Checkout what Frothy Omen has to say about the game, remember this he has been a big supporter of the game and an Elite Pilot...

While I do understand what he is saying it's a rather disappointing development. Maybe because I'm older and grew up during the age of Nintendo...I play games because they are fun. Pretty simple.

I never understood the point of prestege in COD. Let me get this straight, I gotta start all the way over just so I can get a number next to my name and a colored gun no one will ever pay attention to?! No thank you.

Regarding Titanfall, I've been sitting on a Regeneration for two months and two months from now it will still be there. I've never understood this love of a grind that seems to be so popular in games. I got real life tedious stuff I can be doing if I just want to have a task list. I used to think the same thing with the old find the key to open the door cliche in adventure games (nevermind I just killed some giant mutant, it's the invincible wooden door that's my true opponent). When I lose my house keys it f'ing sucks, I don't get excited that it just added some content to my life. I used to spend weekends in the arcade playing same games over and over and over AND I paid real money for that privilege with nothing to show for it.

So no, I don't get the need for a carrot or a pat on the back everytime you do something in the game, fun was it's own reward.

    But like I said..

    Maybe because I'm old.

Now get off my lawn you whipper snappers!!!

Hey Villan, I respect your point of view. Just for the record I am a senior as well and if your age is correct in your profile almost twice your age. For me it is the challenge of leveling up, don't care about the camo or the number just the satisfaction of doing it. Unfortunately in the current version of TF there is little satisfaction since it is based on time there is no real challenge to move up - I love a challenge!

I absolutely agree playing is about fun and if I am not having fun there is plenty of other things that I can do!

Just the perspective from an old fart!

Now where did I put that damned walker?

70 years old and still gaming. Impressive...I hope to be capable of the same if I last as long.

What's even more impressive is that you continued to game after picking it up kinda late in life. I'm guessing in your late 20s to 30s. It's usually something you do early or not at all.

Yea, different strokes I guess. I'm not much of a completionist. I have a rather abismal gamer score considering how much I play.i just hate the grind I guess . I get enough of that in my nine to five

Yeah, this is what really truly surprises me. Respawn is even losing some of their most ardent, faithful and strongest supporters and they just plain don't seem to care. There is no rush to address concerns. There is no sense of urgency.

Excellent point Villain! This is why I stopped myself from getting too far into World of Warcraft. I remember standing their fishing for 10 minutes to get food to feed my pet and I was thinking, "How F'ing stupid is this? If I'm going to spend 10 minutes fishing, why don't I drive down the road and actually fish?"

And, WOW! This is the absolute best point I've seen anyone make in a long, long time, because I can totally relate to this. There was a time before I had any game consoles that I used to drop $20 minimum/day (not just weekends, but EVERY DAY) in quarters into arcade games. I think this really deserves a good discussion. Why did we do that? What was it that not only kept us coming back, but made us willing to spend more money every day to do it? I mean, it wasn't as easy either. You couldn't just sit down comfortably at your computer. You had to drive or walk to wherever there was an arcade. Sometimes you had to put your quarter on the machine and wait your turn. But we still did it, day after day, over and over again, and we were glad to do it. We wanted to do it. Why was that? What was the secret? Whatever it is, is what Respawn, and frankly some other game manufacturers are missing. Well, I think you guys hit on the 2 most important ingredients:

I would add the ability to express yourself in ways you cannot do in other areas of your life.

For me, TF1 and TF2 are both fun.

TF1 challenged me, because I had to actually complete challenges, some of which were very difficult and time consuming in order to earn the right to Regnerate. Also, TF1 challenged me because there is a Rank System where I can see where I stand in relation to other players. TF2 has no regen challenges and no rank system and they've even removed deaths from the stats. In TF1, the deaths stat is still very important to me, perhaps even most important to me, because I know my scores are going to smoke everyone on my team and the other team, but can I do it all and still have a 0 in the deaths column? In TF2, everyone just gets an easy trophy for everything and there is ZERO accountability. You can die 50 times and no one would know.

As great as the fun and challenge of TF1 are, it is they way it allows me to express myself as a pilot or titan that keeps me coming back long after I am a Generation 10/Level 50 and Diamond V with 5 battlemarks. TF1 allows me to express myself in ways I have never experienced in any other game. TF2 does not make me feel that way. I'm hampered by slower, weaker titans with no regenerating shields and by not being able to completely customize my loadout. Oh, I can have a pink gun (who the hell cares), but I can't pick what gun I want (the most important stuff). Also, the situational awareness when you are a pilot is not anywhere close to where it was in TF1, which prevents me from expressing myself the way I want as a pilot. Also, the pilot against titan dimension has changed, where titans are given way too much benefit of the doubt, which again, prevents me from expressing myself as much as I would like to as a pilot.
