Man, this game looks awesome. Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect 3 were both great games, but this game seems to really build on the core of those games and really step it up a notch.

Definitely loved this gameplay video, and I can't wait for more!

For reference, I also launched a Mass Effect Andromeda forum for you guys too if you're interested! Would love to grow that community just like I've grown this one.

Is it recommended that one should play the earlier versions before the new game. Would this help? Does it have a campaign? It looks like a lot of stuff, what is the learning curve like - remember it hard to teach an old dog new tricks. Hell I had enough of a challenge with TF1 and then TF2.

Hey DARK, I would definitely recommend getting at least Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect 3, but only because they are awesome games and they are really cheap right now. I wouldn't say it is a prerequisite to Andromeda, because these are different characters and a different story in a different place. It is still the same interface and functionality though, but just more built on top of that. I think it is almost universal that Mass Effect 2 was the favorite of most, so I would absolutely recommend that one. I know I've played it all the way through at least 3 times myself. Just really cool, well developed characters that you feel a connection with. A very compelling story. And very intense and fun combat.

As far as a learning curve, there is one DARK, only because it is a completely different interface than I've seen in any other games, where you can select what special abilitiies you want to use, etc. However, it is not a learning curve like Titanfall. You will pick it up pretty quick. Once you understand it, you got it and you're good. It's not like Titanfall where even when you understand it, it can still take months or years to develop those skills. This is just a basic understanding of how things work for Mass Effect. Put it this way DARK, I haven't played either game for a couple years now and honestly I don't even remember how it works, so even though I've played Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect 3, I will have as much of a learning curve as you will. :)

The one great thing I love about Bioware games, because they did this in the Dragon Age games as well, is you control a squad of people. You are usually, if not always, controlling yourself and 3 other team members. Once you have more than 3 team members, you get to pick which 3 you are taking with you into a battle. What is beautiful though, is they give you the ability to pause the battle as many times as you like, even every second, change your's and all of your team members loadouts, ordinances, abilities, assign them enemies to target or locations to go to and then unpause the game, let it go for a second or as long as you want, then pause it again, reset everything, and so on and so on. That is such beautiful thing. I can Remember when I was playing Dragon Age Origins, which was the first time I have played any Bioware games, I had worked through almost the entire game not knowing this and then I reached this one Boss who I just could not defeat. I mean, I could not even put a dent in him. That's when I searched on youtube and saw some guy doing it and I was like, "Wait! Is he pausing the battle and changing things every second or so?" After realizing that, I was actually pretty impressed with myself that I had made it as far as I did without knowing you could do that. :)

You asked about a Campaign. In Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect 3, that is pretty much the focus of the game. I did not even realize until recently that you could even play multiplayer for Mass Effect 3. I've never done it though. I'm pretty sure there will be a massive campaign in Mass Effect Andromeda, where you could play it for a long time and never even go into the multiplayer. If I remember right, Mass Effect 2 kept me occupied for about 2 months the first time through and the same with Mass Effect 3.

No problem buddy. I'm really excited for it too. The more I see, the more excited I get. It just looks awesome!

What's even better is that WhoIsDo is even more awesome, because if Respawn wants to drag their feet, not only will we have a better game to go to, but thanks to WhoIsDo, we will have an accompanying community to go along with it.

Agreed, now back to grinding it out on TF2 from now. Just found out that I can get ME 2 & 3 at the local used gaming store for only $6.99, going out later to pick them up.

I slipped out this afternoon and got both of them for a total of $13.54 including the tax and a 30 day guarantee if they are damaged or don't work properly. Going to try them out tomorrow...

I was never really a fan of Mass Effect. The combat in this game looks wayyyy better though. Definite overhaul that might make it more interesting to me.

I really wish everyone would check out WhoIsDo's new community he created. He obviously put a lot of work into it and it is very nice of him to do this.

Well I spent yesterday playing Mass Effect 2; first time experiencing ME. It was interesting but I found it far to slow paced and draggy. I am sure if I played longer I would enjoy it as it has an addictive quality, just doesn't measure up to the fast pace of a FPS especially TF.

I can understand where you are coming from DARK, because I feel that way about every other game I try after having played the first Titanfall. Fortunately for me, I played ME2 and ME3 before ever touching TF1, otherwise I would probably feel as you do.
