Does TF2 support custom resolution such as 800x450 (16:9) or 1024x576?

Generally, games that let me use a lower custom resolution gave me the performance better than games with any other techniques, and I was puzzled when I found out that TF1 only supported 1024x768 (4:3) with an ungainly letterbox.

Here is my opinion. Lots of laptop users appreciate a real FPS saving technique as 16:9 full screen custom resolution lower than 1280x720. I, myself, think buying any titles without guaranteed performance enhancing techniques as custom resolution is a waste, because my laptop isn't powerful enough.

I think implementing 16:9 full screen lower custom resolution will make lower end pc users want to buy the game.

DOF setting is also a great FPS saver for lower end pc users.

For the record, TF1 ran with heavy stutters, especially in certain maps and hectic situations, at 1280x720 on my laptop with above specs. 1024x768 was the only solution to stop FPS from dipping into 35-40ish, though I didn't like the pressed 4:3 images on a 1366:765 monitor with a letterbox.

I read the adaptive resolution scaling is a great addition, yet it comes with forced TSAA setting, which I think might cause input lags and stutters. I haven't had a chance to test it out, but I am sure full screen 16:9 lower custom resolution with no AA and no DOF is the surefire way to guarantee the best performance without heavy FPS dippings and input lags, and will make the game more attractive not only to low end PC users but to some of the competitive players.
