My favourite weapon is the G2A4, but one small thing irks me, quite often the enemy is left on 1% hp. I don't have the numbers for its damage, but some combination of hits puts someone down to 1% and with a semi automatic weapon requiring another shot is a massive penalty. Perhaps increase the damage of each shot by .3 or 1 (not sure if weapons have decimal values).
This gun is garbage, can't see why you would use it. Or why this is the weapon you favor. But, I have been using it for gen 8. This has happened to me a decent amount of times. The gun should be a 2 shot kill, IMO.
Good god no. That would be massively OP and exploited by cheaters. I've never used it so I don't really have a balance idea but I'm sure a super small buff wouldn't be too bad.
Go to Symthic.com for weapon stats. The G2A4 does 99 max damage and pilots have 200 health. It's just a matter of balancing; if it were a 2 shot kill then what would be the point of using the Longbow if it shoots slower, has higher recoil, a lower magazine size, and leaves a bullet trail? It still maintains worth in that if the enemy pilot had been so much as been sneezed on, they will be a two shot kill.
Its very difficult to balance a weapon like this. They should probably buff the damage a bit, however put a cap on the fire-rate similar to the Wingman magnum. Overall though, this is not a horrible gun- just difficult to use. You get a lot of easy headshots with it. If you think the weapon is useless currently, you should probably get better with it to see its full capabilities before asking for it to be buffed up. Not a great weapon, but certainly not useless.
I've always used the semi auto weapons, dmr halo, fal cod etc. With active radar pulse it's a great weapon for killing someone very fast, as long as you know where they are. With this little change I think it would be in a good place. I actually haven't touched the carbine, can never bring myself to use a weapon everyone else does.
Do you think the occasional missed kill on 1% makes it balanced? Would it become too powerful if it actually finished them?
You may need to adapt your strategy for the weapon to better suit it's strengths. You need to be aiming for the head with this weapon. It gets a whopping +240% damage bonus for headshots. At close range that's a 1 shot kill. At far range it's 2 shots, 1 to the head, and just 1 more easy body shot. If you are leaving them at 1% you're either getting just 3 body shots at far range, or 2 body shots at close range- when you need 4 and 3 respectively. Headshots cut the amount of long range shots you need in half. And cut the amount of shots you need in close range by a full three quarters. Just 1 shot. It's basically like the B3 wingman, but without the massive kick-back between shots.
Kraber: 1 shot kill Longbow: 2 shot kill G2A4: 3 shot kill Seems balanced to me. Otherwise, why even have the Longbow?
Considering the points @Tony at Home, @RayFromJersey and others have made, yes. That, and it makes the Longbow very much outclassed.
