This can't be serious right? If so, there is no more point in me continuing with this conversation.. lol

I am serious, but maybe the actual going to his house might be unnecessary. But the idea of designating even one networking specialist that would almost be like a game IT guy whose job it would be to sift through the complaints about lag, pick the ones that seem the most legitimate, out of those pick ones where there is an obvious variable you can test, such as with Omega's BF1/TF2 variable. But then, instead of going there, have Omega share his screen and allow the Respawn technician take control and make some changes and test it, make more changes and test it and so on. Then, if he finds something that was a valid issue and comes up with a solution for it, he could log it in a "Known Issues/Solutions" site and it would not just help Omega in this case, but could help 10's, 100's or 1000's of others. Then, the person could move on to the next case and do the same thing. Eventually, he would probably get to a point where there are not really any more issues and he would no longer need to do it. But when you have people that are struggling out there, to just act like it's normal and something you just have to live with is just not right. Let me be clear, I'm mainly making this case for TF2 people, because I think they deserve to have a smooth connection if possible. Another reason this would be good, is that it is like doing R&D. Anything learned solving these issues on TF2 will make TF3 that much better.

For me in particular, since I am more of a TF1 guy for the majority of my gaming time, I would like a good explanation, a possible solution and a way where I and others could contribute if they would like to in order to try to keep TF1 healthy. When there are only 45-90 users, there is no way we should be lagging. I think the only explanation is that they drastically pulled resources from TF1. If that is the case then let us know exactly what is going on and provide us a way to help keep it alive if they are not going to.

You definitely made great points , im just saying I am not aware of their resources and exactly what it takes to produce and maintain a game like this. They are a new studio they do have to weigh risk and reward for themselves, it's possible the community told them we don't like titanfall there's really not a big future for this kind of game. What I mean by the community telling that is through the sales of the game. It's possible respawn looked in the mirror and said maybe we can't go all in with this game if the community won't respond to it. According to them Tf3 was/is doubtful , they could not guarantee anything. So clearly they were/are facing a lot of adversity. I mean I would love them to spend all their resources and all their time on titanfall because I love the game.

Bf1 clearly is a way bigger game than titanfall. So I'm not sure if it's exactly a fair comparison to say EAs role is exactly the same. Battlefield is a cash cow for EA so I can see them supporting it more and putting more resources towards it. Respawn is left there with a game that they are passionate about but it was released in an awful schedule and done extremely disappointing sales numbers . Even the promotional team behind titanfall was awful. So they really did a huge disservice to the titanfall brand. A call of duty game activision spends a billion dollars on the game , I don't think without EAs help respawn could remotely compete with that competitor , not if titanfall is gonna sell mediocre numbers.

Now if increasing the bandwidth wasn't that expensive like you said then of course they should absolutely increase it. If the cost to them wouldn't be a burden then of course I want them to do it. But you have people like Ikon who basically says there's absolutely nothing wrong with the network at all. And this type of problem is seen in every game. He may be right , from my perspective I don't think he is but who knows ? I don't know what to think anymore about this issue because you can't get a resoonse or a straight answer from anybody.

I read somewhere that Tf2 had half the refresh rate of games like call of duty , which is causing a lot of the lag . This was NOT and official report at all , in fact can be 100% bs . But does any know these specifics of what refresh rate titanfall uses ? Could that cause lag issues with the game ?

I confess I have not read all the long notes in detail but the suggestion of sending someone to the house to find the problem is really a good one for several reasons. Yah it is totally impractical and maybe even wankie, But the real insight behind the suggestion is that before you can fix a problem you need to diagnose it properly first. How many people that complain of lag are called whiners who just cannot play. I do not complain of lag for this reason but there is definitely something wrong when you shoot someone in the back several times before they even see you and you are killed with them facing you on the replay before you even get your first shot off. I am in Maritime Canada which is not far from major USA hubs and I have a blazing state o the art internet fiber op connections. My ping is awesome and yet I suffer. So one of the Gods of Gaming Creation should be able to publish a practical step by step guide for figuring out where problems can be. And if it is at the source of the company producing the game then they should speak out and save is all the misery. Either that or send someone to a house ...just one time for fun.

Thanks! You've made some very good points as well.

Yes, exactly. We all deserve a clear and complete description about why there may or may not be lag problems. (for TF1 and TF2) And from the Respawn networking experts, not a PR person, not a customer relations person, not someone who just "thinks" they might know.

Thank you for saying that. I can understand Ik0n thinking my suggestion was rediculous to a certain extent, but my point is like you said, at least do something to diagnose the problem. If it is having one person kind of like Best Buy does with their Geek Squad. Or, since that would most likely be impractical, allow that one person to sit at their desk, contact someone with an issue and have them share their system and allow the technician to take control, do some investigating, testing, troubleshooting, etc. by making changes at both ends and see if they can find out what might make a difference. All I'm saying is at least try. Throwing your hands up and claiming moral relativism (saying all online games lag and you just have to deal with it) is not the answer. Nothing will ever get improved if everyone just adopts that attitude.

Yes, by having someone dedicated to troubleshooting these things, you could compile something like that with all of the information they discover along the way.

