Titanfall was brought by 2 million people. And yet only 2000 play it. Why is this? Have people moved on to new games?

I think so. Ive noticed for some of the DLC maps variety modes, only 9 people in my region were playing them. I think its just that the novelty wore off and people have moved on to other games (including me)

There were 3600 on defense last night, 3300 on attrition. God help anyone trying any other mode....

I Wish they made a game so replayable that millions of people would still play it. Or just make Titanfall FTP. And COD FTP. I have problems playing Ghosts. At times there were only 20,000 players out of the millions who bought it. FTP games like World of Tanks and Warframe would attract millions because you don't splash £40 on them. I Think the problem is with FPS is that they lack innovation. Specifically in Multiplayer. An Innovative FPS in my opinion would be one with a campaign set in Afghanistan with realistic authentic gameplay and perma-death. When you die, you have to start a new campaign from the Main Menu. And that it would have a hardcore no-save mode as well. I have been trying to advertise the game on youtube(which is a bad thing). But I think viral advertising only works if you make it interesting. COD Ghosts had a massive sales drop and Activision blamed it on the uncertainty on next-gen consoles. I Wish they made an FPS which allowed you to turn back time during online gameplay and pause online. Then it would just cause Cheating and Scrubs. Is the FPS in decline?

    Gamers are a fickle lot....
Always wanting to look up the skirt of the latest FPS.
I've two houses packed with them (gamers that is....) and it never ceases to amaze me how they will pine (and obsess, is not too strong a word) over the latest "whatever,-you-have-to-buy-this" game and in a matter of days (if not hours...) run its course, claiming some false victory (REALLY?) and me peering over my trifocals (sighhhhh....yes....) with a stare that could melt adamantium infused vibranium (old school comic freak) and think "there goes another $65 bucks" (I include tax...)....AND FOR WHAT!!! I see no value in that quite frankly. Hell, I JUST regen'd at 7 last night and I could'a done that two weeks ago (but I'm a stubborn purist...). My prediction, those who have wandered, will be back (if they are worthy), no doubt pretending to feign bored interest/curiosity in what's new. When in reality they yearn for the sound of gunfire closing in, the shudder of incoming doom, the finality of explosions and the smell of burning metal, and the thrill of the true hunt!!! (too dramatic?....sorry,....breathhhhh). Those who do not,......don't get it (my opinion) and more titans fer me (Aaaaarr!).
Are ya with me lads??? (into the abyss...)
Best to all of you (die hards),
    D. out.

Other games come out to spoil the fun too. I had this with Titanfall when Watchdogs and then Horizon 2 reared their heads.

The main 'Titanfall killer' for me will be Halo. For as much as I love Titanfall and it will always be installed just incase, I am a Halo child at heart, from CE through PC, 2, 3, ODST, Wars, Reach, and 4.

Too much of one thing can be bad, and I think this update is a few months too late for some people.

I hear ya brother. I started Halo (original) on the real XBOX way back when and I'm kinda weird when it comes to new stuff and I sat on the game for 'bout 4 months (don't ask, don't know whyyyy) and then one day on a lark I stuck it in and ....wow....(could not believe what I had been missing). It's one of my absolute favorites and followed with all the chapters. Read the books as well (don't ask me bout the toys, I plead the 5th).
Anywho, I am looking forward to the next iteration with great enthusiasm (and growing impatience...) on Xbox One it should really be something.
Really can't argue with the love of the ringed worlds. (oh, and by the way........I am John 117.)
    Later dude,
    D.

Two Houses? As in you have Two houses in your flat or neighbourhood that are full of gamers? If not, what do you mean?

I used to hate COD when I played Halo. But MW3 was the first game in the series I actually liked. And Ghosts actually had a pretty good(if linear) campaign. I had a nightmare about an improved ODIN that would detatch pods that would kinetically bombard cities and towns all over the world. They could release 20 pods that focus each on 20 countries. Still, I wish there was a game with infinite replay value. The only game close is probably Metal Gear because of it's confusing plot. Kingdom Hearts is the other game I think has a confusing plot, but this is mainly because of it's chronology. Not just what they discuss. I still like Halo, but the only problem I have with it is that it does not have a scope mode.

I think because this game has a horrible matchmaking system, or doesnt have a matchmaking system at all. I WANT to like this game, but i just cant because my team gets owned every time. There is no way i can do shit about it, i have around >40% winratio because my team just sucks and if i join a game it is already 200-30points and my team is leaving. The game ends the good team stays and the bad leaves and this happens every time, and you just cant make a difference. I have 1/3 MVP and 2/3 top 3, but just cant win or enjoy the game, because my team just gets stomped. This game could be awesome, but the fucked up matchmaking makes it unplayable.

