Life fire is pretty much ruined by gabble and EPG. These players can end the matches in just a few seconds with this load-out by rushing the other side when they do in groups that are partied up. There is no counter to this other than doing the same dumb thing.

I don't really get the EPG and why this weapon is in the game with its current damage and/or velocity, but in its current form it really makes fighting pilots strange because these players are pretty much using weapons that match the power and strength of the old Quake3/4 BFG while the rest of us are shooting pew pew pellets like idiots

When an entire team goes 29-4, something is really wrong. I also find that Respawn did not listen to the issues about team balance in TF1. And once again, parties are highly problematic TF2. Players that party up tend to:

    1 play more than average
    2. have more friends who also play more than average
    3. tend to be better at the game.

When parties are formed in this fashion at the expense of the other players not in the party, then its going to lead to massive team imbalance like the screen shot below. IMO, parties should only allow players to be in the same game, but not necessarily the same team except in private matches. Otherwise you're allowing players to control the games in an unfair way.

    Couple thoughts...

    What's a gabble?

    What's a life fire?

While it does suck getting stomped preventing people from playing with their friends would be an extreme move that would only piss off your hardcore base.

Trust me, I feel your pain, I play solo 95℅ of the time but that's my problem. I can't expect the game to punish teams just because I can't find one.

    In my opinion.

Hear, hear! It is not just a problem in Live Fire! I am tired of playing against a 6 party team made up of high gen pilots that dominate games with scores like 400 to 15! On the same subject Respawn should fix it so that pilots that are, say Gen 10 can't post the Gen 2 patch. I was on with three players on my team that were joking about being 10's and they showed 1,2 and 3 patches; they were saying how they like to suck everyone into thinking they are noobs then destroying them. If they showed up in a party as "10's" maybe players who are solo might leave before getting slaughtered. Respawn should set it up so that you can not show a Gen patch lower than what you have earned - to me that is cheating!

Respawn has gone to great lengths not to let us know the status of players. Your Generation should appear in the lobby before games and it should also show if you are in a party (it does this in Xbox but not in PS4). We have no leader board (not that this is important to me) to some players they like to know how they stack-up against the rest of the community, what's the harm?

I think Respawn is trying to make this a vanilla game that will appeal to all those "Tommy two Thumbs" by keeping the game less appealing to competitive players (of which I am not one). In addition they keep investing in more PvP modes, they weakened Titans (can no longer regen their health) so that they die faster and force more pilot vs pilot game play.

In summary this game, as much as I like it, has been bastardized and as such if something doesn't change and soon it is doomed - don't even think about a TF3! More maps and not just rehashed TF1 maps, we need something new.

Well that is my rant for the day but it is done because I really care and want this game to be all that it can be - maybe Respawn should make some changes in personnel to get life back in this game!

Picky, picky, picky! It is the media not the message that is important!

Seriously, I also feel the pain, but I really think there needs to be better balancing which, in my not so humble opinion, is non-existent. I don't believe it is unreasonable to not put solo players on a team against a party of 4 - 6 players especially if they are all high gen with great stats. This happens far too often. Having said that with the low player base, especially in modes like Ampted, it would cause the already longer wait times to get longer - result players leave.

This is certainly a challenge for Respawn, but perhaps if they did some "smart" things to attract and retain more players that would go along way to solve the problem for them.

Nah I wasn't being picky or sarcastic. I seriously don't know what he is talking about. What's a gabble or life fire.

I know EPG is a weapon because I use it.

Yea, I don't know what the player base is like but whenever a game starts splitting the playlist wait times get longer and longer.

It could be because I'm usually on the receiving end of an ass wuppon it doesn't bother me all that much. As long as the game isn't laggy and I'm not thrown in the middle of a match so I can earn my loss myself I'll take my chances against a full team.

I personally will quit playing a game because I can't find a match way before I quit because I'm losing to teams.

    That's just me though

Of course you knew he meant Grapple and Live Fire but I was also being sarcastic. You are correct and I mentioned the long waits and that is and could be a problem. I have no disagreement with your points at all.

Ha you overestimate me. I seriously 100℅ didn't know he meant grapple. I thought it was something I didn't use because unless I have it equipped I don't pay attention to the names. Just like I'm assuming that "live fire" is a game mode based on what you are saying. I play two games modes. Bounty hunt and the one you start in a Titan.

    I'm kind of oblivious.

So no, I didn't know what he was saying. I was honestly asking

Disagree. Take the fun out of being a party on the same team? People are constantly moaning on this forum about teams. Just cos theyre in a party on the same team doesnt mean they are at an advantage. They could all be just ok players, fun.

I've been in teams that have lost and won in equal measure, and playing solo makes little difference. Apart from the fun social dimension parties add.

Your opponents being gen 10s in tf2 doesnt really mean a fat lot compared to tf1. Just theyve played x amount of hours doesnt equate to being any good.

Epg rocks and you have to be skilled to get dominating results with minimal deaths.

Rushing the other side in live fire is only one tactic, and not prevalant. Other tactics often tale place too.

There are so many variables in tf2, that you can criticise loads of stuff if you feel like a winge... But the whingings making this forum the most unappealing place to bother placing me eyeballs on at the mo..

If you think complaing here is bad you should go check out the Destiny forum. It is bitterness in word format.

