Wow, I just realized, not only is this a continuation of the "Disappointment" in TF2 thread, but disappointment that the "Disappointment" thread has been closed down to new replies. That thread was the one I've been most excited to contribute to in a long time. I really appreciated everyone sharing their honest opinions. After reading everything there, which was a lot in less than a day, here are some of the things I wanted to comment on: First, by boy Trini, thank you so much for saying you wished I could have played it, because you would have liked to hear what I thought. I really respect your opinion, because it is obvious you are very kind and thoughtful person. That means a lot to me that you would have liked to hear my opinion on actually playing TF2, so thank you. Also, thank you for posting that long post by someone else. That was very insightful, so thank you for that too. Second, what really shocked me was Trini's stance on this. As I've said, Trini has proven to be very kind and thoughtful. I may have even accused him of being an, "Aww gee Wally, can't we all just get along?" kind of a guy in the past. My point is that he is never going to be critical just for the sake of being critical, so if he is going to be critical and go so far as to even share someone else's critically honest post, then RESPAWN BETTER take off their blinders, pull out their ear plugs and PAY ATTENTION. Third, WhozUrDaddy's comment of "Call of Duty - Titanfall Edition" confirmed what I had feared after hearing that the COD guys were working on this. I personally hate COD and I hate the playing style that it breeds. It ruins other games. Here is what I mean. It breeds a stationary, camping style where kill farmers can just focus on one spot and basically just be "bullies" and then think they are actually good. This is why they should have left the smart pistol completely as it was just to tick those people off, because they wouldn't be able to just play their stationary game. By the way, RESPAWN, I'm still willing to pay an extra $60, maybe even up to $200, on top of the price of TF2 just to be able to have the original smart pistol from the first game. I think others would too. It would be SOOOOOO worth it to tick off those COD players. SILVER LINING: If TF2 is nothing like TF1, then it is going to give me a good reason to always want to keep playing TF1, which I have loved for the last 29 months. SECOND SILVER LINING (REVENGE): If Respawn wants to screw us TF1 players by creating a dumbed down, completely different game in order to possibly make more money and appease the short bus COD players, then perhaps we should just use the in-game chat to constantly encourage players to buy TF1, which is very cheap right now and tell them that it is a much better game and a lot more fun. By doing so, perhaps we could boost TF1's user base, while at the same time sticking it to TF2. So we could basically use TF2 as a feeder farm to get new TF1 players. Wouldn't it be awesome if we could make TF1 more popular than TF2? Maybe they would get the message then.
In what way, shape or form is tf2 dumbed down. Do you realize how ridiculous you sound? Tf2 is by far the superior tf in every way. The titans are actually rewarding now and arent over saturated. Tf2 is vastly more skill gap orientated and has a larger skill gap due to the titans being essentially support streaks from cod. The game doesnt give you randomized rewards anymore and you have to earn everything not just run on wall the entire game and then get a titan that can kill one titan and then die
If you want to play COD, then go play COD. If the developers want to develop COD, then they should go develop COD. Titanfall was a great, unique experience. Having the COD developers COD-ify Titanfall was a HUGE mistake.
This guy has it right. It was the COD fanboys and little cod nuts that came over to Titanfall and ruined the game. Having an option with no titans in a game called titanfall was probably one of the dumbest things I had ever heard. You cod guys and your endless need to thump your chest about getting 10 kills in a row. OH BOY YEAH, get yourself a medal and be done with it. We loved the fun and fast flow of Titanfall and how it was not CoD like. You cod clowns are annoying and you have several types of those games to keep you happy, wish you would have stayed away from titanfall.
I noticed the people crying that they don't get Titans are players that suck and don't add to the efforts of the team. I agree with your statement: "The titans are actually rewarding now and arent over saturated." When they were handed out like candy to anyone only because it was on a timer they were a pain in the ass being everywhere which is stupid, everywhere you looked there were Titans running around by the end of the match...I also love the Grappling system, very nice! FPS should be: skill gap orientated! Totally agree! That cry baby should go play the cartoon shooter Destiny and stop crying...LOL
Who sucks? Really? It is called TITANFALL for a reason. The team nonsense is for Call of Duty nonsense. They are a part of the game and should not be a part of a reward system. You guys have your call of duty and modern warfare, so go play those. That cod thinking crap is what killed the first titanfall and is kiiliing this one. Who are you also calling crybabies? You cod little campers who are more interested in kill streaks and adding stickers to their weapons needs to go back to the call of duty boards. the game is called TITAN FALL for a reason.
