Yup. I played with the default setup for about a month and had too many of my buddies recommend the switch. I could never go back now always for too much freedom.
As said already I don't think it's unfair otherwise I'd be a hypocrite cause I've certainly done it myself, but those cards don't last forever, I also quite like the dynamic change, as the first 90 secs is spent building up your drop anyway but when someone drops a Titan in right at the start it totally changes how you have to approach your start game, the fact the dynamic can change at any time in TF is one of the reasons I love it.
Lol those videos are hilarious. If they dropped Titans on me I would just be happy to be featured in the vid haha
Nothing lame about it, that's what the cards are for. You can use the cards too. Some are better inside their Titan than as a pilot on foot, why wouldn't they drop a Titan right away if they can? Those cards are somewhat rare anyway. I think the auto aim pistol is lame but I deal with it because I know they're not that good and it makes them somewhat more competitive. This is the most balanced game I've seen as far as new players, unskilled, skilled, and veterans are concerned. It feels like everyone has a chance to contribute. Unlike most other fps when you're new you get stomped. Or if you're not skilled you just get slaughtered over and over until they've had so much they don't even want to play the game. Try to counter with your own cards, amped titan weapons, drop your own titans, radar boosts to see them always and pick them off from far away.
I actually started keeping a titan burn card in my deck at all times for this purpose exactly. Somebody tried dropping 3 on our party last night and we responded by dropping 6. Lesson learned
I would like to see an OP card. That makes everything OP. Oh and I want a smart pistol that locks on sooner and has more range. That is all .
calling a titan instantly is a brun card. You use burn card to save 40 sec of your titan too. I personally don't like any burn card. facing strong opponent, burn card doesn't help me to win. You also have to look at mini map to avoid enemy titan no matter when in the game.
I don't think burn cards are currently playing the role they were meant to. Theoretically, they should help balance out the game. A team that is losing will have more incentive to turn to their powerful burn cards, while a team that is winning will feel comfortable enough to only use their weaker burn cards: the adjustment made by each teams should keep the matches close and intense. Titan burn cards should be the ones you pull out when your team is really struggling and you need an early edge. But instead you get these cases of ganking- and even worse, the system has a built-in fault. Losing teams are less likely to use more powerful burn cards because since they expire after a single death, you are more likely to waste it when you are up against a better team. Winning teams are more likely to use powerful burn cards, because they know they are less likely to die quickly and will get more mileage out of their burn cards. So the intended effect is actually reversed The simple solution is to make burn cards (in cases where it is feasible) run on a timer as opposed to "until death". Also, I've ALWAYS been in favor of a hard limit to how many insta-Titan burn cards you can have at any given time. This was quite a forseeable problem and I'm not sure why it wasn't addressed already.
I wouldn't class the instant titan cards as a pro or con. Every one has the chance to use them after all. In terms of what cards I play, it's more my mood and challenges which dictate the cards I play rather than winning or losing. I tend to hoard the good cards. I don't want to part with them!
