At the moment, it seems that @WhoIsDo has not implemented an Anti-Spam method at the moment. Due to this, we have been getting attacked by "Spam Bots" who have been posting really... really, weird stuff. I am attempting my best to ban all bots as they appear until WhoIsDo fixes this up. So if you see any of this, ignore it. Thank you guys for being here, and it's amazing we have hit 1000 members and hoping we can get even more! EDIT: Fixed up grammar
ahh wish i read this earlier, i went to all of there threads and reported them, i even went to @WhoIsDo and messaged his profile page to stop this. Tell him i said sorry, ill now ignore them and tell others to ignore them aswell.
Sorry about the spam that made its way through. We had spam measures in place, but it appears that the spambots have learned how to get around them. I've put in more strict measures to hopefully combat the bots.
I did post a suggestion called registration to site. I would post the link to it but it won't let me on my iPad. You can't help it on forums your bound to have trouble like this.
I have known this if a potential member checks out the site before joining and see loads of threads which appear to be spam they will think twice. Sounds rediculous but its true, not saying that your not (on this forum) but if members see that spam threads have been created a while ago and left there the potential member might think the owner/admin doesnt bother at all, and will not join. You know what i mean?
Yeah, it makes the most sense. If I saw spam and I wasn't a member here, I probably would've done the same thing. It seems like the measures @WhoIsDo now put in place have stopped them. Which is good
When I read this thread, I was confused. I was like, "Doesn't xenForo have these prevention tools available?" Then I see your post, sounds like you didn't prepare enough for the spammers. Shame, you. You should know better, man!
The down side is, as we block them, they find a way around. =/ Been battling them on my communitys forums for about a year now. =/ patch patch patch
That is great! They will find a way one day. Just gotta keep uptodate on the Forum patches. I do not know too much about XenForo but from a quick search you picked a good one!
Stupid spam I'll never understand why people will devote there time to this spam not crap... Good job guys at trying to keep it all at bay
Its nice to see good moderation, we had one of these spam bots hit the COD forums a couple months back and for a day and a half, lets just say the multiplayer and general sections had a bunch of interesting titles.
Come on, this is getting out of hand. Every time I click New Posts I see like 20 of these threads. It's destroying the forum. Get it sorted out soon please.
@WhoIsDo @KingOfGaems If you aren't already, you should be using the API or just manually download they data they provide from this website: http://www.stopforumspam.com/ Helps alot in vetting new sign-ups from IP's that are prone to spamming.
