i could understand how you may feel. i understand how may take the game as there are many views on the topic of the game. some are fine with how the game is and if they did not experience anything better then find . noting is wrong with the game for what it is, but the BS IMO of the content and how the game could have been gripes me the wrong way. and i have been flowing the game just as much as everyone here and other venues. and i don't want part 3 or any game that is or may be similar to make the same mistakes . granted it is an opinion , and not all times myself included will come off fair and sound frustrated or even negative, but i am also positive .

but what do we see plenty off and common comments from people that show or have a comment on the game which can or will be conceive as negative.
players should get gud , if you don't like it don't play it , so on and so on. and that by it's self can push players away from contributing towards a better game.

in the video granted it is not how all may feel about the game , but don't bullshit about what was said in the video or push it aside as something that is not valid as it shows a great point to what could have been and i am not the only person or gamer that felt that way.
and i say this because i have read and seen many comments from gamers from all over saying the same thing just in different ways but pretty much saying what even a lot of us have discussed in the past and present.
to change how things are now is obvious not going to happen , but as for me to let and allow BS like this to happen and not say anything that's a no no.

i buy the game to enjoy the game for what it is. for entertainment, an escape to relax to have fun . granted i get entertainment from other things so if i see something i have invested my hard earn money on and have the hopes to keep having it , i will always voice my view.
this is why even if repeated i keep supporting to voice you view as it does noting to stay quiet . but i have seen many drowned out by fanboys propaganda even from some that silence them .

yep. we had more of hey we have new news coming that actual content that means anything to game play .while having camos in the game is all good, i mean really think about it , we bought a game to put colors on or game models. i mean really it that the reason gamers get excited for nowadays .
to see an empty slot on the layout in the menu for a titan or titans , pilots. gives the feeling of something missing or incomplete.
to see concepts and great ideas from fans. one would thing even the DEV's may have thought about it , who knows.

and as far as it goes with IKON my comments are not directed to him but as a general from what i have seen read from many venues not just here from other gamers , and note i did not mention any names.
it is what it is negative or positive or in the middle . does not change the fact how the game is and how different many fell about the game and the outcome.
as for the future hopefully things are changed for future titles.

Trini my boy, you certainly don't have to explain yourself to me. You were always the voice of reason when I was very upset and you kept me on the straight and narrow. You were always very positive. I sense you are a little more frustrated now than you have ever been, but I know you are still a positive person. Also, if you are more frustrated, I don't blame you. It is completely warranted. My frustration started over a year ago when I heard about the tech test. I tend to be able to extrapolate out into the future and see 10 steps ahead, so while someone sees something now and is like, "Why are you upset? It's no big deal. Just relax." I'm pissed because I know where it leads to. For example, you are driving and some jerk is in just enough of a hurry and is so important that he has to pull out in front of you and then he drags ass once he is in front of you. I'm going to blow a gasket. Someone with me might be like, "What's the big deal? Take it easy." All they see is a guy who pulled in front of me and is now driving slow. What I see is that he not only made me hit the brakes unnecessarily, not only is costing me time now, but that I'm going to miss the next 3 green lights ahead because of him and it all adds up. Similarly, when I heard how they had slowed things down during the tech test and only put some things back while kicking and screaming and when I saw the game launch with 9 small poorly designed maps, I could see the road ahead and it was not good, but I had to keep absorbing getting clobbered over the head with the "free DLC" sales pitch club. Well, here we are. When you are sitting at 8 less maps than TF1 had at this point (and those were all free after the first year), we did not receive a damn thing that was free, but they got to ride the crap out of that sales pitch horse and are still getting praised for that model today. Rediculous! Also, even worse map-wise, there were only 10 maps for titan modes that were actual new creations. I'm sorry but 10 new small maps get pretty damn boring after a year.

I want the "original TF" as it WAS, before they began to mess with it! The same game play, the same series of missions as you moved up, and the same abilities and scores before they NERFED some things!

Re-Master that, and I am in!!!!!!!!!

I'm sorry team, I can't resist any further, but how can you not like TF2 if one is such a hard core TF fan?, and why keep worrying about it why not we get into some more positive discussion like how many times can you get yourself killed trying to hand to hand a reaper?

Its a remarkable flow on from the 1st, and is better in many ways unquestionably across the board IMO. I am not sure sometimes (as a Gen 10 TF1 Pilot) what's the big deal, how can TF2 be so crap it's absolutely outstanding. I am sure we put the fear in COD players they can't even keep up with our flying knee bending pilots.

Is it people just didn't like change? I go back to TF1 now and then it's cool, but the differences are respective of each other. You could chew up TF1 too in regards to 2 and spit it out all over the floor if you really wanted too, but what's the point? it was made years ago, of course it's going to be slower, messier, different, it was outstanding in it's time and life as we knew it for many of us. TF2 is new so of course they are going to be different.

