Titanfall 1 release window... March 11th 2014.. let's look at other multiplayer shooters releasing around that time...

Diablo 3 (which was only co-op)
    Elder Scrolls Online (co-op)
    MLB The Show '14
    Wolfenstein (no MP)
    Killzone Shadow Fall (Sony)
    EA Sports UFC
    Sports games in Sept/Oct
    Then Advanced Warfare in Nov

See what I'm saying? So basically the only competitive MP shooter was Titanfall for an 8 month span, there were no other options. Don't get me wrong, Titanfall is the best game ever made but you have to take everything into account.

Also, what was the first CoD game to introduce advanced movement and wallrunning? Advanced Warfare which just happened to come out 8 months after Titanfall... so who is taking from who?

It is so hard to quantitate the actual reasons or why it is so disappointing but I too find it almost a chore to play TF2. I still go to the box to play because of my past TF1 addiction. But the dings of disappointment are taking their toll. The final straw is the lethargy and delay in getting updates and the lack of reaching out by the developers to the old loyal fan base. The experience truly has been that of putting a nasty old wet log on a blazing fire. It is so painful watching the fire die with just smoldering obnoxious smoke spewing forth. Why, why, why, why did they destroy things and screw up so badly!!! Now I will have to go back to my adult responsible life of doing chores and keeping the household moving forward, reading good books and doing my art for hobby instead of hiding for hours In the basement in a time warp of pleasure in the world of clashing Titans. I loved "Life is Better with a Titan". Now I would not want to be seen in public with one. It was nice while it lasted. Apparently TF1 was one of those once in a life time finds. How could the developers not understand or value the importance of what they did for people like me. Yours Truly: Hanging on by a Thread.

Lethargy in updates? Respawn has been there a total of two months total for post release support so far and are just about to launch their second DLC on top of constant updates and balancing changes to the game.

Well said my friend. I am feeling exactly the same pain. Unfortunately, it appears like it was one of those once in a lifetime finds. TF1 consumed more of my life than anything other than work or sleep for 2 years and 7 months. It was a beautiful masterpiece and maybe I didn't even realize it so much at the time, but a lot of the reason for that was that it was not a traditional FPS game. TF2 completely selling out to that group of players has made that glaringly obvious now. I can remember not having too high of expectations for TF1, because I expected titan play to be really clunky. It exceeded my expectations in every possible way and was one of the most satisfying means of self expression I've ever experienced, whether as a pilot or titan. It is amazing how 2 years and 7 months later, the sequel to the greatest video game ever succeeded in not even meeting my expecations I had for the original game. The TF2 titans are even clunkier than I had expected the TF1 titans to be. What an ubelievable step backwards. And then, yes, the lethargy in getting updates, the lack of a sense of urgency is just very disappointing, not even so much for me, because it would take a lot of changes to make me like the game at this point, but I see so many just trying to hang on by a thread, like you said, and I am so disappointed for them.
