    8pm NZ time today.

Oh dear, it's dwindling. Looks like the sneaky matches during the day on the US servers is going to increase for me.

    Nothing we can do.

I can't believe this game never really took off and became more popular. I think we would have saw so much more content over the course of the updates if the player base was higher. With that said why can't they just release an update for the players who are still playing the game ? I want to see a paid update with some really good content , I would pay for it. I mean why not ? At this point what would they have to lose ? I think people would spend money on it

Now that support has pretty much come to an end for TF2 and it is more about the overall franchise in general going forward, I would like to see them offer a free copy of TF1 to anyone who purchases TF2 (and all who have already purchased it should get it retroactively). I know it cannot be played on a PS4, but most people do have a PC as well and with TF1 being almost 4 years old now, even the most bare bones newer computers can probably handle it.

This way it would serve multiple purposes all in one shot:
    1) Could spur some more sales of TF2 that would not have otherwise happened, so more money and more user base there.
    2) Could pump a little life back into TF1 and give that user base a well needed boost.
    3) Could bring more exposure to the overall franchise in general and give those who have only played TF2 so far a better overall picture of the entire Titanfall universe in order to provide better informed input and feedback on what should be done going forward.

As far as spending money on things.
TF2 - I would not spend a dime on anything else.
TF1 - If they put out a an expansion pack DLC with 15 new, large, well designed and engineered TF1-style maps, I would pay up to $1000 for that.

Well they should do something , both games are to good to give up on. I would def spend more money on tf2 , I spent over 400 hours playing it , it's been a phenomenal game for me. No reason they shouldn't continue supporting it. But they should do something.

Yeah, they should. I'm not kidding about being willing to pay $1000 for 15 new TF1 maps. I have no problem justifying that, because prior to TF1, new video games would last me about 2 months each at $60 a pop. No other game (including TF2) has been able to pull me away from TF1 in 3 years and going on 8 months, so that is about 22 games I didn't have to buy or (22 * $60) = $1320 I didn't have to spend and I am approaching 5000 hours in TF1.

    Maps.....Maps...

We need atleast Twice as Many Maps....regular maps...not the silly little Live Fire maps either....

This is where Respawn fucked up the biggest...

I've been dealing with all the other shortcomings.....AND IT HAS MANY SHORTCOMINGS!!

I used to play for hours and hours and hours........but when u keep playing in the same maps over and over u get bored.

For example. Since the update I have yet to play on "Rise". It's been taken out of the rotation...

I played yesterday and today for many hours......we only rotated through 5 maps. Same maps over and over and over and over.

Only a Moron would continue to buy anything in this game......nobody can see anything but RED glowing pilots and Titans. The only time you can see the weapons skins and pilot camos is in the lobby..........only you can see them.

First, you are right that the "silly little Live Fire" maps don't count as maps when you can't play any modes with titans on them in a game called Titanfall.

Second, you are right that a big part of the problem is the small number of maps. Let's not forget that TF1 had pretty much this many maps at launch. It had 15 LARGE maps at launch and EVERYONE had 9 more LARGE maps for free after the first year for a total of 24 LARGE maps and you would NEVER get stuck playing the same map twice in a row. Also, you could play ALL 24 maps in Frontier Defense and pick whichever one you wanted to play. Conversely, TF2 launched with 9 small maps and 1 year later you have 10 small maps and 6 TF1 retreads for a total of 16 maps. You can only play a handful of those in Frontier Defense. And, as a result of the horrendous Networks idea, you get sucked back into the general population pool after every single game and it pays absolutely ZERO regard to where you just came from. It does not care who you were playing with or against and does not try to keep you with them, so you lose the continuity in players and chat (no atta boys, talking smack, revenge matches or building friendships). It does not care or take a look at what map you just came from, so it does nothing to try to prevent you from having to play the same map repetitively. When you've already got a small number of maps available and then you make that feel even smaller by allowing someone to have to repeat the same map multiple times it is almost like you are intentionally trying to bore the hell out of people and drive them away.

I just would like them to do something, anything . They don't have to do free updates anymore but do something, especially if there isn't going to be a Tf3 anytime soon or ever.