It's sad to think there are so many serious haters, we need more people on the networks to keep the game alive until 3 comes along.

The only thing I can say it bollics is red highlighting the pilots. Maybe that is why I am awesome at TF2 because I can see everyone too easy. Yes, that is crap. But is what it is I am red highlighted too so not much of a challenge for the guy that kills me.

I can't seem to find much positive on it these days, sad to say because when I first found this forum man it was going off and everyone what positive and met people online from here to jam with.

Anyway, here's comes the chewing. Just thought I'd say, chill homies. Let's just kick some arse and get on with what's important, freeing the frontier.

    Peace.

yes, i understand what you say
    i thought the same

i started tf2 as soon as i released, and i loved it, im playing tf1 since3 months,
thing is, all the new things that made tf1 so different and special are removed or unrecognizable in tf2
i play tf2 often, but some things push me away,
    the orange glow,
    the low ttk
    slow titans,
    phase shift, epg,
    no titan loadouts,
    tiny maps
    etc

yes, sequels change some things, but not change entirely

i just hope tf3 is based on tf1

Yeah, I can appreciate you have a different opinion and a different perspective Rott, but I absolutely agree with Derrame:

Also, with regard to if things used to be more positive here, I was not here when TF1 came out or what I would have said would have been mostly positive since it was and still is my favorite video game of all time. Respawn laid down a marker with TF1 and I said, "Yeah, OK, it is perfect. I love it. I want more of it." I wait in anticipation. I take off October 28, 2016 and the entire week after expecting to be like Christmas on steroids and instead I got a bucket of coal, because it was not more of the game I loved. It was a completely different game, with just about every core mechanic and functionality having been messed with for absolutely no reason at all. Derrame pretty much nailed most of the important points. I would just add poor pilot/titan balance.

The guys in the "Project Nessie" video pretty much nailed it with their conclusion:
"In conclusion, Titanfall must have rewired our brains, because we love it to the point where it influences the way we play other games. It defines us as gamers. We wish Respawn and the franchise nothing but the greatest of successes. To that end, we hope that our criticism will be taken into account and ultimately in some small part, contribute to a more complete and satisfying Titanfall experience in the future. The direction Respawn has taken the series is understandable, as it was clearly intended to create a welcoming and less overwhelming environment for the average player. Unfortunately, many changes stemming from this decision have resulted in Titanfall 2 becoming a more shallow and limited experience for everyone. Our goal here today wasn't to lobby for Titanfall to be some kind of an MLG Pro exclusive mess, but to highlight our perceived flaws of Titanfall 2 in order to show Respawn that such a drastic overhaul of game mechanics wasn't really necessary. We sorely miss a lot about the original Titanfall and, as we outlined, a lot about that game suits the Titanfall identity much better and shouldn't have been so readily discarded. We hope there's more room for Titanfall in Titanfall 3."

Yep. and after a year what do we have , a game with plenty camos lol.
you know what i was hoping for to see after a year or during that they would have proved me wrong from what i expected from when i played the alpha / beta .
I figured we would have at least 2 or 3 more titans and pilots to match equal numbers.
at least 5 or 6 new weapons for pilots smg , assault even if the function the same as the current ones they look different and sound am good.
Each month a new prime titan model for each titan. each month and FREE not SAY FREE and then attach a price. but with that said if the game had more game play content i would have not mine paying.

a new map at least each month or every 2 months a new map.

as for the BS modes people would comment hey we got new game modes that was new. i say bullshit on that as that should have been in the game from launch day.

the matchmaking is stupid. every game is reset and you don't play or get a chance to make new friends with randoms as you are put into a different game every time . game lobby's are longer and longer.

lets hope part 3 is not the bullshit cluster like part 2. this game even for a year was more like a test rather that a launch game . the only difference we paid money for it. heck if they had told me this in the beginning then fine .
at least we had a campaign lol .

That is an extremely critical point that affects every single person who plays the game every day.

    Good description.

That kind of goes along with something that I believe Derrame mentioned in one of the forums, which is that Respawn should treat TF2 as if it was a side project and then build TF3 starting with TF1.

I still don't get it team. Titanfall 2 is awesome to me. Nothing wrong with it. TF3 needs to be a follow on from it, TF1 was great but how does it compare and in what way. That would be like trying to compare BF4 to BF1....surely.

