Hi everyone, If you received an alert on the forums that mentioned you were now in the "Pilots" usergroup, don't panic! I've noticed an increasing amount of users who are just signing up to spam a link somewhere, and not actually join to enjoy the community. Starting today, every user will be in a "Registered" group when they first join our community. They'll still be able to post, but they'll be very limited. Users in that group won't be able to post links or start private conversations until they've satisfied the following criteria: Posted 15 times in the community Created an introduction thread in the "Introduce Yourself' area Been registered for at least 24 hours While this may sound a little extreme, I feel that it's a necessary precaution to ensure that this community remains a fantastic one for Titanfall fans. If you feel that you've satisfied that criteria and the system hasn't automatically updated your account, please feel free to reach out to me via a private message. Thanks!
Not extreme just sensible sir, I commend you on actively keeping the community free of riff-raff. Something else to consider down the road as we grow: Some bigger forums I'm in have started having people place external (untrusted) hyperlinks in code tags. This ensures the link isn't being masked in any way and significantly reduces the chances of phishing attacks.
That's a great idea. I may have something similar that I can do, but I'll add that to my list of projects for down the road.
Glad your #ProvidingCover for the Legitimate Forum users, we don't need all the Crap that comes with the Territory, glad U r being #Proactive & I certainly don't have any problem with it! The old saying of if U have nothing to hide, You Don't need to Worry is sooooo relevant here. #GG
Makes sense to me. It's not like the requirements are all that hard to achieve, especially for people planning to stick around for any length of time.
