In all my years of gaming (more than 15) I have never had to deal with anything as annoying as the smart pistol in a game. Not even the laughing dog on the nintendo shooting duck game... Here is what grinds my gears about it: 1.- Using a weapon in a FPS that aims itself is like using autopilot on a flight simulator and bragging about your timing score. I know some people say it`s balanced, but when someone scores over 100 attrition points in a game, more than 90% of the times he`s using a smart pistol. Doesn`t sound like balanced at all. 2.- A lot of people hate it too! Check your in-game chat logs and forums more often Respawn guys! Whenever I get angry about it and start complaining about it in the game chat, most of the time there is also people who hate it too. About 80% of the times I get something like "yeah, it sucks!" or "I can`t belive they included it in the game!" And the other 20% is usually the player defending it without any reasonable points in favor of the gun. With things like "I hate it too but someone in your team is using it too, so f*ck off!" or "if you don`t like it, go play call of duty", which I would but it doesn`t have parkour, mechs or isn`t nearly half as awesome as titanfall... 3.- It makes no sense at all! Jetpacks? Yes. Mechs? Sure! But bullets that curve in the air? I don`t think so... I know it`s supposed to be futuristic and everything, but I find it just stupid and non-coherent with everything else in the game. Futuristic means something that we don`t have yet but we might archieve in the future, and bending the laws of phisics is not in the to-do list of weapon developers... We will have mechs who can breede with each-other and have little mechs of their own and feed them milk from their mech breasts before we see something like a smart pistol. 4.- Basicly you have to do 3 things in a fps: Move, aim, shoot. I know that "outsourcing" one of them to the computer to do it for you is convinient, for some players, but for many of us who don`t, it puts us in a disadvantage. 5.- Apart from being an overpowered gun, it`s also a radar! It shows you when someone around you is cloked, even if you didn`t see him by eye. If there is a group of grunts/militia and a player, it shows you who the player is... 6.- Combine all that with the instant replay of death, and you got an angry maker combo. Now thanks to technology, you can see how you are mid-air and the other player is aiming at the floor and still killing you... If I got killed by the smart pistol without replay and without knowing what gun killed me might not be so bad, but with the instant replay its like a huge "Look! Here is exactly how they killed you and it`s complitely inconsistent with everything we have come to know and love about fps!" I know some people love it, but you have to know that the people who don`t love it, HATE IT! I love the game! No game in the last 5 years has cought my attention (and my time!) more than Titanfall, but this weapon is ruining the game and making me more and more want to stop playing it! I love the game so much that I`m going through the trouble of registering here and posting this, to tell the developers: I LOVE YOUR GAME BUT THIS STUPID GUN IS MAKING ME HATE IT! It`s so annoying that a couple of days ago I reached the point where I was in a match where almost everyone in the opposite team was using smart pistols and I decided to leave the game even counting it as a loss because it was an awful match!! I then tried to join again a match to see if I had better luck, and the scumbag system joined me mid-game in the same game I just left and costed me a loss becouse I couldn`t stand it!! If I was the game lead developer, I would delete the smart pistol ASAP and kick in the nuts the person who suggested it, but I don`t see it happening any day soon. But PLEASE!!! Do a "bunny-hop" game mode, make a game mode without smart pistol, or at least a map! ONE FRIGGING MAP! Give us SOMETHING! Even if it`s a little dark corner inside the game where we can be free of semi-bots who can`t do their own aiming but end up as mvp!

I recently used the smart pistol for the very first time for the gen. 9 requirements. It didn't take me long to get pilot kills but I certainly wouldn't rush to get it back in the war zones . I was anti before I used it and my opinion hasn't changed however I do like the fact it's different and your gameplay has to change . I dislike anyone that brags about attrition points if there using this.
1. Remove the lock-on vs cloaked pilots 2. increase lock time if the user isn`t able to keep the target in the crosshairs, the further away from crosshair your target is, the longer the lock. 3.Disable naming over characters and npc`s when using it problem solved.
