wanted into battle and supply your own personality with 192 possible combinations.

We heard cries that TF1 lacked content part of which was lack of customization, so even though we just removed the important customization above (the actual tools you take into battle), we are going to allow you to make your titan, pilot and gun pink even though you can't really see it anyway.

Oh, and now that we've allowed you to make those things pink, we are going to open a cosmetic store so we can make some money since we are not getting any money for the "free DLC" that we are not delivering.

Having come from the COD world, our ears have been burning from all of our friends in that world who despised TF1 because they could not sit in one precious spot and get their kill streaks, what with large maps, smart pistols and strong/fast titans flying all around, so...
-9 small, choke pointed maps to force congestion so those precious spots would be available
-slow, weak, clunky titans with no regenerating shields that are essentially short-lived titan burn cards
-complete removal of the smart pistol (sorry the boost doesn't count)

So, having dumped 80% of resources in the SPC and another large chunk of what was left changing titans, we only had time to create those 9 small, choke-pointed maps. Ahh, but don't worry, all that "free DLC" is coming. Oh, wait, we need to go on vacation for 2 months. See you in January.

Back from vacation. Man are we having fun shooting each other in this small space with no titans. Hey, I have an idea. These maps are so much smaller and easier to create. How about if we sell this thing we are enjoying as a new mode called Live Fire and then whenever we are putting out a new map for it we can get credit for putting out a new map in general even though it is probably 10% the size of a normal map and can't be used in any modes that have titans in a game called Titanfall. Not to mention, all of those COD buddies who were setting our ears on fire will love this as well.

Hey guys, its pretty obvious we're just not going to be putting much out, so how about this? How about we create this thing called Frontier News Network where we can keep telling people what we are going to tell them. Kind of like when you go to a seminar and the speaker keeps telling you what they are going to tell you and they never get to it until the last half hour, so they could have just told you it in 30 minutes instead of wasting your entire day. This is what you do when you don't have much to deliver. Lots of talk. Lots of sales pitch. Followed by very little content in the end.

Hey, I have another idea, since we are not going to be putting much out, lets sell minor things as being huge.
-Prime Titan skins (its just a stinking cosmetic) - not a new map or anything
-Pilot Executions (its just a stinking animation)- not a new map or anything
-Featured Game Mode (its just putting an ad for an existing game mode in your face)- not a new map or anything
-Secondary Weapon (oh, you mean the one you unnecessarily removed, so you are correcting your mistake)

Like I said, the pushing of Live Fire was a microcosm of the self indulgence and the lengths they went to in order to try to cover for their shortcomings was embarassing and sad. With the TF1 team, I would have given them a standing ovation from start to finish. With the TF2 team, all I can think of is, "These are not the droids you are looking for."

With all of this self indulgence and disregard for those who loved TF1, it is no wonder that the identity and uniqueness created there has been lost.

    i know right. lol.

    Respawn was used BY EA.
the game was incomplete. and i believe that they needed a year at lease again.

the decisions that were made and the way the game was launched. and the bullshit after bullshit of content.
it took them a year to launch what exactly lol.

a net work system that is incomplete.
a matchmaking system that is backward more like still in the testing stage.
incomplete menu with a design like something is missing.
an incomplete faction based system , with no relevance to the game other than a pretty menu.
no side arms at launch and then after a year put it in the game. with no real reason to remove it. other than speculation from gamers .
a coop mode that was implemented a year after , which is the same as the first game but yet sold as a new DLC concept.
pilot models are the same for both teams , unlike the first they were different , and most modern games the opposite team looks different ,
a battery system implemented in game with out battery's on the map , like the campaign.
limited weapons. just a few re skinned and say it is new.
only 1 prime titan each after a year .
not prime titan for the last titan implemented. after a year.
camos which serve no purpose other that a pretty menu .
gen 11 was unlocked almost a year later.
nerf of weapons which worked fine .
attrition mode implemented after backlash , from a so called alpha / beta test. / demo.
a new mode that would have replaced attrition called bounty hunt which lobby is almost dead if not already.
they launched the game between two big AAA titles ,
    limited MAPS.
only re masted maps after a year.
limited sound in game sound compared to the first game.

This is an excellent point that many may have forgotten. They were not going to include Attrition and only did after much backlash.

Also, they wanted pilot movement to be much slower as well and only increased it after much backlash as well.

Another excellent point, because I really took offense to how they were trying to jam this mode down my throat when I wanted no part of it. When a new TF1 map would come out and they would have a 24/7 mode for the map, I only played the mode because I wanted to play Amped Hardpoint on the map and I would have been fine with dealing with the ones I didn't want if I got Amped Hardpoint every 3rd game, but NOOOOO!!! If I played 10 games, It ALWAYS went something like this:

    Bounty Hunt
    Bounty Hunt
    Bounty Hunt
    Attrition
    Bounty Hunt
    Bounty Hunt
    Bounty Hunt
    Attrition
    Bounty Hunt
Amped Hardpoint (maybe, not even necessarily after waiting through all that crap)

TOTAL BS!!! Take your crappy mode and shove it 10 miles up where the sun doesn't shine. Don't be jamming it in my face over and over and over when I want nothing to do with it.

    Kernel,
Come on now. Settle down. Do not make declarations like only a moron would buy TF3. I will of course buy it to explore, have fun, tear apart, wish, and yes may even be happy with it. Regardless, TF1 and TF2 have been the best gaming and most fun I have had in years (no comments on how sad a life I must have!). It is the people, people like you that make the game what it is. It is not just the mechanics but the ability of the game to enable people to come together to tea-bag, piss the enemy off, win in mind crushing crusades, and talk dirty. You know deep in your heart you will be buying TF3.
