I miss talking to you people here and the Titanfall Community in general. Here is why I've been absent lately though, he has been consuming a lot of my time. His name is Dug.
We got him from a local save-a-stray program that saves dogs from the high kill shelters down south. He is from Alabama. He definitely has lab in him but they don't know what else he is mixed with being a stray and what not. The coloring of the tail reminds me of german shepherds but it also curls so I'm not sure. I've heard you can get genetic testing done to determine this, might use this option... not quite sure yet. @Getmused Dogs are definitely family members. I'm almost 29 years old and I've never lived without a dog in my house. Our Bernese Mountain dog recently passed away at 10yrs old and the house just didn't feel right without a dog.
@Ik0n88x good for you adopting. There are some great dogs that never get the opportunity to be with great owners. I too have always had dogs, mostly 2 at a time. (Big yard for em). I'm sorry to hear about your Bernese. Losing a dog can be really tough. Some people don't realize how important animals are to a family. Good luck with your new member. Dug looks to definitely have some lab. I even wondered if it were a labradoodle?
I don't think that, you can tell he is going to be a really big dog. A lot of people (even the vet we took him to) said it looks like that he is possibly mixed with an Akita. I've looked up pictures and I could definitely see that.
@Ik0n88x yeah the tail resembles the Akita and I did not mean to say labradoodle. lol Not even close. I meant to ask or say husky
Dog lover here. Way to go. I have two Jacks and a new Golden Doodle. Her name is Poppy. It should be spelled Pawpee because she is all paws and pees no. Stop.
The coonhound in him gets him into a lot of trouble because when he smells something, he will not back off of it. He listens VERY well and obeys commands, but when he smells something, I can see him fighting his instincts ya know.
Just curious, are you a hunter Ik0n? Do you plan to take him hunting? I'm not. I'm a horrible shot, but the rest of my family is and it is what my father enjoyed more than anything. I know my Uncle that my Dad used to hunt with had some really good hunting dogs.