The campaign story set up some serious long term story let's hope it carries on,

I think the way it works is just fine. I joined some networks that's where you find people to play alongside, and the matchmaking is no different to TF1? just wondering how does it differ?. I just played both games and it was the same process, same thing, you either have those following on from the match before, or different players, or a mix, or not. I don't get how this is a big deal to be honest, I just got my ass whipped stupidly 3 times in row on CTF my strong mode where I usually place top 3 if not 1st, how is that a match making issue?, which is what I understand from some of the forum posts regarding, getting smoked, finding the other team too hard, they're stacked or not (which they are not it's just a network or party playing) how could it be a matchmaking issue, the outcome of a match is up to the player surely? sorry if I am wrong but that is what I am hearing.

You can friend everyone on the match result page too point to note, or waiting for the drop ship.

Sorry team but I honestly don't see what the big deal is, and all the high end expectations of all sorts of things when the games put out so much for free as it is. It's good to see all the different views don't get me wrong. We got Angel City, we got Colony, we got the Monarch, we get endless hours of it all. IMO I paid diddly squat for what I've got out of it.

I respect the opinion that it's no good, as I actually didn't like Doom in the end being a Doom fan, nor the last Gears of War but only because it wasn't like the ones before..... But I'm going to play them anyway that's life.

Maybe I am just not that hardcore I don't know, but from where I'm sitting TF2 is amazing, fast, violent, and fun, and I don't see how TF1 could ever compare to it in a technical and gameplay sense, how? (respects to TF1 bad ass game I still love it) in any form or fashion. But it does lead from one to the other, and if you were a TF1 player then TF2 is a cake to pick up.

Anyways, I hate getting involved in potential war threads. But I couldn't help myself.

Be safe all, see you on the frontier, had an awesome match the other day with Mecca Maiden and crew, even though I was pinging out to 300 odd from NZ!!!!!. Gnarly but hell I'll play it till the server kicks me.

    Peace.

    what's up rott.

    Matchmaking Topic.....
    As for the matchmaking part.
even if you were to be on top of the leader board or at the bottom, the main thing in the multiplayer compared to other games and even if not compared. every game is random. you are put in a game that is about to start , had already started, or is about to end.
for me i prefer to be in a match lobby were even if i was to join a game and was put in the game in the middle of a battle already going or even at the end of a match, one would have the opportunity to continue to play.
the next map the next game and play those who are in that lobby , unless they leave or i would leave,
if a team is too hard to play or not at least one would have the choice to play or stay. or find a different game.

not saying that the game does not function well , it is just very inconsistent. and there are a lot of things that Dev's can do in this day and age. the system is a step back rather that forward IMO . this is not like there first rodeo . now i do't know why or what there reason would be , but for dev's that have the experience and were part of building games in the past with simple matching , something like this should not have happened, not saying one cannot get used to it, but it is compared to what works and what has not from the past , should have not been an issue.

    Difference between BF4 and BF1 ,

the difference and compare between both games bf4 and 1 are the time line and story.

and that's the thing with TF1 and part 2 it is not about the time line or story.. it is that the functions and controls were changed drastically. and that it was not necessary as the set up while not perfect , it worked . example the function of the game. too many little things were changed when they work in part 1 . in bf4 and bf1 the system is the same with tweaks or improvements. there core is still there and has not changed.
battlefield is still a team based game. BF4 and BF1 , there are still class system , there is still destruction. they still have there core modes. they still have weapon customizing. , weapons per class . tanks , jeeps and so on. squad spawn and objective spawn .
massive maps and player count . so on and so on.

granted there were improvements and tweaks , some worked some did not.
but it did not affect the core part of the game and it's function.
so when players move on to another game the core values are still present and battle field still feel like a battlefield game.

now when one compares the same dev's and a complete different game like starwars battlefront , and they remove some major game functions , the game plays differently , not saying that battlefront does not function well or play well , but one can and has to play differently as plenty major elements in a battlefield game were removed. you no longer have a team based game. so on and so on. the game plays great , could it be better , yes, do people want the same thing over and over , i would thing not.

but there is a saying don't over think don't reinvent the wheel, and keep it simple. this is what respawn core was in TF1 hence the masterpiece they have . and that is not saying that TF2 does not play well. it is just that plenty of what made the first game unique and a first of it's kind and play great was and will always be there first creation . all that was needed was tweaking towards improving the game not an over haul ..

    campaign.

agreed. the campaign is a step in the right direction. could it be better , of course , can it be improved , Yes . do IMO want more YES .

is it an improvement from the first, YES. this is the part that was worth getting it ans it was a first .
but ask yourself this . if part 1 had a campaign like how they did in part 2. and they would come out with a part 2 , or part 3 and was to remove the campaign and implement what we had in TF1 how would you react or others would.
would you not feel like a step back. if they were to remove something simple to it's core and change it...

and i do agree part 3 should continue the story.

