I feel you bro (the server selection is on the title screen. Being in Oz, the default is the Australian Server, but you can change it by pressing X)....I have this problem ENDLESSLY.....ALWAYS 'Connection to server timed out' ....It drives me NUTS. I tried putting in a bug report etc etc etc etc etc etc etc ....even several pleading questions on the FB page...followed by several rants....they just IGNORE you. All I can suggest is suck it up and play on the US server (which I can connect to instantly EVERY TIME, with NO problems...evvvveeer)....not a satisfying fix for me as the US server has a ping of over 200 for me and the Oz server is only 40, so I am forced to play at a MASSIVE disadvantage (it's NOT my connection, it's about as fast and up to date as you can get in Oz). I have had it suggested to me to try turn of your router and switch it on again after 30 seconds, but that's a BS fix and doesn't work for me....maybe you'll have better luck. I have a suspicion that the staff at the Australian server are just idiots that don't give a sh*t about anything but their paycheck (which they OBVIOUSLY don't deserve). Maybe if enough of us complain in the bug section of the Forums they maybe just....MIGHT...listen....but prob not :/

I'm in New Zealand and haven't been able to connect to the Australian server for weeks. I see it, there's a ping, can enter the private lobby, but when I try to join Attrition the connection times out. In the two months before my connection issues started the match-making was borked, often leaving me waiting +20 minutes to join a game (having to remember to regularly twiddle the controller so it wouldn't log me out for 'lack of activity').
There was one time a week ago where I did manage to join a game at 3am. The game had frustrating pauses and jerky game-play before it put me out of my misery by disconnecting. I can connect to SE Asia and Japan, sometimes an American server, without any issues other than the lag. There is something wrong with the Australian server.

Titanfall was a Christmas present. I have been boycotting EA for over three years now and would have been resistant to buying an online-only game, dependent on a sufficient population of players (and reliable servers) to work. My opinion has only been reinforced by my experience with Titanfall.
This is not good enough. If games are going to be made as services instead of products then get your shit together and provide some damned service.

The problem isn't you or your connection. I tried all the troubleshooting blah blah provided by EA months ago, but found that if you can connect to a different server (non Australian) the problem is not your connection. Clearing cache on the 360 can help with odd connection issues sometimes, but isn't really a FIX.

EA doesn't seem interested in discussing the issue. I believe the Aussie server is there in name only. Ping time is great, but forget an actual match. Interestingly, the count of players in "Attrition" are typically the same on the Aussie server (that no one can connect to) as on the South East Asian server. Player counts are similar on the East Asian server, but I haven't noted if they are exactly the same (not sure). Japan appears to have it's own REAL server.

While there are typically a large number of games going on the US servers, the larger the ping, the worse the gameplay (lag). Expect the gameplay to run from good to almost unplayable depending on how intense the competition is. It is damned frustrating when you plow an opposing pilot with bullets and then die, only to watch your opponant in the replay shooting you down while you stand there like a zombie. In close titan fights, you are getting fresh squeezed, or having your arms pulled off and smacked with them, before you are even doomed. It can be quite aggravating.

That said, the choice is to play on a sucky laggy system (THIS IS YOU EA), or not at all. At this point I'm Gen 9, closing on 10, and still putting up with the suck connections. I love this game, but I have no idea if I will be able to put up with the suck, once that Gen 10 goal is reached.

I'm on the East Coast of Aus, 23ms on Xbone.

I never have a problem? Maybe kicked out 3-4 times a month at most, I did have an issue a while ago, Hard reset the Xbox and Router all works fine.

I honestly think they are trying to kill the 360 version of this game in Oz...they want us to all buy xbones (when there are a few good years in the 360 yet). Either way, the 360 server has seemingly been abandoned by EA in Australia (either that or the techs that run it are LAUGHABLY incompetent, which IS a possibility considering the IT culture in Oz...give your buddy a job, regardless of lack of actual ability). Either way...as soon as I hit Gn 10 in maybe a couple of weeks, I'm OUT (I'd have been gen 10 LONG ago if I didn't have to put up with the ridiculous lag that us Aussies are forced to put up with...being forced to play the US servers and all that)...not a happy customer.....but EA doesn't seem to give a shit about what it's 'customers' think, as they use the Nag Factor to peddle their wares and most of their stock is bought by unknowing parent for their clueless kids.

May be a separate issue for the Xbox 360 and Xbox One? Would be interesting to know if it is happening to PC users. May be something strange with the ISPs?

It makes little sense that Australia appears to be the only server that consistently will not match. EVERY ATTEMPT sends (360 users?) users to "'Connection to server timed out" when attempting to connect to the private lobby for a match.

About 6 months ago, I think.? This was an issue for me always trying connect to server etc and getting kicked out. Mr Telstra came out and fixed my line, and haven't had a problem since. Trying clearing your cache, this is the same as hard resetting the Xbone.
PC do have problems too, there's a massive thread on it over on the Respawn forums.

Thanks for your help. Months ago the problem came and then went for a while. The connection was near perfect for several months. This current connection issue has been ongoing for probably the entire month of February. Clearing the cache in the 360 requires a bit of searching, but is done through the "storage" settings. Been there and done that. I've literally tried every port setting and troubleshooting suggestion Microsoft and EA have to offer on the subject. I just don't bother anymore. I just go to one of the other servers and put up with the lag issues. The Australian server consistently shows under 40 ms access times, but no luck with a match through it.

All I can suggest now is move your modem into the DMZ, this helped me on the 360 in the COD4 days, I forget how but google can help.
Also maybe voicing your concerns on the Respawn forums may help?

    Good luck mate.

I was able to make it into the private lobby and attrition matchmaking was working last night. Gone again today, but I guess it isn't time to give up hope and jump ship, yet.