I think thats why people left this game, because a lot of them are fighting against the matchmaking not the enemy. I wanted to buy the dlc-s but i see there are like 4-5 people are playing on the maps, it doesnt worth it at all. It is a shame they ruined the game by doing nothing about this problem. What do you think?

I found the numbers to be fine, in my region there was only ever around 100 player, but I only need 16 of them to play attrition or 4 to play defense. But, there have been a couple of big game come out and I'm assuming that people have lives as well.

Expectation of this game given it had the guys from IW in there was massive, MS wanted to sell Xbox's with this game, it was hyped big time. It was never going to live up to that. I tried getting a FFA game on Ghosts a month ago and got put into to a US lobby so Ghosts has been for me a far more difficult prospect in terms of getting a game.

Umm.. There's nothing much you can do about it, but play.

I showed up when Destiny dropped.

I'm still going to show up when cod aw drops.

I'm hoping there will be a hardcore enough bunch that will stick around for at least another 2 years. Doesn't have to be many, just enough.

    What about you? Your thoughts?

:cool:Odd that out of that entire rant you would pick that as a topic of discussion. But I will honor your query...
I am in a relationship with someone who has three children (I use that descriptor loosely...) who live in the same 'hood as I do. I'm bad, but not too the magnitude these three are when it comes to gaming. It is a constant ear-screw when in their company as to the game du jour and "did I hear about?' or "did youuuu know?". (which BTW is almost ALWAYS bad intel) Anyway I'm there a lot and am considered de-facto family.
(and yes to some readers, this addendum was considered.....an ear-screw. apologies.)

Sorry I am late to the meeting but I do want to add 2 or 3 cents in. I do agree with the Payle Horse that everyone sometimes seems to be a little bandwagonish
about games. If everyone is not talking about it then it must suck. We are also extremely spoiled when it comes to our games now, myself included. I remember going to the atari store with my Dad in the early 80's and buying Frogger and being excited about it. I can even go back to the Intelevision which some may not be old enough to remember. I remember getting excited playing Altered Beast at the mall and wondering how they could top such a great game.....HA HA HA. I even thought Destiny was going to be better than Titanfall and bought it. Two weeks later I'm back at Titanfall because the fast paced action can't be beat, right now anyways. By the way I sent some videos your way Paylehorse (hopefully not to many) because it was a good weekend and I was in a sharing mood. They are pretty funny

I saw you were out hunting last night and was caught in a being "pulled in two different directions" with me having an internal conversation with myself that went something like....."BUT, BUT, my friends are out playing, I wanna go kill stuff tooooo (add whiney inflection for emphasis)!!!" (stomping and storming off). Anyway I missed you, and when social convention (rituals?) were out of the way I hit the ground running but never caught up with you. I did see (think, pretty sure..) you were working FD at one time. that would be a kick, as I got creamed trying to keep up with "multi-tasking" last time I tried because others had an agenda or maybe more accurately....NO AGENDA AT ALL!!! (runn'n 'round like heads with their chik'ns cut off!!!)
Thanx for sending stuff my way, anytime man,.....I find myself frequently gleaning new idea and tactics from watching others show me how it's done. Don't give away too many secrets though, I remember that @#*%!!!
    One of these dayzzzz,

I like watching other peoples videos, it definitely shows peoples craftiness or something you haven't seen before. We will definitely have to play together at some point. Are you on eastern standard time or no? I do admit that on some frontier defense games I was less worried about the Harvester as I was about
my rodeo kills. There I said it, what a load off. Anyways got to handle some more business at work for the time being.

GASP!!!! Mannnnn,.....that's some serious baggage to carry around....I can hear it now.... "Sir we're getting smashed out here!!!" (sounds of gunfire and explosions and helplessness in the background" followed by....."Not to worry son "BOBA" is out doing perimeter duty taking the fight to the enemy" (just then an OGRE comes lumbering by with the sound of "*wheeee*" muffled by a helmet.) Followed by... "What's that blasted increasingly ominous humming noise?".....

I am CST (eastern Texas) and usually default to the Southwestern US servers, (not married to them) just ends up that way.
Anyway yur correct,...we will meet, always checking the leaderboards.
Best to you (and everyone else...)

A bit like my uncle then. He has one legitimate son. And three or four illegtimates. And a fiancee. He used to not get on that much but he seems to be a changed man. I hate this ''20,000 people are dedicated because millions are not'' thing. It really damages the industry. Dedicated fans who have to pay money for DLC and other content. I say, get rid of DLC and give all DLC to dedicated fans. Ghosts already has extinction mode free now. Indicating they are trying to give DLC away to dedicated fans. So why do millions buy the latest shooter, and then months later dump it? It's probably because, A: They want or have a new shooter, B: They think they are not dedicated enough, and C: They hate it. Titanfall is rarely even a game that has matches with headsets. This is why fans should wait for Game of the year editions. Because all the DLC will be there and you only have to fork out £40.
