While the original Titanfall had a "campaign" .. I've seen tons of requests for a proper story campaign in Titanfall 2. If the trailer that I've linked above is anything to go off of, then I think we're going to be getting a true single player story mode in the sequel.
While Titanfall 2 campaign news is something to get pumped about, it looks like there's a sword for the Titans! I think we can logically imagine that this will be in single player, but they'd be crazy to not feature it in multiplayer as well.
Titanfall 2 will be officially revealed during E3 week, and I can not wait. What do you hope Titanfall 2 has?
Oh boy. It's about to get interesting! EA & Respawn have just announced that Titanfall 2 will be revealed at E3 on June 12th.
Even better, they released the very first image of the game. It's a blurry image, but it looks like the Titan is actually wall-running too!
Could this be a new type of Titan? Or will all Titans have the ability to run across walls in Titanfall 2?
Titanfall 2 Officially Releasing in 2016
Oh. Boy. We have official word from EA regarding Titanfall 2's release date & they've confirmed that the game will arrive in 2016.
When speaking a Morgan Stanley conference, EA's CFO confirmed that both Titanfall 2 & Battlefield 5 (probably a working title) will arrive before Christmas in 2016. Here's the quote from GamesRadar:
Generally speaking, seeing pre-order box art for a game in a store like Gamestop means that an announcement is coming very soon. I wouldn't be surprised to see a Titanfall 2 announcement pop-up within the next 30 days, if not sooner since there's placeholder box art in the store.
When companies go as far to print placeholder box art for a technically unannounced game & put it on store shelves, it typically is followed by an announcement. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised to see a Game Informer cover reveal happen for Titanfall 2.
Are you hyped?
Confirmed Titanfall 2 News
Gamespot put out a video today that has a few of their staff go over the topic of Titanfall 2's campaign & does the game need it. There's some pretty cool points being made in the video, and I'm on the side of the game actually needing a proper campaign.
What do you think?
Titanfall 2's campaign to be "science meets magic"
Now that we know Titanfall 2 will feature a real story-driven campaign & not the situational levels we saw in the original, things are starting to get really intriguing for the sequel.
Jesse Stern, Titanfall 2's lead writer, recently had a few comments on the game's campaign. Stern said that Respawn is working hard to "deliver a vision of grand global colonial warfare retelling the story of the American Revolution and the American Civil War in space. We imagined the next generation of immigrants moving out to the new frontier of an inhabitable planet. Rather than taking a traditional sci-fi approach to that we wanted to look at how that would happen practically, what the ships would look like and with machines that were designed...
Titanfall 2 Release Date Likely 2017?
We already know that there will be a Titanfall 2 single-player campaign, but we now have word on the Titanfall 2 release date. A developer from Respawn Entertainment recently commented on the game in an interview, and he mentioned that the game has been in development for a little over a year now.
The developer that the game should launch either late this year, or early next year. With that being said, it seems incredibly likely that a new Battlefield is launching this holiday season. That gives EA the perfect opportunity to launch Titanfall 2 somewhere between Jan 1st 2017 - March 31st 2017.
Here's the full context of the quote along with some information from EA's financial call:
While I loved the original game, I'm really happy to hear that Titanfall 2 will have a single-player campaign. The first game really didn't tell you too much about the noir or story, so I'm happy to hear that we'll be learning more about the Titanfall universe in the sequel.
IGN has a story up talking about Titanfall 2's campaign, and I've taken a few pieces of the story below:
