It's all about personal taste. I see myself listening to some songs a lot, then 6 months later I'm sick to the back teeth of them. Others can stay on a playlist for months or years.

As for the song, his age shouldn't matter. I'm in my 30's and my p main playlist has the following on it:
    Kings of Leon
    Sam Cooke
    The Prodigy
    Pantera
    Bruce Springsteen
    Catfish and the Bottlemen
    Jimmy Hendrix
    INXS
    Electric River
    Hadouken
    The Cure
    The Gorrillas
    Smokey Robinson
    Muse
    21 Pilots
    James Taylor
    Jamie T
    Wet Wet Wet
    David Bowie
    Foo Fighters
    Plan B.....

If a lyric or melody grabs me them I like it. I don't care if it's not 'cool' or fasionable. Anyone who listens to a particular type of music because it's what they're 'meant' to listen to, and then poke fun at others for enjoying something different are kind of sad if you ask me!

But with this music yer going back to the dark ages, even the Radio 2 listeners had to adopt as Frances Line had them listening to war time material...

    I kid you not

By that logic people are not allowed to listen to classical music then?

It may not be my taste, but I'd never knock someone for it.

You KNOW you are getting old when you listen to "music" in a store, or elevator, and recognize the tune and sing the words!!!!!!

Sorry guys, time waits for NO MAN! :(

Then again, you don't remember Honor Blackman as "Pussy Galore" in Goldfinger, Bond movie?

Or Julie Newmar as Catwoman, on Batman????????????? ;)

I've taken on my fathers mantle of cutting into conversation when I hear words from songs with my kids.

    Wee G : Dad, imagine....
Me : ..all the people, living for today!
Wee G : Uh, ok. If you walk...
Me : ....this way! Talk this way!!
    Wee G : DAD!! STOP!!
Me : ....in the name of love, before you break my heart!!

Annoys the crap out of them :D

    Well said..........................and played!

However, with my TWO GROWN sons, we often lapse into quotes from our favorite movies. Godfather, All the Bond films, stuff like that!
Drives their MOM and WIVES crazy! ;)
