I think for those of us who play the Titanfall games, we could all agree that the ultimate goal would be to have the best Titanfall experience possible. Something that came up in another post recently, as well as something member "Trini Chinese" has mentioned before, really got me thinking as to what would be the best way to get us there. I am not married to the Titanfall brand or to Respawn. If someone else can make a better experience and name it whatever they want, that is the one I am going to play. Being lovers of games, I don't think Respawn would even mind if someone else raised the bar and created something they would enjoy playing. Recently, I suggested that in the future, Respawn should focus 100% of their resrouces on the Multiplayer experience as they did in TF1 and outsource the Single Player Campaign by having a contest where up and coming game shops would create very detailed demos of what they intend to do (all at their own expense). Respawn would pick the winner and they would get the contract to create the Single Player Campaign and their payment would only be 10% of Respawn's total budget for the future game. The rest of their reward would be getting their name out there as being "the ones who created the awesome Single Player Campaign in Respawan's Titanfall 3". This also reminded me of how "Trini Chinese" in the past had expressed the hope that other big name game manufacturers would take a crack at creating some competition for the Titanfall brand, such as DICE, Bethesda or Gearbox. So, here is where I believe the idea I presented above could really shine. The beauty is in the "losers" of the competition. You now have all of these game shops that may not have even been thinking in the Titanfall-like world prior to this, but now, not only have they thought in it, but they've began down the path of actually creating something in that world. Some of them are probably going to be pretty miffed that Respawn did not select them, because they truly believe in their idea and feel it was the best. Maybe they choose to go out on their own and develop it by themselves to prove Respawn wrong. Maybe, a DICE, a Bethesda or a Gearbox sees the promise in what one of these game shops started and acquires that game shop to pursue that game and make something to go up against the Titanfall franchise. No matter how it turns out, everyone wins. Respawn gets to put out Titanfall 3 with a rich, well designed and polished Multiplayer that also has a Single Player that will probably be awesome as well, because people were competing to get the job making it. The "losers" may get acquired by a large game manufacturer or get a fire lit under their butt to prove Respawn wrong. Respawn also wins because they are creating competition for themselves and it is going to make them have to try even harder and not get stale. No matter how it turns out though, the biggest winners of all will be us, the ones who have the ultimate goal to have the best Titanfall experience possible. Let's start building a farm team in search of the best.