Wow! so many great nuggets here guys.

I actually believe that is a brilliant idea. Since the real problem is them being too lazy to create a rock solid matchmaking algorithm, your solution allows Friends to be in the same game, but allows them to be distributed to make the game more even for everyone. Sometimes it is even more fun to compete against your Friends than on the same side as them. And, if you happen to all be the most skilled players out of the bunch, it makes it more fun for everyone else if you are distributed on both sides. Since you can still be in the same game, you can still chat, etc and sometimes some of you would still end up on the same side, but overall this is one of the best ideas I've heard in a long time. For example, this would have and would still be great in TF1. One thing that infuriates me there, is that even when the user base is so low that there is only 1 game in the entire world in Campaign mode, you will have a block of 6 Gen 10s sitting on one side, leaving a mixture of random, lesser skilled players on the other side. Your solution would allow those 6 Gen 10s to still be in that same game (even if it wasn't the only game in the world), but it would distribute them on both sides, creating a more even and better game for everyone.

Great point DARK! This was just one more boneheaded decision. Why would you not have the Gen visible at all times? To make it be a patch that can be replaced by some stupid, gimmicky image, or as you say, to allow them to basically lie and use a patch that is not representative of their current Gen is just rediculous.

You are right. They've gone in the exact wrong direction. I was hoping they would have completely removed the Gen cap and just had their code create random, increasingly harder challenges as you Gen'd up, but where you could actually get to Gen 999 Level 50 if you had years to do it and the desire to do it. It would give you a much clearer idea of what you are facing. In TF1, if you see a Gen 10, you have no idea if they just got there yesterday or almost 3 years ago. It makes a huge difference. If there had been no Gen cap, I'm sure I would be at least a Gen 90 by now, so for people to see me as a Gen 10 is really deceptive. Also, to your other point I think you were alluding to, I think all groups on both teams should be visible to everyone, where the names of each player in the group are the same color. If it is a group of 6, they are all the same color (red maybe). If there are 3 groups of 2, it shows 3 pairs (red, yellow, blue). This information should all be seen 30 seconds prior to entering a game as it was in TF1, so that you can decide if this is a game you want to invest the next 10 to 15 minutes of your life on or not.

Gen really doesn't matter. I've been sitting on regen for a while now and will probably never do it. I have no desire to start over for some color changes. Especially when my character just shows up red anyway. A year from now if I'm still playing i'll still be a Gen 1.

It's a tactical mistake to underestimate an unknown opponent any time.

You make a great point. This is one more thing I think they should do. Have Regeneration be automatic. You don't get to choose. Also, something else that would help to know what you are facing is to bring back the Rank System that was in TF1, but make the Rank Chip always be on. That way you would always know the legitimate Gen and Rank of the players you were facing.

    Oh

Oh no, I wouldn't be able to do it. I hate grinding. If it kept starting me over that would drive me crazy. I just got inner pieces. That was a chore. I know that wouldn't reset but I grinded it out for the cool execution. Some simple color changes that I can't see anyway aren't worth the effort of repeatedly starting over and losing my load outs, at least for me

^ titanfall turned my fingers into mush so I couldn't type, is there an edit button? rofl.

In any case, this how good match matching should happen

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/res...earch.microsoft.com/en-us/projects/trueskill/

I believe that if people want to team up, then it should still try and pair them against a stronger or weaker set of players to a point. If 6 elite players teamed up then frankly, I don't think it should even allow a match unless it found 6 other people to match them in skill otherwise they need to play on the LAN or private server. How does starcraft 2 get this right but 9 years later we can't emulate it?

I admit, I was a bit flustered by that live fire beat down. My team was awful and we were pulverized, and also outnumber. I'm sure if match making was better, it wouldn't have been an issue. I do feel the EPG-1's dmg could be nerfed a touch.

I also miss being able to see players ranks, I think its just dumb to hide it. It would also be great (been bitching for 6 years about this) if games SHOWED me which other players are in a party together.

I also want my death count back in the scoreboard. Frankly, if i die or lose a titan, it gives the other team points so I would like to see my net points in attrition. It IS Important.

Thanks for the link. Yeah, that would definitely be better than what they have now, which is nothing.

EXACTLY RIGHT!!! If they want to be stubborn and stick in a clan, then they should sit in a que until it can find equally skilled players to match them up with. Individuals, and especially newer players, should not have to suffer and get discouraged from playing due to their stubbornness.

You are right on my friend. You should be able to see a clear picture BEFORE the game even stars that shows you the Level/Rank of all players and who is working together.

Another great point! Net points is very important. Also, you can see if someone is putting up 30+ kills per game, but if you could also see that they are getting 0 deaths per game, it realy tips you off that they are using a cheater subscription with God mode.

Maybe it's just me but I only get killed by the EPG when I'm standing still which shouldn't be too often.

If you lower the damage you drop it to what? A two hit kill. That would be kinda silly given how slow the projectile is. If I'm not mistaken it just got a buff and now people want a nerf.

This is exactly the path Destiny took to its doom. I was hoping Titan fall would be different.

Yeah, I agree Villain. I don't agree with weakening anything. Other things should be strengthened to it's level if you are going to do anything. It's a slippery slope, if you keep weakening and nerfing weapons every time someone complains, you are going to end up with only 1 really weak weapon available. :)