Yeah, I agree. With TF1, support ended after about 10 months, but at least you were in a pretty decent place. You had 24 large maps and could play FD on any of those (choosing the one you wanted). Other than no matchmaking algorithm or anticheat system, it was a pretty solid game with a pretty healthy user base. Also, the other thing it had was that even when the Hardpoint Domination lobby died shortly after that, you still had the Multiplayer Campaign where you could always get a game any time of day and that contained 4 out of 9 games that were Hardpoint Domination. With TF2, it grew stale pretty quickly, because for titan modes there are only 10 actual new map creations and those are all smaller (and 1 is even just a mish mash of the Training Gauntlet). For anyone who played TF1 a lot, the other 6 TF1 retread maps were already over 3 years old. Plus, you could only play a few maps in FD and even then get stuck repeating the same 1 map 3 times in a row. Then on top of the thin content, it sounds like the last update actually broke some things. Not good. If you were trying to come up with ways to drive people away, I don't think you could have come up with a better plan. Especially if you factor in the only thing that was always your one single major problem, which was the lag that they never addressed.

Neither Titanfall 1 nor Titanfall 2 took off and became more popular. Titanfall 2 had about the same lifespan as Titanfall 1. It has a niche fanbase that won't grow that much no matter what they do in my personal opinion. People don't like mechs.

I agree, I love the Titans in both Titanfall 1 and Titanfall 2.. but they just don't work in MP.. especially in North America.

I just don't think there's a simple answer here. It's one of the
Most fun games I ever played. I didn't think I would like the titans but I gave it a chance and then saw how awesome they are. People are to committed to call of duty and probably battlefield to give titanfall a chance. I think that's more of the problem then anything

I think the game appears to crazy and to hard for more people to give it a chance. I don't think it's a lack of modes or lack of maps that are really the problem , atleast at the surface. I think people don't give the game a chance because they feel it's to hard. It's a simple explanation but I think it has a lot to do with it , as well as the blind sheep committed to call of duty

Ik0n has always been consistent about this and he may be right. Not to argue with his point, but I just feel it is because they haven't been done right yet. They need to be even faster and stronger than TF1 titans on bigger maps and with the ability for them to wallrun. I think if you created something that would provide epic video of high speed mid-air titan clashes, trailers and gameplay of that would attract people that never would have thought they would like mechs. TF2 moved in the opposite (and wrong direction in my opinion), because slower weaker and clunkier is even less attractive for new players.

I could see that being an issue with TF1, but not TF2. They did a lot in TF2 to cater to more casual players, which is part of the reason the competitive players (like the ones who made the "Project Nessie" video) don't enjoy it as much as they did TF1.

I'm just suspecting that because I had a friend of mine buy the game and he convinced some of his friends to buy it as well. My friend ended up really liking the game and thinking it was great but in the beginning he complained a lot about how hard it was. His friends played it maybe 3 times max and quit because they sucked . I do think a big part of the problem is the game seems intimidating to a casual mind. The Titans seem very complicated to casual people. You have to understand society today , if you have to think or put effort into learning then that product most likely won't be successful. People don't want to think or want to learn , this is the state of casual minds in our society today. I just know that the people who I know personally who played this game almost all sucked at it and basically refused to take the time to learn it and get better. They wanted to pick it up and play it like call of duty. And you can for the most part but as soon as you get into the titans the game changes. Ensc all your points are accurate and indeed the core fanbase did have a problem with the changes and the lack of content, but I just think overall the game appears to hard for the newcomers and they really don't give it a chance. It's honestly the only real answer I can come up with . The awful netcode didn't help the game either , and for whatever reason none of that was ever addressed in the lifespan of this game , my game still lags every single time I play just like it did on day 1 . Of course unplugging the router seems to solve that problem though for whatever reason.

Yes, personally, I have a huge problem with the whole casual or "participation trophy" mentality today and I have an even bigger problem with taking a game that was great and trying to cater to it, only to have it still not be dumbed down enough. Now, you have a game where you stripped a lot of its uniqueness and lost a lot of serious, competitive players, but you're also not simple enough to attract those who have no interest in investing more than 5 minutes to learn how to do something. This has to be a lesson learned. You CANNOT dumb the game down even more and end up with Titanfall: Angy Birds edition. You have to admit it was a huge mistake, write it off as an experiment, go back to TF1 and use it (with all its uniqueness and superior mechanics) and try to recapture that magic. Trust me. I had never ever played a Multiplayer FPS before TF1 and I can remember walking onto the Colony map the first time and not being able to take 2 steps without getting killed from the rooftops, but there was just something about it that spoke to me and told me that if I invested the time it would be worth it, so I did and it was. If TF2 had been my first Multiplayer FPS, I would have moved on after the first day. There's no there there. There's nothing to achieve, because it is designed for casuals. That's why all the really good competetive players from TF1 said, "See ya!!!"
