    Actually, I think you might be confusing expressions. When you are in trouble and you blame it on someone else and they get In trouble, you Threw them under the bus. Not when you give me the opportunity to say you're pregnant.

    @Max Ackermann and @The Juggernaut, you're right, I must confuse two expressions.

    I recognize the one with a curve-ball but that would mean the opposite of what I'm looking for... I referring to how I (unintentionally) gave Max the opportunity for the nine months = pregnancy pun (nicely caught, by the way). The expression I was searching for means, sort-of, to give someone an easy opportunity. Throwing someone a curve-ball should mean making it difficult for that person in some way, or am I wrong? I still have a feeling that it has something to do with a softball, but never mind :)

    Um - no, not exactly. It's an American expression, so it refers to baseball. And I assume that a soft-ball means when the thrower throws the hitter a very "kind" ball - that is, easy to hit (as opposed to a curve-ball which presumably is hard to hit - not that I know from personal experience, I've never played or even watched a game of baseball)...

    Lived here for almost 18 years now and even though I've been exposed to some hardcore baseball fans I've never been to a game. Duh, Im a computer geek! Lol
    On another note, got the titanfall season pass for my 45th birthday today! Can't wait to check out expedition!