Yea I'm keen! on NZ time but every now and then I am catching people on here so when do you guys play?. I'm all for TF1 & TF2, in fact I go back to TF1 all the time, I miss the Stryder and the game in general. While I lean a bit more towards TF2 I think this is probably because it's new, started off on it from the start, and want to get to Gen 100. I went away from it for a while with BF1 but came back to it realizing just how cool the whole TF world is, and being immersed in it. It certainly is remarkably different from the 1st one in many ways, but if you play the both in tandem I find it's almost like one whole story, so am keen for TF3 should that ever happen.

On another note, 3:30pm NZ time I noted 16,000 players online Xboxone on Sunday just gone, thought that was awesome haven't seen that many in ages. Nighttime here lucky if there is 2500, so I'm on the US servers often having a sneaky during the day with a high as ping, but game rolls so I'm happy. Going to have a stab at PS4 Titanfall as well and make Rottiluvs mark over there, see what it's all about on the dark side. I am sure it will be a challenge!!, wonder how the PS4 people took it on board, will be interesting.

Me too! Ahhh, the Stryder. I so want to take my fully decked out Stryder and leave an endless trail of Ronin wreckage behind me. :)

Thanks for sharing the numbers. That's pretty awesome. Oh, I would give anything to have 16,000 on the PC on TF1. Heck, 2500 would be amazing.

I don't know how to tell you FPS, but here is everything else. I'm probably not a good example though, because I set pretty much everything to minimal settings, because I prefer performance over appearance. The resolution is not minimal though. That is actually the max I can go.

Ok that's awesome. It looks like your playing the game at 1080P and 60fps? I could be wrong but at the bottom it shows 60 , but maybe that's for something else. I was just curious to see your settings , it's awesome that you can modify the settings on the pc. For the fun of it have you ever tried maxing out the settings to get the highest resolution just to see how good it can look? And also trying maxing it out the opposite way to achieve the highest frame rate possible ?

I wonder how the player experience is on the pc. Do you think players experience all varied gameplay ? Like you'll have some players using a higher Frame rate 60 and higher , and other players might be maxing out resolution and playing under 60fps?

To Ensc and Ikon and to anyone else , I recorded a video showing the lag I experience. If you can just watch it from beginning to end , choose the higher resolution on the video settings as well. You may not be able to notice it as well on your phone so watch it on your computer or a tablet .

Ok not sure how to raise the resolution , on YouTube you can but viewing it on here you can't.

I can definitely see the lag and you're ping is good so that tells me it isn't the connection. Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling your game and hard resetting your PS4?

No I haven't tried those. I'll give that a shot though. None of that lag happens when I don't use the router . I tried the router again just to make the video , as you can see the lag is unbearable. I showed the video to my brother and he says that's the lag he sees too. I was reading comments on Reddit and someone was saying the router can interfere with releasing enough packets to run the game properly , and that titanfall is sensitive to this . Something about the QOS setting in the router.

Again I have NO LAG when I bypass the router. I figure I would just post this just in case it helps anyone else and maybe it can result into a true fix of the problem. I am just fortunate I thought of bypassing the router a while ago because I absolutely could not have continued playing this game. I'm just wondering how many other people are out there who gave up on this game because of this issues. Because they are out there , and I would like to try and help whoever I can fix this issue so they can enjoy a great game

Yeah, you can almost feel the lag just watching it. It's really bad. That would really make me not want to play. Now I can see why you were so frustrated with it.

Yeah, I wonder that too. That is why it baffles me that they have not gotten on top of this, because you have been mentioning it for a long time. You can't afford to give players any reasons to leave or to not want to stay. Things like this have to be treated with urgency otherwise it's too late and once they are gone and have a bad tasted in their mouth it is not very likely you will get them back. You're a good guy Omega for trying to help save others the frustration.

I'm seeing people in almost every game lagging , people from the other team and my own team lagging like how I was in the video. I send them messages and question them about the lag , this is a COMMON problem. It's not just me who's lagging. Every time I see the person lagging in my mind I say this is another person who's going to stop playing titanfall. So I send them messages to try and reach out and get as much information as I can. I want titanfall to succeed. And i could be in the minority facing the lag issue but I don't exactly think we will ever see real concrete polls done to see what the percentages are. I just know from my personal experience that i notice more people lagging than normal .

I need to look into this router thing myself. The lag has been terrible lately.
Every game is a blowout. Manage to end up on one winning team so far of Titan Brawl. Before I found most games were very close like 30 to 28, this time around it is more like 30 to 17.

Had a game we were down 19 to 0 at one point, not sure how that is even possible. Lost 30 to 12 I believe.

Thank you Omega! You are doing more about this than Respawn is, which is shameful on their part. I mean, it's not like they are burning up the midnight oil on other things and just pounding out massive amounts of content. I mean, we are over 7 months past release and people are still giddily saying "free content" when something comes out. Let's remember, we are still sitting at 13 maps for modes titans can be in. At this point, TF1 had between 21 and 24 maps, each of which was larger than any of the actual new maps in TF2. If we're at 13, that's still not even at the 15 TF1 had at release, so nothing "free" has even been received yet. My point is, with everything they have not done, they should have had plenty of time to work on this lag issue. Frankly, I can't believe that the Stockholm Syndrome has set in so deeply that the captives are praising their captors and allowing them to get away with only putting out 1 map in a DLC (usually just an old map with a new coat of paint) and acting like they've done a lot of work and done a great job.
