    Hello friends,

Today we are revealing our 6th DLC drop for Titanfall 2 called The War Games and it will be available for free for all platforms on June 27th! We’ll have the trailer for you at launch.

For now, let’s breakdown what you’re getting:

    • Map: War Games – Pilots on the Frontier frequently use simulator pods to train, using life-like recreations of historical battles as combat scenarios. War Games highlights the civilian shops, tall buildings for window-to-window fighting, and city streets for Titan combat from the Battle of Angel City, and the large, open tank garage facilities for hand-to-hand Pilot combat from the Battle of Airbase Sierra. The outskirts of the map feature a clean, VR style perfect for Titan duels, while Pilots are often found running along the bright, interconnected wallrunning routes.

    • Live Fire Map: Traffic –A weathered test site where pilot positioning is pitted against mobility across two busy thoroughfares. Dense cover makes every corner a threat, with room for snipers to hide in the back fields.

    • New Execution: Shadow Boxing [Holo Pilot]
      • Get 20 pilot kills while a holopilot ability is active (Both normal holopilot and boost ability holopilot nova count.) Does not retroactively count.
    • 3rd Weapon Slot for Pilots – You will now be able to equip a primary, secondary, and anti-titan weapon.
    • Titan Brawl will be added to the permanent list of game modes. Titan damage will be displayed instead of assists.
    • New Featured Mode: Free Agents
    • Additional details for balance changes, features, and updates will be provided in the patch notes closer to launch.

RESPAWN AT E3 AND EA PLAY

We are fortunate that E3 is a local event for us and it’s a great time to catch up with friends, check out all the great new games, meet and chat with our players, and celebrate what we’ve accomplished with Titanfall 2.

We kicked off the week with EA Play where we had a booth where folks could come play some Titanfall 2 and come hang out and chat with Respawn devs. We had a lot to celebrate and talk about! During the weekend we shared that:

    • We're extremely proud of Titanfall 2, and with close to 20 million people having experienced the Titanfall franchise, through either the original Titanfall or with Titanfall 2, we're committed to the franchise and excited by the opportunities ahead of us.
    • Since launch we’ve released 5 content drops, free for all players, and continue to see a vibrant, engaged playerbase with currently over a million active players a month.
    • Titanfall 2 will support Xbox One X. This means 4K resolution for increased fidelity as well as support for dynamic super scaling.
    • We’re not done with DLC yet! Our next update in July will be huge and will include the long-awaited return of a favorite mode from the original Titanfall…

At E3 proper, many folks from the team took a day or two to check out the show floor. There were so many great games and hardware being shown this year! It is a very exciting time for games. Thank you to everyone that came by or stopped us to say hello, share your stories, or give us feedback.

War Games is a superbly designed map. Great to make Titan Brawl permanent and nice to put back 3rd weapon slot that never should have been removed.

I'm guessing Derrame will finally get Frontier Defense.

Looking forward to new maps and the third weapon slot, for sure. Wonder what the specifics are on the new featured mode "Free Agents"? Will I ever be able to leave multiplayer long enough to try the campaign? I swear, I'd have to request a one-week ban from Respawn just so I can play the campaign. o_O

People have been saying that the mode "Free Agents" is one that doesn't allow parties, I know @ensc will like that. That's all speculation though.

You know me too well my friend. :) You are absolutely right. That would absolutely entice me to play more. It would actually be a good and more fair mode for newer players as well. I hope you are right. Thanks!

Derrame, I saw in your one other post that you also mentioned that you didn't like the War Games map. I just wanted to make a general comment about maps. I think maps can grow on you. I think I felt the same as you at one point about War Games and now it is at or near the top of my list, because the more you play it the more you notice all of the unbelievably beautiful engineering that went into this map to fully utilize the wallrunning aspect of titanfall. Not for the same reason, but Backwater is another map I hated at first, but now it is one of the ones I am most happy about when I see it come up.

The amazing thing to me about the TF1 maps are that they were so beautifully designed with such painstaking attention to detail over every little nuance, that even 3 years and 3 months later, I am still discovering things and saying to myself, "Wow! I never noticed that before and that is a beautiful wall running route." Or, "Wow! I never noticed that before and that is a perfect hiding spot or sniping spot." One of the greatest revelations I had only recently was on the Sand Trap map. I always knew there were some lower level areas, but I never realized how extensive the underground areas are and how advantageous it is to quickly get from one side of the map to the other, or just from one side of a building to the other, without having to expose yourself to danger. I think on War Games, you will find it is the opposite, there is a whole world up above to be discovered that was beautifully designed. You may actually end up liking it.

yes, i understand, that happened to me with some tf2 maps, but i'm not talking about wallrunning, wargames and glitch are great for that, i'm talking about the details, environment,

    i mean, it's a simulation, it's a good map for tf1 but not for tf2,
i like "real battlefield" maps, like relic, colony, angel city, exoplanet, drydock, etc, not simulations this is not tron or matrix,

i'm really good in glitch, but i don't like how it looks, all the same color, it's like a stuck simulation, why is that in the game!?

the same forms, wallrunning, spaces, can have another colors and details, plants, grey or green o brown walls, destroyed vehicles in the background a destroyed city, flack cannons, destroyed titans, smoke, fire, explosion,s fuel tanks, etc, etc,
what i like is the details, the textures, the visuals that gives the feeling of a war,
a map must involve the player, it must be immersive

crashsite is bad for titans, but it's one of the most immersive maps in tf2, it has some destroyed titans, destroyed facilities, a shipwreck, lots of bullet shells, dead wild life, i mean something happend here, something big,

exoplanet is also very immersive, the strange plants, the colors, the background, the strange parasite plants,

where is the war between IMC and Militia in glitch!? or in wargames?

half of the map wargames is white with black stripes, what battlefield looks like that!?

traffic looks good, but it's for live fire only

Ahh, I see. If that is what you are talking about, then yes, I see your point and I absolutely agree with you.
