having worked hard all my life and being more established, relative to most 20 and 30 year olds, and being in a situation where time is often more valuable than money I would buy and not build a computer. I will not likely switch to a computer but if I did I would go out and buy a really kick ass powerful rig with a few bells and whistles to make it really enjoyable. I love the fluidly and speed that seems to be available on the computers. However there is nothing like sitting back in the big lazy boy and chillin with a coke or beer and just relax while my butt gets kicked. Sitting on a chair at attention win a mouse in one hand and key board in the other madly clicking away seems like it would get tedious. Is that what itis like?

I couldn't blame you for doing what you do in your situation. It doesn't matter if you're a Goldman Sachs employee or someone who's living on state benefits. Time IS more valuable than money, and it's your personal choice whether you pick up a skill early on in life, to get the most out of it, or if you just hire any dude who claims to have the skill you don't every time you need him to solve a problem you can't.

But if you are on a salary, and you have +$400 spending money (this is after your bills and money for your dependents goes out) a month, it isn't really that much to invest it into a games console, or a really cool PC with all the bells and whistles. You don't have to learn to build a computer, but then, if you do buy a PC, and something goes wrong, how many days of your life do you end up losing to a competent, or even worse, an incompetent tech support team? Better if you call up saying "I've done all this, can you start an RMA process please?".

If using a keyboard and a mouse to play games was tedious, then it would quickly get out of fashion. There's plenty of PC gamers who will tell you that using a keyboard and mouse is better than using a controller (though did you know that you can use the Xbox 360/One controllers on the PC?), but really, it's what you're used to. Of course a new setup is going to feel uncomfortable when you're skinny dipping, but that's like anything else, you have to put the time in to get used to it.

It is far cheaper to get a good sofachair/lazyboy than to invest in a long-lasting, stable, comfortable computer chair though, I will give you that.