    MAPS AND DLC .

correct we got colony , we got angle city .
but did we not have this already in the first place. from part 1. while playing these old maps are great. would we not have expected this content to already be in the game, and if not would you prefer to but old maps rather that new ones . in a DLC.
would you have not preferred or have new or better maps or playing field .
or at least more maps that the first game.
i love throw backs. like maps and so on. but IMO part 2 was lacking new content in that department. so in a way we bought a new game to play the same maps.
and maps is not a core function of any game but a visual element of all games. like a racetrack.
the cars function the same for what it was build to do, just different tracks to run on.

and i agree strongly on seeing different views, it is always a good thing, granted not all will express one's self in ways we can agree with or understand. but that's just how it is i guess.
but i am glad that you voice your opinion and likes and dislikes as this is the reason for the forums in certain ways.

so i am happy you jump in the tread Rott. as a gamer and a TF fan it is always good to have a conversation , weather we agree or not. weather you agree with others or not. you gave a view .
the bottom line is to have a better game and more games , and to see different views towards that said game..:)

The devs got lazy with TF2 by puting in old maps.
I know everyone cried about missing the old maps and wanted them back but playing the campaign... Man there's alot of cool options for maps in there that the devs could have focused on using. Pathetic.

I think the pilot play got better in a way, the movement system is way better than the first... However I miss some of the aspects of TF1 that were left out on purpose.
ie. Minion Detector amd Smart Pistol :p
I also miss the Triple Threat and Arc Cannon.
Those 4 things got me my diamond ranking in TF1.
I ALSO MISS THE RANK SYSTEM!
Flawed yes, but still better than nothing.

The titan play in TF2 is worse... FAAAR worse than TF1.
    I can't stand it.
Went back to playing TF1's Last Titan Standing.

The LTS lobby in TF2 is DEAD. Seem's like no one even plays it. 3 years later I still dont have any issues finding LTS matches in TF1.
    Sad.

You are more than entitled to your opinion Rott and you make some good points. I have some differing opinions on some things or some more detail or clarification.

Here is why I think the Networks is worse than the lobbies in TF1.
-you lose the continuity in chat and in being with the same people, plus it sucking you out after each game creates a longer wait time between each game

Here is why I think the matchmaking is worse
-you are right, that TF1 also had poor matchmaking, but they had 2 years and 7 months to come up with a good skill based matchmaking algorithm and distribution system and they did nothing with that time to improve anything.
-it is worse, because not only are the mismatches still there, but now the already lopsidedly stronger team, gets their Boosts faster, then Titans faster, then Titan cores faster, which cause some on the other team to say the heck with this and now it is lopsided in skill and numbers

Very well said Trini. That is my big problem with what they did. It is like they were never taught, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it.", but instead they must have been taught, "If it's almost perfect, change everything."

I agree and disagree on the Single Player Campaign. I am glad it was not in TF1 otherwise the Multiplayer would not have been so deep, rich and alive. I am glad they tried it in TF2, because it was the one thing I really liked and they did an outstanding job on it. However, I want them to basically say to themselves now, "OK, we proved we can make an awesome SPC if we want to and we got that out our system. Now, let's get back to making the most awesome Multiplayer only game that anyone has ever seen." Because you can't have a SPC and have a good MP game, because the SPC sucks up 80% of the resources and time. Vince Zampella (the CEO of Respawn) has even said that himself. I don't want the MP where I could potentially spend 1000s of hours in (close to 5000 in TF1 now) to suffer just to have a 10 hour long SPC. That just makes ZERO sense.

I completely agree with you about the maps Trini and I want to kind of try to tie all of this together.

Here is why I have an enormous problem with how they handled things:
    1) SPC - they KNEW they were going to include this and that it was going to suck up 80% of the resources, which Vince has said himself.
    2) If you knew you were going to do that, then you shouldn't waste more time unnecessarily changing core functionalities of virtually every part of the game with the big one being the titans (slower, weaker, no regenerating shields, preset hero loadouts, different rodeo system).
    3) So #1 and #2 is why the game launched with only 9 small, poorly designed choke-pointed maps that had no life to them.
    4) Plus, as Trini said, "or at least more maps that the first game." This is the other reason why they should never have done #2. The reason it took 2 months to retread one TF1 map was because they couldn't bring them in seamlessly, because they had changed virtually every core functionality of the game, which created an enormous amount of work on each map to make the new titans function correctly on every area of the map. If they had left all of the core functionality exactly as it was in TF1 and just tacked the SPC onto it, they could have spent all of the time they spent on unnecessarily changing the core functionalities on designing actual new maps AND they could have seamlessly included all 24 TF1 maps anytime they wanted even on day one.

All of that is what makes me so furious. Bad decisions stacked on top of bad decisions.