Unless the conversation gets civil, without name calling and insults, I will lock this thread. Disagree if you want, however personal insults are going to be addressed. Do not ask which ones, or who did it. If I do not see change, it gets locked.
I can't say I like all the changes, but that is why we need to provide the appropriate feedback to see what changes would be the most necessary, and within the time and programming capabilities of the developers. I do disagree that this is a dumbed down game, because it does take a bit of time for people to become more aware of their surroundings, know how to react to being attacked, and run counter to them. The game has certainly changed, and being an FPS, coupled with the fact that the devs created the first 2 mainstream COD:MW games, it stands to reason that there would be a massive resemblance between these two franchises. The one thing I do like is that the titans themselves will be unique now instead of everyone running around with pretty much the same loadouts. To list are the Auto Eject, Nuclear Ejection, and Electric Smoke. It gives the titans more personality than just being your typical giant robots
I honestly don't think anything can be done to save the game . Titanfall had a unique game play..everything about it was methodical....... This new game is so far from being what it was it would have to be scrapped and brought back to the design table. The original Titanfall maps were excellent. Well except Swampland! Lol. I don't know what it was about the original when they designed it bit it was excellent. The feel of the new game is nothing like that of its predecessor.
This one has it right! Nothing can be done to save it and it seems Vince is upset they are redoing Modern Warfare which I feel is poetic justice. The new game looks (from the videos I have seen) to a Playstation clunker. They have way too much thought into having cod type matches which was never the point of titanfall, or so we thought. Have no idea why a game mode without titans in a game called titanfall was thought of as a good thing. Kind of like Grand Theft Auto without the cars.
I'm going to add this to the "Dear Respawn" thread as well as the "Disappointment 2.0" thread, because it gives a real life analogy of what is going on here. Texas has Conservative, Libertarian policies, so they have small government, no income tax and you can walk around open carry with a gun and protect yourselves and others if need be. You can own your own home out in the country for $1500/month and have freedom. Businesses are rushing into Texas because of the low taxes, so jobs are plentiful. New York has Progressive, Socialist policies, so they have big government, the second highest state income tax and good luck even getting a concealed carry permit so you are virtually defenseless. So you can pay $2000/month to live in shoe box and smell the trash of the other 8 million people. You have business leaving because of the high taxes, which reduces the number of jobs available. After awhile, no matter how Progressive and Socialist you are, you're gonna think, "Man, I don't want to deal with all these people and smell all this crap and pay all these taxes. I'm gonna move to Texas." Meanwhile, the people of Texas are happy as clams. They're not looking outside for something better. Those outside of Texas can do whatever they want and Texans aren't going to try to change them. They just hope they are happy with what they have, but just leave Texas alone so they can enjoy the free environment they've created. So, now, what happens? The Progressive, Socialists leave the crap hole their policies have created in New York to enjoy the clean, free environment of Texas. But can they just move there and appreciate it and be happy? NOOOOOO!!! They think, "You know, this place is great, if only we could switch to our Progressive, Socialist policies, then it would be perfect." So what do you end up with? A still and always crappy Progressive, Socialist New York and now a moving crappier New York-ified Texas. So now there is no good place to live anymore. Sounding familiar yet? So you have these COD players whose game was and always will be BOOOOORRRRINNNGGG!!! No matter how many versions of it you make or how you try to rebrand it. So, they see this newer more exciting game called Titanfall where you can roam free that attracts their attention, because they are so tired of their craphole game. Now that they are playing it though, they are like, "You know, this game is great, if only we could switch to making it be like COD, then it would be perfect." AND THERE LIES THE PROBLEM We're not trying to change your game, but please leave our's alone.
