I mean anytime I run into Gen 10+ pilots, they all run Stim or Phase shift, and they will spam the hell out of it, like every engagement they activate Stim to strafe like hell, or Phase shift EVERY time they are gonna lose a gun fight, I swear every time I have a Phase shift pilot down to under 10% health, they just hit their panic button aka Phase shift, run behind me or something while I'm reloading, looking for where they'll pop out, so I can finish them off, but they always Phase shift somewhere random, and insta kill me. I get that Phase shift is used to get out of sticky situations, but seriously, every engagement, whensomeone is about to die, they Phase shift just to survive, every engagement, and it's annoying, and honestly makes it look like you can't win your 1s, and for the players that activate Stim for every engagement, it looks like they need the strafe speed to even win gunfights

Mmmyup, those are damn fine ways not to die.
It's what makes Titanfall stand out from most other game's.
There's a huge skill gap between the top tier players and lower skilled pilots, alot of it is movement based. The lower skilled pilots need to find way's to bridge the gap.

Yeah, I absolutely agree with you.

Stim - I loved Stim in TF1 and never used anything else. At first, I loved how they made it even stronger in TF2, but I've come to think it's too strong and it actually adds to the cartooniness of TF2.

Phase Shift - This never should have left the "Effect and Cause" mission of the Single Player campaign. It also adds to the cartooniness of the game. But the big problem is what you suggested, which to me is like the polar opposite of one thing I despised in TF1, which was the Arc Mines. I'm sorry, but you should not be able to kill me when you are not there to do it yourself. The Phase Shift is like the polar opposite defensive equivalent of the Arc Mines. In other words, you should not be allowed to not be there right as I am about to kill you.

Respectfully disagree with the pleas for dumbing things down. You have several unique tools in the game that make the game what it is. As powerful as some features are, they all have their limitations. The challange of learning to use and also overcome these perks is what makes the game what it is. So
please, I think the endless needing has to quit.

As you could probably tell from the context in my last post...it was a plea for endless NERFING to quit and not endless needing. Although I suppose some still seem to have endless needing too.

I love stim I'm stim all the way. Why not, if I've got to be a robot I'd expect some extra speed. It's deadly in CTF and it's IMO the most powerful ability for many of the modes. Being futuristic I'd expect nothing less of combatants and a core ability at the flick of a switch.

Personally I think that one could apply the dislike of something, any ability, or weapon in Titanfall or Titanfall 2 depending on who you are as the pilot, and what you like. For example I can't stand pilot sentries anymore (and it was this forum that scared me off them! didn't want to get caught using them again ages ago!), and deep down think they are nothing more than an easy kill count for the pilot that drops it, who wants to chop up enemy but doesn't feel they can do so themself kind of like the SP in TF1 (which I thought was rad anyway although many hated it).......But then I use ticks, and can be happily on the other side of the map already and suddenly get 2 kills and I didn't even see it happen, I love em - but many hate them, and I see and respect why, as with the Pilot Sentry - consequently, Pilot sentries keep you on your toes, absolutely, bluddy things. I love the Spitfire too, but how is it fair I can expend so many rounds in Bounty taking all the points on the drops, while everyone else has to reload?..so hey man theres so many for and against for so much.

But it is what it is, and worrying ourselves over what we don't like in the game, because it killed us 8 times in a match, isn't part of the fun that it's supposed to be. There is a lot of things I don't like, but meh I just fight on. Especially bluddy holo pilots suckering me out into the open.....lol. (I do use Holo with the softball)

Sometimes it's good to counter strike man!, speaking of softball, if you are up against A-Walls, flank em, lob em in. Phase shift - STIM! outta there hit a wall and bounce, you'll more than likely see them again before they see you, Stim? mate just lead em up, or arm yourself with the spitfire or something like that, empty a mag you'll get them.

As for one on one bounce offs? end of the day that comes down to player skill. That's not the game, not abilities, not weapons. We are all really good players, and have streaks, then you have off times. Some days I am so off the mark I go straight to BF1 as not to throw the controller, (not that BF1 helps with gamer anger, f'ing snipers!!!!) next day, 1st place streaks over several matches. Happy.

I ain't a firestarter too OP, I've been lucky enough to stick with TF2 from day 1, was unlucky enough to only cotton onto TF1 several months after the fact, still gen 10'd it though. In TF2 however from a Joe Bloggs everyday brawler, I can tell you that there is much more fun to be had in getting stuck into some of these things and learning more skills using them than not. If you see a stimmer or a phase shifter adjust your game plan. You could line up all the abilities and rip them all apart, but they all have their uses.

Use them all, give them all a go. Stim against stim is bluddy good fun in a bounce off. Crazy.

Phase shift against phase shift?, bluddy confusing!!! but hard case.

Don't hate on things too much. It isn't going to change. And TF would be majorly stink if it didn't have stim. Phase shift, I personally though it was a good additive, new is good. TF1 didn't have it. I use it only with the Hemlok it's great for medium range engagement and moving, and hard targeting across the map.

Good luck with those one on ones. Load up with the Mastiff and some arc grenades, you'll make a stimmers day suck trust me. Happens to me all the time.

    Peace.

I agree with you to a certain extent. I thought Stim was perfect in TF1 and it was all I ever used. If they had done what I wanted them to do for TF2, which was make bigger maps and faster stronger titans, then I think it would have been justified to have the Stim jacked up to get across the LARGER maps faster. However, they went the other direction and made the maps SMALLER but jacked the Stim up faster than it was in TF1. That doesn't make any sense.

I use ticks, but only because I hated getting killed by them. However, I would be happy if they removed them, because I don't think you should be able to kill anyone with anything if you are not there to do it yourself. Arc mines in TF1, Pilot Sentries and Ticks in TF2. And Phase Shift is the defensive polar opposite. You shouldn't be able to not be there when someone has you dead to rights.
