How do I get that ba $+ard off my back with a cluster missle? Do I just crouch with B and shoot straight down at the ground, or should I finally ditch the vortex and just pop some smoke. I already die enough in my titan, I hate to ditch my nookie blankie.
I do not use he vortex as my preferred controller lay out is the the jumper bumper one and it makes aiming the vortex really hard without six fingers. Smoke is the most versatile feature for most games. For killing rodeo pilots I have my fail safe method of releasing the smoke and pointing my gun the ground and I roatate as fast as I can around he center axis of the smoke cloud (like a globe spinning). If the smoke does not kill them the gun does. With no smoke and just clusters face a wall, shoot the clusters, turn your back to e wall and crouch the Titan. Turning you back traps the pilot against the wall. I do not know if crouching towards the wall is protective against damage but it certainly is when your back is to the wall. Either way as soon as I think the pilot is toast I run away from the clusters. They are deadly to yourself and just melt your shields and health away. The old fashion way of getting out of the Titan and shooting the pilot seems to work for everyone but me. When I do this the pilot always has gotten off and is Hong ready to snipe me. So I just stay in and do my best. I think it was Thirdgyver who mentioned the trick of just staying in and crouching for a minute. Pilots will often just jump off and then you can chase them down again for your Titan. Good luck.
Just blast it against a wall and back up a little. You'll take damage yourself but it takes care of the pest.
I use satchels and smoke at times, but when my smoke is used and I'm off guard, I shoot a cluster at the wall, turn my back, see the hitmarkers, quickly crouch and get out of my titan, and get back in. You can't friendly fire your own titan, so when you are getting out, your titan stops taking cluster missile damage. Great way of reducing titan damage while still killing the enemy pilot!
Cool. It wil take me having some guts to get out in the middle of a cluster storm, but I am going to try! Thanks
