Id have to say for me personally, two things stick out. 1. The grappling hook. This simply looks like it will take plenty of practice to master but BAD AZZ! The mechanics of it look awesome. I hope it plays equally as well as it looks in the trailers. 2. The health bar for each individual Pilot. I've got mixed emotions but it is intriguing. It may not seem like much but this might just be TMI or too much information. Don't get me wrong the information is good but what worries me is that it will just be more information flying around on the screen to process. Judging from what we have seen it will be more chaotic on the Battlefield. What do you think? What are your thoughts and views on my points and what sticks out to you?
i am ok with the health bar . only thing is you may only see this when you engage the enemy or hit the pilot with a bullet and not always on screen , like when in a multiplayer game with your team mates you don't see there name until you aim at them. it may also be an option to remove the hud like what bf4 did in there game. as for the hook i am down it makes it a bit different and remember there will be other pilots with different abilities to counter the grappling hook . i am more excited for the new guns/weapons and attachments , different gear and hopefully that titans are not locked to one type of primary gun , i would like to play with a ION with the shotgun with the use of there certain core perks. that is my one of my main concerns .that and i hope that they rise the player cap to more that 8v8 but rather 12 v12 or more .
It is all about the movement for me. I am most excited about possible enhanced movement of the Titans. Although load outs may be more limited or fixed, I am excited and hopeful that the dynamic exchange in battle will be opened wide by greater movement and capabilities. The foregone conclusion for pilots is that pilots will now be slower, but maybe there is a balancing with the hook that will lead to a synergism leading to a new form of fast movement. Not just swinging but riding the angular momentum capitalizing on the obligatory increase in speed from diagonal movement (the same principle that made bunny hopping work best). I am excited about exploring such combinations and finding the new and unexpected treats we have all learned are buried in this game. I feel asleep the other night thinking whether it would even be possible to grapple on to 40mm cannon shot and being sent so high into the sky that you pass out and die. Maybe you grapple the shot and it blows up. But then again, maybe it does not?
On the points: 1. Grappling hook.. an ability with one pilot type, the spectrey one. Looks an awsome addition to mobility, adds a new dimension, players new to tf will love it - grappling a pilot mid air and giving him the boot looks ace. Flinging off a titan to mid air pilot kill??!! Ooh yes.. However, I hope the physics work well, maps arent restricted to promote grappling in exclusive areas - still want pilot parkour to be able to get everywhere too! 2. Health bar. I think they are welcome for tf2 it seems only to pop up when relevant in the trailer, so shouldnt be too info overload. Could be handy for prioritising in a 2 on 1 situation. Or casually popping someone off if they have a smidge of health left and laser focusing on headshots if theyre at full bar. Other things, no titan sheilds! Not sure I like that, but heard may be changed, or optional with certain games!? When someones shooting at you, direction comes up on the minimap, Loads of things I'm excited about but respawn please please please put my favourite sound in all the world in......pschwiinnnngg!!!! Change what you want, but not the pilot kill sounddddddd!!!!!!!!
It realllllly bothers me that they are going to restrict where you can go/wall run etc. I was so hoping for a more open map/universe. A pilot should be able to go anywhere and not just along predictable tracts. If the maps are bigger and really varied it may balance out, but I have not heard much about bigger maps.
I know! Just read this though and theres a bit where they refer to the maps played at the recent e3 event as 'part of' those maps, suggesting they will be bigger! Awesome if true! Heres the link if you fancy a look: http://www.pcgamer.com/titanfall-2-interview-on-mechs-modes-and-the-new-campaign/
I'm mostly intrigued with features adding mobility (hook, slide) or tactical variety even though they may come with some restrictions (diminishing acceleration gains, fixed titan loadouts). Focus on these two aspects made Titanfall stand out. I also hope that what Shiring said here means Single Player will have a somewhat competitive / sporty flavor. For example, you would have to race against AI pilot or swiftly deliver package from point A to B or escort friendly AI pilot on your back. And that progession system will be top notch.
Those sorts of things would be great fun for the campaign, I could take or leave it before but really looking forward to it now. With the diminishing acceleration gains, I was listening to a good point from frothy omen that respawn may now be wanting us to link more mobility options together, not just hop, wall, hop etc, thus punishing for repetion and rewarding for variety..I quite like that!
I agree. I am not sure that is why Respawn is doing it that way though. The most amazing thing about this game is the endless combinations of actions or features that are synergistic and lead to an entireLy new outcome. I am still really hoping that I can grapple on to a 40 mm shell as it is leaving the cannon!
i'm in-line to be hanging around you guys... i swear it's being the presents of greatness... when i grow up i'm gonna be like u guys... you all think of the kule shit before i even get up in the mornen!!!
Oh Eazy! You are so humble. You are the definition of greatness. You are the Inner Spirit of TF. Your enthusiasm and humor are the key elements that make the this game so much fun. You give game addiction a good name. You are never lost to a moment. As long as we are all brothers, and sisters (thinking of you....JK Jk) we are always together and none are left behind.