You totally forgot the rule No.1 of this game "Do not fucking play Titanfall like Call of Duty". Seems that you are the kind of player that likes to run and pew pew, sorry mate but this game is not about that. Titanfall is about parkout and wallhang If you were a pro-player you should know that aiming while wallhang is not allow (obviously you aren't). Smart pistol is the only weapon that give you the edge while in combat because the stupid game doesn't allow you to aim while hang against the wall. Now! IF the game allow me to aim while I'm hang on the wall then I will agree about removing the smart pistol. The ONLY!!! reason I play TF is because: 1. parkout & 2. wallhang TL;DR: To remove the smart pistol IF aiming is allow while wallhang with ANY weapon. PD: (@Vagodeoz is a crying pus*y)
Personally, I absolutely hate Smart Pistol users because Amped Smart pistol's TTK is bullshit and the fact it's essentially an instant kill with a lock (regardless of whether you have Stim up, which used to be enough of a counter). I think if you had a "Spider Sense" ping when you got targeted by a smart pistol, that would be enough to balance it out enough. That said, the point you make about someone getting a 100 point score on Attrition with the Smart Pistol isn't really that fair because that's pretty much where the weapon's designed to excel. It would be better to point out its strengths in situations where other weapons should be strong, but aren't, main example is against the Shotgun and R97. Outside of kicking range, the smart pistol somehow outclasses the two theoretically CQB specialists, which makes capping points on CTF really hard when someone's just camping on the point with a smart pistol pointed at the door. Doesn't matter if you get 1 or even 2 shots off, their 3 will be faster.

I like the idea of the Smart Pistol; however, having it be auto lock on most of your screen is a bit too much. I would like to see it "nerfed" a bit so it will only lock-on if part of your reticule is on the target (as of now, once you lock on, as long as the target is visible anywhere on your screen, it continues to lock-on), if the target is not stealthed (as it is is a bit too much), and only one target at a time (or at least one pilot at a time). Maybe even add a feature to the game where you can shoot through some obstacles, but the Smart Pistol cannot, or can only shoot through very thin/weak surfaces.
Off the topic for a bit: Goldfish do not have that short of an attention span or memory. Another myth is that of the week-long lifespan of a house fly - more like a few months. Anyway.. On-topic: Calm down and stop being an asshole; they are recommending what they see as improvements to the game. You going completely off-topic and insulting their persons is too much - you could very well have stopped at you disagreeing with his post, or at least have not started talking about another countries problems or suggesting they do not "Get [their] fat blancmange bod[ies] out of bed and talk to real people (hey! Even GIRLS!)". This is criticism on a game, and a suggestion for possible improvement, not a battle ground (that would be IN the game). I do think the author of the original post was a bit, shall we say, "over-excited", but that does not give rights to anyone to attack that person. Offer your opinions on the matter, but please do not insult or attack the person, or make ill-informed (and ignorant) judgements about them.
Well, I have to admit that even if you sounded like an asshole, being humble enough to acknowledge when one fucked it up and apologizing for it is a fine and rare human virtue, even harder to find on online forums, so kudos and everything is left behind Back to the original topic: I agree with most ideas that were commented here to make the Smart Pistol more balanced: - No auto-locking on cloaked targets - The further you are from the target, the longer it takes to lock-on - The further the target is from the center 0f the reticule, the longer it takes to lock-on, and if the target leaves the reticule (even if its still on the screen) you have to start again with the auto locking. - Not being able to distinguish between grunts and players (no more than you can distinguish them with any other weapon) I think pretty much anyone (including most SP users) would agree those are fair changes. Also since its supposed to be a noob weapon, maybe you could leave it like it is for Gen1 pilots, but once you reach Gen2 it gets nerfed down or something like that.
Hats off fella, but I understand the emotion. I've not said anything on this thread as it's all been said before. 100 times on as many threads. As a player from day one through to now, and sitting at gen 10 level 50, I think the smart pistol is a great attrition grunt farmer, but the single weakest weapon against pilots (for me certainly). I appreciate that it makes it easier for 3 year olds to kill pilots, but anyone with one quarter amount of anything that can be called skill can kill a pilot faster with any other weapon in the game.
I agree, SP gamer dont stand a chance against pro player. I have also to say that aiming cloked guys takes longer than usual. I play sometimes with SP if i have card that enchances it and with it is so fu...g powerfull that it would blow your mind. I sometimes kill 2 players at one time xD
