Well after the update still getting jerky gameplay, mid air pausing, enemy pausing when i aim at them, only for them to shoot me, taking forever to find a game.
This game has got me beat i just can't be arsed to even play this game anymore. What a shame too, really loved playing this for the first few weeks no problems at all.
Was nice to play a couple of games with a few members on here but this game is just a massive ball-ache.
    Thanks.

Well, good luck to you buddy if you are truly done. I will keep trying, but I can't say I disagree with a lot of what you said. It sure would be nice if Respawn would actually take some real initiative here. They have something that could be great, but they are just letting it slip away. For example, I've been enjoying Amped Hardpoint recently, because it seemed I could get a game more easily, but now this new release sucked players out of that lobby into the Colony mixed mode lobby, which I have no interest in, so it makes it even harder for me to get a game and so less enjoyable. This only happens because the user base keeps dropping and that only happens because Respawn insists on snatching defeat out of the jaws of a potentially huge victory.

We are all different. I hate all the bull crap as much as anyone, but I will still play TF2 until I am blue in the face. I love playing alone but he great times with the buds online will always rejuvenate me and makes the game sustainable. I can still play for 8 hours and feel like an hour has passed. I love time warps.

Well having not played this game for a while thought i would come back and see what has changed, well nothing really still getting stuck on scenery, still have bullet sponging, disconnecting from server which is the most irritating, jerky game-play, mid air pausing, using coldwar gun pulling trigger four times that's 20 bullets in all, getting hit-markers and still no kill only for the enemy to kill me with one bullet from a feckin pistol. The trouble with this game is it's just so inconsistent, it's taking me around 6 games before i get one decent game, also getting "Connection to server timed out".
I really don't know what i can do to make this game playable for me.

Well, kudos to you for at least giving it another try. I'm sorry it is still not enjoyable for you. There are things that are not enjoyable about it for me, but at least I don't experience the issues you do otherwise I would not even try. I wish someone would have a good answer for you.

Me too ensc, it's not that i don't like the game, i do when i can get a good game i love it but i can't understand why a games company would make a game that the enemies are flying all over the place and not be able to get a steady, decent connection to play their game. I had no problem what so ever with the first game. I will still keep coming back every now and again just to see if anything has changed.

Hang in. Keep playing. Things get better. A lot of it is just getting used to the timing of things and working within the limitations of the game. It is no coincidence that when you start using a Titan at level 1, Gen 0, it really sucks but by the time you get to Gen 10 it seems invincible.

I know you are probably trying to be encouraging here, so I am not trying to attack you for it, but I would suggest taking a step back and thinking about how this might be perceived by someone experiencing what unclefrank is experiencing. To boil it down, it is almost as if he could read that as, "It's not the game, it's you."

Also, if the things he is experiencing are technical issues, which it sounds like they are, hanging in there and keeping on playing are not going to make things get better. That is almost prescribing self torture and would lead to endless frustration all for loyalty to a game when no game is worthy of that.

If his concerns were not technical, then I believe your comments would apply, because that is exactly how I felt when I first started playing TF1. However, that game was worthy of hanging in there and putting in the time. I don't feel that way about TF2 and Derrame pretty much nailed why recently:

Also, I completely disagree about the titans in TF2. Even if your TF2 titan is Gen 10, it is still like fighting in a slow, weak cardboard box with no regenerating shields. There's no fun in that. Derrame also recently nailed that as well:

You are such a diplomat. I respect you for your tact. You are right...I might be saying it "it is just you". But not entirely and not in the way you think. I have experienced many of the same problems and I probably am not the greatest player in the world. But, I do know that there have been countless times that I have unloaded five shots point blank only to be blown away with a glancing look and single bullet from the pilot. I get what he is saying. This is clearly cheating or technical problems. So...I suck it up and continue to play with intense enjoyment. Over the long haul, things even out and it is my choice to focus on the fun and good and not let the bad deaths spoil things. Yes it is incredibly frustrating. The point I am making is that because I have incessantly continued to play, I have overcome some of these weird indescribable unattributable technical glitches by somehow adapting and accommodating to them. I cannot really say what I have done, but it could be as simple as subtle slowing of the pace, more careful aim, focusing on head shots. Anything that might give me an edge to counter the lopsided play. Another point is that I think every player has experienced those situations. I cannot address disconnects and more blatant and obvious technical factors.

Well, thank you for your kind words. I appreciate that. And kudos to you if you find the game worthy of pushing through the frustration. My point is that I believe there are 2 factors that I believe would make it completely understandable for someone to not even want to try.

    1) Technical Issues (which seems to be most of unclefrank's problems) - there is no point in putting yourself through the torture of dealing with that when it is something that cannot be overcome without having to change hardware or services and that is something a player should not have to deal with, because the game manufacturer should have all that worked out for them. No one needs or wants to have a part-time frustrating and potentially expensive job of figuring out why a game is not playing the way you like. You buy the game to have fun and when it frustrates you and wastes your time that is the opposite of what you paid for. It is not adding to you life, but taking away from it, so now Respawn has more money and you have more frustration. How is that a good thing?

