I played Elite on my spectrum 48k and was terrible at it! Frontier was a game that I played the hell out of on my Atari ST then bought it again when I got my Amiga. Elite: Dangerous is coming to X1, and this makes me a VERY happy chappie! http://news.xbox.com/2015/03/games-elite-dangerous
Not familiar with the Atari version, or previous for that matter. They had me at the "fantasy violence" warning at the beginning of the video. If it is anything like Frontier, we'll be in for a treat! I remember I had a ship so large on it that I had to use turrets to defend it from raiders as it couldn't turn very well! It had a massive jump range though which was handy. Really excited about the new one!
