You just cant have a respectful discussion, can you... Pretty disrespectful statement. If people like to use it, then let them. If people, like you, want to complain about things, I'll let them. But if those people, such as yourself, cant put facts into their statements, then I'll most certainly expose you. You are the ones who have the problems with a non-existing issue. Us "fan girls" are defending the game itself, not the gun. At the end of the day, the better players dont complain about the guns.
New question. Who dosn't have a carbine class?.......... Oh everyone does you say! hmmm. Guess there's no need to nerf it then. NOW how about we get new weapons instead of nerfs
No disrespect but i dont get "owned" by the R-101c, in fact i tend to own people using it lol but it is my opinion that the gun is just better than all the others in titanfall
You're missing the point. I never said I was for or against the carbine and I was not harassing you nor disrespecting you. What I was getting at was that they're is a reason it gets called out as being OP. There are reasons why people defend it. There are reasons why people accuse things as being OP. And defending the game? When did I ever attack the game itself? I'm not quite sure what point you are trying to make right there. Further clarification may be needed. To be honest, this is a pretty respectful discussion. I'm sorry that you feel this way and that you dislike my opinions on the issue. This statement is perfection.
I for one think that alot of people are hating on it because it's overused. Honestly, the weapon balance seems extremely good right now in my opinion. I can counter just about any playstyle I come across.
Not when you call someone a "fan girl" when they are not being one. Thats disrespectful. And I dont disagree with your opinion, so long as you stick with the one you say right here. Its an over used gun, I can agree with that. But it sure as hell is not over powered. That is the point Im trying to make. And the defending the game thing, its because of the people who say "overpowered this" and "overpowered that" the game loses credibility. So Im not defending just the gun, I am defending the game as well.
That clears some things up. I agree with you on some terms. Quite honestly, everything could use a slight buff other than the Eva and CAR. That could possibly make these OP accusations disappear. And some of the weapons could really use it too. Just a thought, some have mentioned it above as well.
The carbine is the most versatile weapon. It could be argued that because it has the most situations where it is powerful, it is the most powerful gun, but this is a different thing than being 'over powered'. Many weapons have a distinct advantage over the carbine in the correct situation. But the central point is that the carbine is always a threat in return. Compare this to the shotgun. It has a clear advantage over the carbine when in its comfort zone; it can kill in one shot at close range. But out of its zone, at longer ranges, it quickly becomes a non threat. Often its the best gun, often its the worst. The carbine on the other hand doesn't have as many situations where it is the best possible gun for the job, but it is moderately effective all times none the less. Think 'jack of all trades, master of none'. To me this seems very intended by the developers. It is no coincidence that the gun you start with is the 'all rounder'. Its just solid game design. Given that it doesnt out class other guns in their own zone, the basic all round gun should be the most poweful gun. This means the game doesnt force everyone into a niche roll (ie sniping, run and spam, ect) but still provides a fruitful environment for players that want to play a more advanced specialiszed style. The carbine provides a backbone for the game. Every gun is not supposed to have equal power in equally common situations. Having the population split perfectly, say 10% each way over ten guns, just isnt practical in an FPS, nor is it the goal. So yes the carbine is most powerful weapon, but this doesnt mean its more powerful than it should be. People arguing that the carb is 'over powered' simply because its 'easiest to get results with', or its the 'most commonly used gun', are just wrong.
YOU sir, deserve a medal for this post. Everyone who thinks the carbine's OP, read this. ^ Couldn't have said it better myself. Bravo.
I agree with The_oldy, the Carbine is a perfect fit. In addition, someone else mentioned that they would like to see some more primary weapons introduced. Now that would be cool too. I'm already tired of some of these.
There's only 1. The other Assualt Rifle is the Hemlok BF-R which is a burst fire weapon with variants of 3 or 5 shot bursts.
I refuse to believe that the weapon balance in this game is perfect. When I go into a game and all I see are players using silenced acog carbines and maybe the occasional shotgun or smg,I realize skmething is wrong. I'm leveling up the G2A4 on gen 7 right now and that gun sucks. I know it's headshot capable but, theirs a problem when a revolver can kill spectres with one bullet versus 5 with the G2A4.
The problem is that very few are skilled enough at the game to really take advantage of the mobility mechanics in Titanfall to make other weapons viable. The SMG's and Shotty for example - shred the carbine in CQB it's neither a contest nor funny. As I suggested, very few are adept at exploiting the parkour element of the game to their advantage which is why the carbine is popular - the game is like playing a version of 'Roof-top COD', and an easy to use automatic weapon facilitates this version of COD. I agree that the Hemlock and G2A4 could perhaps be better, but the weakness of players does not make the Carbine over-powered, just over-used because it allows people to easily play an adapted version of a style that they are used to (COD) in Titanfall. Getting better at the game would show you just how not-OP the gun is, ADS brings you to crawl-speed and hip-fire/movement accuracy is statistically worse than other weapons. The gun was intended to be popular but less rewarding to those who excel in the game's core mechanic. Parkour. The C.A.R is a problem in the hands of a skilled player it only suffers in terms of range, otherwise it has the Carbine beat comprehensively - it essentially a shorter ranged carbine without the movement penalties. Of course the range would not be a problem for a skilled player - but the gun still retains ranged ability. It also has the gold-dust attachment that is the counterweight - fixed sized reticle whilst moving is too much. Just to add, I am in no way claiming that I am as good as is suggested to excel outside of use of the carbine. It's a valid opinion.