    2) Culture (Derrame would call this respect) - I got this from Derrame recently, because I believe Derrame hit on an extremely profound point that I had not even thought of and it truly is just one more thing that makes the game less enjoyable to me. Derrame actually mentioned it a couple of times in a recent post (comparing TF1 and TF2) and it finally got hammered into my head and a light bulb went off and it was like, "You know what? Derrame is exactly right."

Notice how Derrame repeatedly mentioned feeling frustrated and humiliated in TF2. That is where the light bulb went off, because it is actually a cultural thing. Here is why I think this is a profound point. I can still remember the first time I stepped onto the Colony map in TF1 and could not take 2 steps without getting killed. Was I frustrated? No, for some reason I viewed it as a challenge. Was I humiliated? No, it was more like, "Man, do I have my work cut out for me." But there was just something about TF1 that I could feel right off the bat that made me feel like this game was worthy of my time and worth the investment of doing the work and taking on the challenge. I now believe I could name what that "something" was and I would call it the culture (or respect as Derrame would call it).

Now, this is where I will probably part from Derrame, because I know Derrame would disagree with me on some of these things, but I am going to try to define what created the culture in TF2 that causes Derrame to feel frustrated and humiliated and me to feel as though the game would not be as worthy of my time as TF1 was. I would point to at least 3 factors of increasing importance:
    1) Executions - did they have these in TF1? Yes, but they were no where near as glorified and did not seem to happen as frequently. Plus, it wasn't like part of a DLC to see, "Oooh, what is the new execution going to be?" I think the executions feed the humiliation culture. Think about it. What does it say? "I don't want to just kill you, I want to humiliate you.", and oh on the other end, "I want you to feel humilated."
    2) Situational Awareness and Gun Damage/Pilot Health ratio - the way these are in TF2, you feel like you never know when you are even being attacked and then you are just 1-shot killed out of nowhere with any weapon in the game and you had no time to react. I think this one would fall more on the frustrating side, because how can you possibly improve when the game doesn't provide you the tools to do so?
    3) Boosts/Titans - the way TF2 is set up, the ALREADY STRONGER players will get their Boosts faster, so they can humiliate the OBVIOUSLY WEAKER players even more, and subsequently get their titans faster, so that they can humiliate them even further.

To me, I would not blame anyone for not even wanting to try if they are experiencing technical difficulties they should not have to even deal with or if they don't like the culture (or lack of respect) the game breeds.

How can you adapt to a game that has jerky gameplay, for instance just played a few games of Livewire what a complete waste of time, when nearly every single player having the same loadouts with the smart pistol, it just gets boring. Also how can a gun be more accurate hip firing than ADS the Alternator, The titans are a big let down for me, majority of the time i don't even get in them i just leave to their own will.
I used to be in 5 clans which 3 of them i got paid to play, CoD mainly and BF in early 2000.. but after buying the xbox one the connection for me is terrible for playing FPS games but no problem with anything else, so now i don't play in any clans at all it's just not any good, like said before i didn't have any issues with TF1 so i have no idea what has happened.
I know how to adapt to a game i have been playing games for over 40 years.

    Try joining these forums unclefrank:

I just joined there a couple weeks ago. There is a lot of talk about lag over there. I think you would appreciate reading some of it and contributing to the discussion.

@unclefrank666 try reinstalling the game. I know this is simple and something you might have already tried but I've had very similar problems. The lag for me was so bad I stopped playing the day before colony dropped. I came back a few days before war games dropped and the multiplayer was much improved. Then by accident I reinstalled the game and it's even improved a little more. I have no clue if reinstalling helped but it's what I've done. I do feel your pain about lag.

And as far as the "other" site; yes there are some serious snobby elitist over there but also some good people with great information and discussions. Only bring it up to let you know you have friends over there. They say they want to "clean" up the forums by removing the raging rants, which is fine. My problem, the same people will call you an idiot in the most condescending way. All bc they think someone is being too harsh on respawn or they're too "upset" and filled with anger so they post something negative. I say let people vent. Remind em to be respectful, watch the language and personal attacks but just let em vent. @ensc had a great post over there speaking of this very subject.

Anyways I will get off the box. Hope you get some things worked out

I will try that now and cheers, i really can't be bothered to wade through personal rants and arrogant responses to basic and valid questions about the problems i have had with this game from the so-called official site, like i said before i have been a member on their from the beginning. Also meeting members online to play Titanfall 1 but i think it's the new generation of gamers coming through they think that you shouldn't shoot/kill them, would prefer to ask on here to be honest.
    Again thanks.
